Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 786: Chapter 782: Public Stone Gambling

The crowd had gathered outside the door, all waiting to see Huo Sining cut the stone.

Huo Sining stood at the entrance of Dianshifang, waiting quietly for nine o’clock to arrive. Zhong Zifan and Liao Song also stood by, scanning the crowd below. Suddenly, Zhong Zifan paused, his gaze flickered, and he leaned in close to Huo Sining and whispered, ”I’ve spotted Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei.”

Huo Sining had noticed them earlier, but she had not mentioned it. Now that even Zhong Zifan had seen them, she couldn’t help but press her lips together in a smile and softly said,

”They’re probably here to kick me when I’m down. Since they’ve come together, it seems that yesterday’s misunderstanding has been cleared up. Do you think they know we were deliberately playing them yesterday? Are they hopping mad?”

Zhong Zifan glanced at Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei, whose faces were dark with gloom, and laughed, ”I don’t know about hopping mad, but from my observation, these two are probably not in the best of moods. Maybe it’s because they found out about your identity and are finding it hard to swallow?”

The corners of Huo Sining’s lips curled slightly as she chuckled, ”Heaven’s vengeance is slow but sure, self-inflicted woes need no pity. When they were cheating others, they should’ve anticipated this outcome. Do they think only they are allowed to harm people, and we can’t fight back? If they can’t even handle this small blow, the shock they’ll receive later will be much greater!”

As she spoke, Huo Sining’s gaze unconsciously swept over to the two chunks of material on the stone cutting machine, revealing a hint of mockery in her eyes.

Zhong Zifan had already been tempted by Huo Sining’s decision since yesterday, but after a night of torment, he had calmed down. Although he had high hopes for the two pieces of raw material, he was now able to control his emotions.

”You’ve set a big hook, drawing so many people here expectantly waiting; if you don’t give everyone an explanation soon, I’m afraid they’re really going to come looking for trouble with me!”

Huo Sining said with a smile, ”Don’t worry, it will definitely be an eye-opener for everyone, well worth the visit!”

”Then I shall wait and see.”

As soon as it struck nine, a helper immediately brought over a large basin of water. Huo Sining didn’t waste any words and directly placed the Black Oosh raw material to one side, picked up a pen, and started marking the Shui Fan Sha raw material.

Seeing Huo Sining’s preparations, the crowd knew she was about to cut the stone, and the first piece of raw material she selected was the Sand Hole Raw Material.

Gambling on Sand Hole isn’t considered a rarity in the stone gambling circles, but the performance of this particular Sand Hole raw material looked bad. Especially its surface Sand Hole was the least favored aspect of the chunk; if it extended to the interior, the material would then truly become a useless piece of waste.

Seeing Huo Sining drawing lines, the people below began discussing fervently. Huo Sining, however, disregarded the idle chatter of the onlookers and directly approached the stone cutting machine with the ashen-white Shui Fan Sha raw material, then started cutting along the surface with the polish machine.

The piece of raw material was only slightly larger than a basketball, with a skin that wasn’t too thick, nor too thin, about one and a half centimeters.

But the shape of the jadeite inside was somewhat unique, a bit like a pyramid, a four-edge body that was wide at the bottom and narrow at the top. After cutting the top, bottom, and four sides, it required four more diagonal cuts before it could be polished.

While drawing lines, Huo Sining left a thin layer of skin based on the performance of the jadeite inside. The reason she did this was that she had never seen, nor even heard of, this kind of material inside, so she was being extra cautious with this stone-cutting session.

After removing all the skin, Huo Sining took a manual polishing machine, ready to polish the remaining third of the raw stone.

The crowd was watching intently as Huo Sining worked the stone, and with the hissing of the polishing machine’s grinding wheel, a thin layer of the skin had been successfully removed. Huo Sining took some clear water from the side and sprinkled a little on it.

As the water washed over it, the jadeite inside became very obviously transparent. Under the sparkling sunlight, the green in the white cotton stood out even more strikingly.

Seeing the gorgeous green hue seeping out from the thin layer of stone skin on the raw material, the onlookers immediately exclaimed with delight,

”It’s green!”

The glowing green light shone out from within the white cotton, but despite the green light reflecting through the white cotton, the true jadeite was still not visible.

Although the stone skin had not yet been ground through, those who knew the trade could tell that the color and translucency indicated that, even if the jadeite’s quality may not reach High Ice Type, it was at least Ice-type without a doubt.

Restlessness quickly spread among the spectators, and someone, reacting first, stepped forward to Huo Sining and asked in a low voice, ”Miss Huo, are you considering selling this piece?”

”Hmm?” Huo Sining looked up and saw the middle-aged man standing in front of her. Zhong Zifan quickly introduced him, ”This is Mr. Yang Wen, Vice Chairman of the Fuzhou Jade Association, and he operates a jewelry company.”

”Hello, President Yang,” Huo Sining said with a smile and a nod in greeting. However, she promptly refused, ”I’m sorry, President Yang, this piece is not fully unravelled yet. I can’t determine whether I will sell it or not right now. Please wait a little longer. Let’s talk after I’ve completely undone the stone.”

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, Yang Wen’s eyes immediately showed disappointment and regret. However, despite his reluctance, he was well aware that it was not quite appropriate to ask these questions at that time.

After all, the stone was now whittled down to just a thin layer of white cotton, and the jadeite was almost entirely exposed, almost certifying the stone’s quality, with little left to gamble on, much like a clearly revealed material.

Yang Wen’s desire to get a bargain was shared by some in the crowd, but Huo Sining was not a fool. Even if she did not have the ”Heavenly Eye” and couldn’t see the details of the jadeite inside, with the raw material processed to this stage, she would not simply stop and sell a good piece at a cheap price to someone else.

Moreover, this piece of stone held a great secret. If it were so easy to obtain just ordinary green jadeite, she wouldn’t have made such a display by having Zhong Zifan arrange for a public stone gambling event.

She was not short of money now; over a billion in her hands was just a set of numbers she couldn’t spend. If she really needed money, she could just go to Pingzhou or Ruili Gambling Street to spot deals. Choosing a few less perfect stones to cut and sell, there would be plenty of people scrambling for medium and high-grade jadeite.

But this piece of stone in front of her, she was very clear, couldn’t be judged merely by its type and water. She had not found any records about this kind of stone in her online research the night before, which proved that the raw material was very special.

Being special meant that it was rare and precious. Such a stone might be encountered only once in decades, so how could Huo Sining possibly be willing to sell it?
