Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 771: Chapter 767 Who Set the Trap

Huo Sining had followed Zhong Zifan into the room, but after entering, she and Luo Jinzhi just stood aside and listened quietly without uttering a word, until she couldn’t help but let out a chuckle upon hearing Wang Zhongwei’s words just now.

Originally, Zhong Zifan and the other two had been talking in a very serious manner, even somewhat tense and hostile, which was disrupted by her laughter, drawing the attention of the three men to her.

Huo Sining’s face remained composed, with a slight smile, as her gaze fell on a curio shelf partition wall in the living room. She pointed at a particularly conspicuous raw jade material on the shelf and asked with a laugh, ”Big Brother Zhong, is this the piece of raw jade you were fighting over with Uncle Zhong Tang?”

Zhong Zifan turned his head to look at that piece of old vein Hei Wusha and nodded.

Wang Zhongwei didn’t say anything, but Zhong Yuejin, who was standing beside him, cast a curious glance at Huo Sining and suddenly asked, ”Nephew, who are these two? Why haven’t you introduced them?”

Zhong Yuejin’s eyes wandered over Luo Jinzhi and Huo Sining, finally resting on Huo Sining’s delicate face, his eyes revealing a hint of admiration and lasciviousness.

Zhong Yuejin’s blatantly lecherous expression was clearly perceived by everyone present. Zhong Zifan was the first to change his expression, while Huo Sining still smiled, as if nothing had happened,

”I’m a friend of Big Brother Zhong. I heard he was eager to buy a piece of raw jade, so I came along to have a look. My family name is Huo, so Uncle Zhong Tang, you can just call me Xiao Huo!”

Zhong Yuejin nodded, but his gaze carried some ill-intent, ”So, you’re my nephew’s friend. Miss Huo, you’re quite young, how come you’re also interested in jade gambling?”

Huo Sining smiled and shook her head, ”I’m just here for the excitement. I’m still in school, just happened to be playing around here and followed along to see.”

Upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, the smile in Zhong Yuejin’s eyes deepened, ”It’s nice you could come here to play. Since you are my nephew’s friend, as his uncle, I naturally can’t be too shabby. How about this, after we’re done here, I’ll treat you all to a meal!”

A gleam flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes as she smiled, ”Having a meal sounds great. Once this raw jade transaction is complete, Uncle Zhong Tang, you should indeed treat us to a meal!”

Huo Sining’s words seemed to carry hidden meaning, causing Zhong Yuejin to pause, subconsciously lifting his head to look at her.

But at that moment, Huo Sining had already turned her head to look at the raw jade, so her expression was not visible to him.

Zhong Yuejin assumed he had overthought it, considering her to be just a pretty young girl of eighteen or nineteen years old, how could she possibly see through the intricacies involved?

With that thought, he inwardly scoffed at himself for being overly cautious. This scheme had been executed flawlessly, and coupled with Wang Zhongwei’s cooperation, their act was near indistinguishable from reality. Even if Zhong Zifan were more clever, he wouldn’t be able to see through his plans at a glance.

This time, Zhong Yuejin was determined to make the main branch of the Zhong family fall into the dust, never to rise again!

A sly light flashed in Zhong Yuejin’s eyes, and while everyone else was distracted, he stealthily gave Wang Zhongwei a look.

Wang Zhongwei immediately picked up on the signal from Zhong Yuejin and made a discreet gesture with his hand, signaling Zhong Yuejin to act according to the situation.

Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei thought their actions were secretive enough to go unnoticed, yet they were unaware that everything was quietly observed by someone.

As soon as Huo Sining walked through the gates of the Wang Family, she saw Wang Zhongwei standing in the center of the living room.

Unlike ordinary people, who might see a face and retain only a fleeting impression that fades with time, Huo Sining was different.

Ever since she acquired the Azure Pearl, Huo Sining’s memory had become superhuman. Even if she had met someone only once, she could quickly recall their memory and swiftly analyze and recognize their facial features.

So the moment she saw Wang Zhongwei, her memory of him was immediately transferred to her mind.

She recognized this man!

Back in Mindong, Huo Sining had assisted Wang Kaiwen in jade gambling at Boss Qi’s warehouse and even helped Wang Kaiwen gamble on a piece of valuable sticky rice raw jade, earning millions in one go. Wang Kaiwen was naturally thrilled and took Huo Sining to the best restaurant in Mindong County for a meal.

It was at that restaurant where Huo Sining, on her way back from the restroom, bumped into a man surnamed Hu and knocked over a suitcase he was carrying.

Huo Sining remembered clearly, that man surnamed Hu was with Wang Zhongwei at the time, and they were trading a piece of Hei Wusha (Black Oosh) raw jade with exceptionally good performance.

From the conversation between Mr. Hu and Wang Zhongwei at that time, Huo Sining had felt something was off, sensing in their tones that the piece of Hei Wusha might have been tampered with, a fake.

At the time, Huo Sining worried that someone might fall for a trap and be deceived, but since it didn’t concern her, she decided not to meddle.

But now, seeing Wang Zhongwei again and then looking at that piece of Hei Wusha on the Curio Shelf, Huo Sining understood everything.

The piece of raw jade displayed on the Curio Shelf was the very piece of Hei Wusha that Wang Zhongwei and Mr. Hu had tampered with!

Turned out, the unlucky victim set up by this scheme was none other than Zhong Zifan!

Seeing this familiar piece of raw jade, Huo Sining felt an ironic urge to cry and laugh. She even wanted to silently exclaim how small the world was; she had just mentioned she wouldn’t meddle, but now the matter had come directly to her, and it seemed she had no choice but to get involved, whether she liked it or not.

Huo Sining had initially thought that the fake raw jade was merely the act of Wang Zhongwei alone, but after seeing the little actions between Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin, she quickly realized that this trap was specifically set for Zhong Zifan with the intention of luring him into the scheme.

As for why Zhong Yuejin was there, it was obviously a part of the plan. Zhong Yuejin purposely competed with Zhong Zifan in bidding to inflate the price before letting Wang Zhongwei sell the fake raw jade to Zhong Zifan at a high price.

Of course, there was a flaw in this scheme: it was possible that Zhong Zifan might not follow in the bidding. That’s why Zhong Yuejin deliberately provoked Zhong Zifan to make him lose his rationality and judgement.

Huo Sining shook her head inwardly with a sigh. Faced with such a villain, employing such sinister tactics, it was no wonder that Zhong Zifan’s father had fallen into Zhong Yuejin’s clutches!

However much she despised Zhong Yuejin’s despicable behavior, Huo Sining had to admit that it was indeed a good scheme.

The two men had collaborated perfectly in their act. If she had not already known the Hei Wusha was fake and had not been previously wary of Wang Zhongwei, she might not have noticed the subtle interactions between Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei.
