Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 752: Chapter 748: Going to Myanmar to Gamble on Stones?

As soon as the Sticky Seed Blue Water was unveiled, the gamblers who saw the clear stone became even more frantic. Armed with their chosen rough stones, they rushed towards Boss Qi, shouting to weigh their stones and settle accounts. The shouts were incessant, making the scene incredibly lively.

The moment Kevin’s stone was cut, bids began to emerge. To Huo Sining’s surprise, even as the price soared to seven million, Kevin didn’t sell.

Seeing that Kevin was unwilling to sell, the bidders didn’t press too hard, their faces showing disappointment and regret.

Having cut such a fine stone, Kevin was naturally in a good mood. After asking for Huo Sining’s opinion and seeing that she indeed didn’t plan to gamble on stones there, he became all the more curious and eager about the rough stone Huo Sining held.

But he also knew what to ask and what not to. Since Huo Sining didn’t want to gamble on stones in front of these people, she must have her reasons, and Kevin refrained from interfering too much.

Although Kevin had snatched a good stone from him, Boss Qi was somewhat displeased; however, due to the appearance of the Sticky Seed, it was a fact that his business had improved significantly. Therefore, Boss Qi was still very enthusiastic and friendly towards Kevin, even changing the way he addressed him:

”Brother Kevin, I’m really riding on your coattails here. It looks like I’ll sell a good portion of this stock today. Now that you’ve made so much, don’t forget to support your brother’s business next time!”

Kevin smiled, ”You’re too kind, Qi Ge. I have to thank you for informng me about this stock early on. I made it here early; otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get this Sticky Seed. Next time you come across good material, Qi Ge, don’t forget to notify me in time.”

Boss Qi laughed, ”Look at you talk, brother. Even if I forget anyone, I won’t forget you, Brother Kevin. Speaking of which, I want to ask you, since you’re so interested in stone gambling, have you ever thought about attending the Jadeite Public Plate?”

Kevin glanced at Boss Qi and chuckled, ”I won’t hide it from you, Qi Ge. I’ve been to quite a few Jadeite Public Plates. Just recently, I went to the one in the Ruili, Yun Province. But luck wasn’t on my side, gambled on seven or eight blocks without a single win, and lost a fair amount of money, leaving me quite deflated.”

”The domestic Jadeite Public Plates are, of course, not that interesting!” Boss Qi realized Kevin misunderstood his question, ”What I meant was, have you thought about trying your luck in Myanmar?”

”Myanmar?” Kevin looked at Boss Qi with surprise, unsure what he was getting at.

Boss Qi nodded, leaned in close to Kevin, and whispered:

”I’m only telling you this because I see eye to eye with you, brother. There’s going to be a major Jadeite Public Plate in Yangon in October. I’ve got a few membership spots, and if you’re interested, you can come and see with me. Even if you don’t gamble, it’s worth going just to broaden your knowledge.”

A Jadeite Public Plate in Yangon?

Huo Sining had sharp ears. Although Boss Qi was whispering into Kevin’s ear, Huo Sining was standing right next to him, and Boss Qi did not deliberately avoid her, so she also heard what Boss Qi said.

The moment she heard about the major Jadeite Public Plate taking place in Yangon, Myanmar in October, Huo Sining felt intrigued.

Not just Huo Sining, but Kevin’s eyes lit up upon hearing what Boss Qi said.

No matter how impressive domestic Jadeite Public Plates were, the raw stones still had to be transported from Myanmar. Given that, it would be better for them to go directly to the source of jadeite. Attending the Jadeite Public Plate in Yangon would certainly offer a much higher chance of success than gambling at home.

Thinking of this, Wang Kaiwen’s heart warmed, and he nodded repeatedly, responding to Boss Qi, ”Okay, then please reserve a spot for me, and I’ll join you in Yangon to have some fun.”

”Then it’s settled. I’ll notify you in advance, little brother,” Boss Qi said with a smile to Wang Kaiwen.

Wang Kaiwen was thrilled today. Not only had he won a piece of mid-to-high-end material in gambling, but he had also received such significant news. He did not plan to linger at Boss Qi’s place anymore, and he called for Huo Sining to prepare to leave.

As Huo Sining followed Wang Kaiwen, ready to leave, Yue Meijun suddenly called out from behind, ”Wait.”

Huo Sining turned around, puzzled, and looked at Yue Meijun, who walked straight up to her and asked, ”Excuse me, Miss, where are you from?”

Huo Sining, with a look of bewilderment, replied, ”I’m from Shu, my hometown is in Bashu Land Baiyun Village. Miss Yue, why do you ask?”

From Shu? A look of hesitation flashed across Yue Meijun’s face. She subtly glanced at one side of Huo Sining’s cheek, her eyes full of confusion.

”It’s nothing; I just thought you looked familiar, a bit like someone I knew from the past, so I asked more out of curiosity,” said Yue Meijun as she shook her head, suppressing the strangeness and doubt in her heart, and smiled faintly.

Huo Sining did not ask further, following directly behind Wang Kaiwen to leave. Even as they reached the corner of the screen divider, she could still feel a gaze fixed on her from behind.

Wang Kaiwen, worldly-wise but still adept at handling affairs, felt indebted to Huo Sining for her help that netted him several million today. So, once they left Boss Qi’s warehouse, Wang Kaiwen immediately suggested treating Huo Sining to a meal.

Without any reservation, Huo Sining directly asked for the most expensive meal.

Wang Kaiwen’s smile remained unchanged as he led Huo Sining toward the best restaurant in the county town.

Throughout the meal, Wang Kaiwen hinted at something in his conversation, but Huo Sining refused to take the bait.

Huo Sining knew exactly what Wang Kaiwen was getting at. He had tasted the sweetness of her help today, and with another trip to Yangon in sight, he obviously wanted to ask her to help him gamble on stones again.

But what kind of person was Huo Sining? She owed Wang Kaiwen nothing. The only reason she helped him out of the ordinary today was that she was itching for Wang Kaiwen to take her to Boss Qi’s for stone gambling. She did the eye-checking for him as a way to repay his favor.

However, if Wang Kaiwen wanted her to help with stone gambling again, it wouldn’t be that easy. Huo Sining wasn’t foolish. Why should she simply hand over a profitable opportunity to someone unrelated to her, a stranger? She wasn’t short of money, and if she knew a stone would increase in value, would she not gamble on it herself?

Seeing Huo Sining not falling for it, Wang Kaiwen felt speechless. But he really had no way to deal with her. Relying on Huo Sining’s help, he couldn’t afford to fall out with her and had to continue ingratiating himself with her sweetly.

Huo Sining didn’t care to indulge in false pleasantries with Wang Kaiwen. They weren’t friends, just passing acquaintances, and it was impossible for her to confide in him just because of one or two interactions. Therefore, after the meal, she took the opportunity to excuse herself to the restroom. Standing up, she planned to skip out of the private room.
