Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 761: Chapter 757: Island Hot Spring

This was a lush and densely forested uninhabited island; following behind the sea turtle for a stretch around the island, Huo Sining found that it was not small in size, with one side being a flat beach and the other a steep mountainous cliff.

Upon estimation, the island was roughly several kilometers long, with an area of at least ten square kilometers.

Walking ahead with the sea turtle, she stepped on the extremely fine and white sand. Aside from the beach, the island was rich in vegetation, with seabirds occasionally landing and taking off.

Huo Sining didn’t know the name of the island but could ascertain that it likely belonged to the archipelago near the Mindong coastline.

The island was desolate and clearly uninhabited.

This was normal. In the Mindong Sea Area, there were hundreds of unnamed small islands, all preserved in their natural state. Fishermen might stop for rest on these islands during their fishing trips, but no one chose to settle there.

Indeed, it was a beautiful island; by modern standards, building a lovely house on an island, waking up to spring warmth with a view of the sea, would be an idyllic life many people longed for.

However, outsiders could only see the peace and harmony of these islands, unaware of the countless difficulties of actually living on them.

Without fresh water or electricity, high tides would submerge much of the island, and transportation to and from the island was a major issue. There was also the need to replenish food and daily necessities. Such difficulties and inconveniences were why many islands along the coastline of Huaxia Country remained uninhabited.

At the moment, though, Huo Sining had no time to consider these issues. After following Old Sea Turtle around the sandy beach of the island for quite a circuit, she finally arrived at the other side of the island, opposite the steep cliffs.

Old Sea Turtle, familiar with the path, quickly located a stream at the foot of the mountain and led Huo Sining up along it, arriving before long at a dark and eerie cave.

Indeed, the stream was flowing out from within the island’s cliff. At the mouth of the stream, there was a cave large enough to accommodate two people, with the water flowing out from within.

Even though it was midsummer, with the sun blazing hot, Huo Sining felt a chill wind blowing from the mouth of the stream, giving off a strong sense of eeriness.

Upon seeing the cave, without any hesitation, Old Turtle glanced at Huo Sining and then crawled down the stream, following the current into the cave.

Witnessing Old Turtle’s actions, the corner of Huo Sining’s mouth twitched involuntarily, ”Inside this cave, it can’t be another one of your sons, can it? What are you bringing me here for?”

Old Turtle completely ignored Huo Sining and continued into the cave. Huo Sining, feeling helpless, hesitated for about ten seconds before finally gritting her teeth and following Old Turtle into the cave.

It was pitch-dark inside, leaving Huo Sining a bit apprehensive. She quickly took out an emergency light from her storage ring and, as she walked, couldn’t help but complain and threaten, ”If there’s another one of your sons in here, I swear I’ll take you back as a specimen. Do you believe me?”

Old Turtle showed no reaction and just pressed on ahead.

The cave didn’t appear very large from the outside. When she first entered, Huo Sining could touch both walls with her hands, the cave probably being just over a meter wide. But as she went deeper, it gradually became more spacious, and soon her hands could no longer reach the walls.

Huo Sining could only give up on the other side and leaned his body against the wall of the cave, supporting himself with one hand on the wall while rubbing forward step by step. At the same time, he remained vigilant, watching the pitch-black world around him.

As he stepped in the stream, all he could hear was the splashing sound of flowing water, echoing down the corridor and bouncing back to him. This sound seemed to carry far, giving Huo Sining an unusual sense of tension.

After walking approximately a hundred meters, Old Turtle suddenly led him around a bend, and a soft glow appeared ahead. Furthermore, the sound of water seemed to be coming from the front.

Huo Sining had been in the darkness for so long that he was overjoyed at the sudden sight of light and couldn’t help but quicken his pace.

The further he went, the brighter it became, and after a few steps, a rush of heat hit him in the face. Before he could react, he had walked into a stone cavern.

Upon entering the cavern, Su Qingdai was astonished—it turned out to be a hidden paradise!

Inside the cavern was a clear pool of water. Near the water, a ten-foot waterfall cascaded down the rock face, splashing droplets everywhere. No doubt the sound of water he’d heard earlier came from this pool.

Above the rock face, there were several white strange plants that seemed to have buds. Bathed in the flowing water and glistening with droplets, they shined like pearls under the soft glow.

Standing by the pool, Huo Sining was surprised to discover that the surface of the water was emitting wisps of steam!

Yes, steam! At first, Huo Sining thought she had seen something wrong, but after looking carefully again, she confirmed it was indeed vapor.

”Hot springs!”

Huo Sining exclaimed in awe at the sight of the clear hot spring water.

Never did she imagine that there would be a hot spring on this island, which both shocked and amazed her.

Huo Sining instinctively reached out to wash her face in the water of the hot spring, but upon bending down, she remembered that the water, although a hot spring, was salty and unsuitable for washing her face.

Disheartened by this realization, Huo Sining still stretched out her hand to fiddle in the pool. However, the moment she saw the bottom of the pool clearly, she froze on the spot, her flashlight falling to the ground without her noticing.

In this modestly sized pool of no more than twenty square meters, filled with not-too-deep water, there were countless shells unlike any others. These creatures were known as ”Ocean’s Ears,” ranking first among the four great delicacies of the sea.

Yes, these shellfish were none other than abalone, one of the classic dishes served at Chinese state banquets, a traditional and precious ingredient in China. As single-shelled mollusks, they have only one hard, flat, and wide shell.

No need to ask how Huo Sining recognized them. She had seen them a few days ago while accompanying Luo Jinzhi to Mindong’s seafood market. However, the abalones she had seen were farmed, with modest sizes and limited quantities. She had never seen anything like the countless large abalones in this pool before.
