Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 751: Chapter 747 Influence of the Domestic Public Plate

Kevin Wang glanced at Si Ning, his eyes revealing a thrill of ecstasy.

Previously, Kevin had suspected that Si Ning was trying to trip him up. Now, however, he couldn’t help but inwardly celebrate his wise decision to have Si Ning guide his selections. Although Si Ning seemed unassuming, her talent for appraising jade turned out to be truly formidable.

At this moment, Kevin was only concerned with how much this piece of Nephrite Jadeite could be valued at. As for the previously cut piece of rough stone that turned out to be a dud, he didn’t care at all.

”Even immortals can struggle to predict the value in a piece of jade,” he thought. He never would have guessed that Si Ning had intentionally led him to buy that failed piece of rough. In his view, having one of the two chosen pieces significantly increase in value was already beyond his expectations.

With the Ruili stone gambling event coming to an end, there wouldn’t be any large-scale public sales to buy jadeite rough stones in the country for the next several months. Hence, high-quality materials like Sticky Seed were bound to significantly rise in price.

Originally, Kevin had just been trying his luck. Unexpectedly, not only did he end up selecting Nephrite Jadeite, but it was also such a large piece. With this multi-kilogram piece of Nephrite, he felt his trip was well worth it!

A flicker of envy and frustration passed through Boss Qi’s eyes, and he silently lamented that if only he had been bolder and processed the stone himself, he would have struck it rich.

However, such feelings lasted only a few seconds. Although Boss Qi regretted not having processed that particular piece of Sticky Seed, he wasn’t the type to dwell on it.

Those involved in stone gambling must maintain the right mindset, especially rough stone vendors like him. One must be able to let go as easily as they take up; otherwise, seeing the stones they sold rise in value could drive them to frustration or even sickness.

A warehouse drawing crowds due to a successful cut was naturally good news. With some promotion, it would surely attract even more buyers. After a brief look, Boss Qi turned and entered the warehouse. When he came back out, he held several layers of red firecracker rolls stacked in his hands.

Setting off firecrackers after a winning bet is a long-standing custom among rough stone merchants. Anyone with a modicum of knowledge about stone gambling knows that the sound of firecrackers signifies a successful cut. So, as soon as Boss Qi started setting them off, the early birds who had come for stone gambling knew what had happened. The scene exploded with activity as they all flocked to follow the sound.

Aside from Kevin’s group, there weren’t many onlookers initially. But as Boss Qi set off the firecrackers, coincidentally a few more people arrived outside, and they hurriedly rushed into the courtyard.

These people had also come to try their luck at Boss Qi’s stone gambling, hoping to cut a green-inclusive rough stone. Seeing Boss Qi setting off firecrackers, they knew someone’s rough had increased in value and desperately sought a closer look.

Of course, some among the crowd were jade and jewelry merchants. Upon learning of a successful cut, they were eager to see if the owner of the rough would sell, hoping to seize the opportunity to get a share of the profits.

Seeing that the warehouse had filled with people in no time, Boss Qi was naturally overjoyed. He greeted customers while boasting about the piece that Kevin had selected. He incited such a frenzy among the stone gamblers that, fearing they might miss their chance, they started rifling through the pile of rough stones to select promising pieces.

The Stone Solver Master was also ecstatic. He was still working on Kevin’s stone, but already a lineup had formed behind him, awaiting his assistance.

Stone gamblers all believe in luck, and many Stone Solver Masters rely on it to make a living. Once a master makes a name with a successful cut, many will seek his help, ensuring he receives a generous tip.

Wang Kaiwen had that master help him with stone gambling, indirectly bringing the old master some business. Even though Sticky Seed is only considered mid-to-high grade jadeite, the piece Wang Kaiwen had in hand weighed several kilograms; it couldn’t be acquired for less than six or seven million.

For jadeite gambling experts, six or seven million might be nothing, but for those gamblers hoping to strike it rich through stone gambling, seven or eight million is an astronomical figure. A win could make one rich overnight, which is why those people are so crazy about it.

Madmen buy, madmen sell, and there are also madmen waiting; this is the truest portrayal of the stone gambling world.

The old master, seeing his business had arrived, suddenly became as enthusiastic as if he’d been injected with chicken blood, and immediately sped up his stone gambling pace. With the grinding wheel and the stone rubbing against each other, stone powder flew everywhere, and in less than twenty minutes, Wang Kaiwen’s rough stone was completely revealed.

The exposed raw jade revealed before everyone’s eyes was spherical in shape, twice the size of a soccer ball.

The entire piece of jadeite was of proper blue hue and sufficient water head. After being rinsed with clear water, it looked like a small, dazzling blue planet, exceedingly eye-catching.

”The color is pure and unwicked, this is genuine Sticky Seed Blue Water! I’ve been in the stone gambling business for nearly twenty years, and this is the first time I’ve seen Sticky Seed Blue Water this large!”

Someone nearby couldn’t help but exclaim, ”I thought the jadeite market was going to decline, but I didn’t expect to see such a premium piece this early in the morning!”

”How much would such a large piece of Sticky Seed be worth?” someone in the crowd asked curiously.

Someone knowledgeable began to analyze, ”In my estimation, the quality of this Sticky Seed is top-notch, and the price is at least above six million. If there’s anyone here willing to bid, selling it for eight million isn’t impossible.”

”That expensive? But this is just Sticky Seed, it doesn’t even reach Ice-type. How can it be so costly?”

”Expensive? That’s because you don’t understand the domestic jade and jadeite market well enough. Do you know why the prices of jade jewelry have soared? It’s because the supply of old mine rough has diminished, and many jade jewelry merchants are facing the dilemma of material scarcity. They can accept orders, but have no materials to make jewelry, making it impossible to fulfill the orders! No offense, but Boss Wang is still unlucky. If this Sticky Seed were cut at the domestic Jade Public Plate, the price would at least double!”

”Double? Are you joking? Even if the Sticky Seed is made into jewelry, wouldn’t it be worth at most ten million or so? If it doubles, would the jade merchants make any profit?”

”What do you know? There are so many jade companies in China, and the demand for mid-to-high grade jadeite is huge. To retain customers, they must ensure a sufficient supply of goods. They are willing to pay a high price for these well-performing jadeite roughs. Therefore, the prices offered for mid-to-high grade jadeite cut on the large Public Plate are generally close to the finished product prices, yielding only a small profit.”

Huo Sining naturally heard every word of this conversation, and her heart was also greatly surprised.

She hadn’t expected the domestic Jade Public Plate to be so fierce. No wonder Liu Yuxuan and Liu Chongren looked so unpleasant after losing the bet to her, barring Liu Yuxuan from participating in the domestic Jade Public Plate in the future. So that was the reason.
