Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 767: Chapter 763 Return to the Fishing Village

Because of the Water-Repelling Pearl, her body was dry and clean, not stained with a single drop of water or sand, and with her invisibility skill, she found an inconspicuous spot on the deck to nestle down and then quietly waited for the yacht to set sail.

However, what disappointed Huo Sining was that after Fujiwara Seiho and his people returned to the ship, they went back to their rooms without bringing up what happened on the island or discussing the Golden Lotus Plant, which caused Huo Sining’s eavesdropping plan to fall through.

The two crew members left on the ship changed their expressions when they noticed the old man was gone, but they didn’t ask any further questions. They looked at each other and could see a hint of tense fear in each other’s eyes.

The two of them returned to the cabin to set sail with trepidation, afraid of angering these people. The yacht sped across the sea surface, and after a few hours, they returned to Mindong Wharf.

Although she was disappointed at not hearing the secret of the Golden Lotus Plant, Huo Sining was somewhat happy to have successfully hitched a ride back to shore. Taking advantage of the moment Fujiwara Seiho and his assistant disembarked, Huo Sining quietly returned to the wharf as well.

On the other side, Fujiwara Seiho, who had suffered a setback, felt annoyed. He ordered his female assistant to keep an eye on the ships returning to shore. Even small fishing boats could not be overlooked, while he secretly dispatched people to investigate the Golden Lotus. Unfortunately, despite being busy for most of the day, he was unaware that his target had been on his ship just minutes before, only four or five meters away from his room.

Huo Sining didn’t care about Fujiwara Seiho’s actions upon returning to shore. Once on land, how could Fujiwara Seiho, no matter how powerful, trace anything back to her? She leisurely walked out of the wharf and took the car back to the fishing village, only then remembering, ”Oh no, I forgot something!”

She had taken the Old Turtle into her space and forgotten to release it.

Huo Sining’s mouth twitched involuntarily. It was one thing to flip the Old Turtle’s den and take its treasure, but now she had brought it ashore. With no way for it to return home, was her behavior not too unkind?

However, now the idea of returning to the wharf to release it made Huo Sining hesitate.

Clearly, Fujiwara Seiho had people watching the coastline. If she ran back to the wharf now, she would be walking straight into a trap. Even if Fujiwara Seiho wouldn’t harm her, he would definitely suspect her and might even have her investigated and followed, which was far from ideal.

Naturally, Huo Sining didn’t want to cause trouble for herself. So after some thought, she decided to head back first and find an opportunity to release it by the seaside once she reached the fishing village or, if that failed, to take the Old Turtle back to S City.

Upon returning to the fishing village, Luo Jinzhi was indeed waiting at the bus stop at the entrance. Seeing Huo Sining return safely to the fishing village, she finally let down her guard, and with a mix of urgency and concern, complained, ”Where did you go? I couldn’t get through on your phone; you really had me worried to death. I thought something happened to you; I was about to call the police!”

Hearing Luo Jinzhi’s words, Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh, ”I’m such a big person; what could happen to me? By the way, I bought some seafood. Let’s have Elder Sister Luo cook something delicious when we get back!”

Luo Jinzhi took Huo Sining’s bag without much thought and handed it over to Luo Jinfeng after they got home. However, to her surprise, Luo Jinfeng let out an exclamation when she saw what was inside the bag, ”Ah, Jin Zhi, where did you get this?”

Luo Jinzhi showed a puzzled expression, ”It’s a gift from Huo Sining, what’s wrong?”

”What were you thinking, girl? How could you let Huo Sining buy such expensive things? This is not proper manners at all. We’re hosting her at our place; how can we allow her to spend so much? Moreover, we’ve already taken advantage of her with that Blood Coral!”

Luo Jinfeng’s father was also in the kitchen, and when he saw the contents of the bag, he too was stunned. However, in an instant, he sternly lectured Luo Jinzhi.

Luo Jinzhi looked completely baffled, having no idea what her father was talking about. Huo Sining hadn’t elaborated when she handed over the bag, so Luo Jinzhi had no clue what was inside. Hearing her father’s scolding, she quickly moved closer to see, and upon realizing what was in the bag, she was utterly shocked.

Inside the bag were abalones that Huo Sining had picked up from the hot springs inside a sea island cave.

Out of fear of startling the Luo Family, Huo Sining had carefully selected them, choosing not the large double-headed abalones but medium-sized four-headed ones. These four-headed abalones were deep brown, each weighing around 200 to 250 grams. After removing the shells, the four abalones together would weigh about half a kilogram.

Huo Sining had taken out eight in total. Considering that on the market a four-headed abalone usually costs about two to three thousand yuan per kilogram—and those are farmed ones—the eight abalones Huo Sining had brought were worth roughly five thousand yuan.

Luo Jinzhi, being a fisherman’s daughter, naturally understood the value of the abalones. So upon seeing them, she immediately realized there was a problem and hurriedly picked up the abalones to return them to Huo Sining:

”Ningning, what are you doing? Although we don’t see these things around here often, we have tasted them before. If you do this, I really won’t dare to bring you over to have fun next time. This is too valuable; please take it back!”

Seeing the expressions of the family, Huo Sining knew they had misunderstood. While it was true she intended these seven abalones to be a gesture of compensation for disturbing them these past days, there were many such abalones in her storage ring. She had no intention of selling these abalones for money and planned to keep them for herself to eat. Since she was visiting the Luo Family, she simply wanted to share and have everyone try something fresh together.

Seeing each member of the Luo Family looking serious as if angry, Huo Sining suddenly found herself somewhere between crying and laughing, and hurriedly explained:

”Uncle Luo, Elder Sister, you’ve misunderstood. I didn’t buy these, a friend gave them to me. He got a batch of such abalones and gave me a few to try. I’ve only seen dried ones back in S City, never fresh ones, so I don’t know how to cook them. My friend said that fresh abalones taste better than dried ones. You see, I was just being greedy, so I brought them here hoping you could cook some dishes, Elder Sister, and we could all try them together.”

Huo Sining looked embarrassed, while Elder Sister Luo seemed troubled as she glanced at Luo’s father, as if wanting to say something else.

Luo’s father took a look at Huo Sining and seemed to grasp her intentions, nodding as he said to Luo Jinfeng, ”Xiao Huo has shown heartfelt sincerity, so since that’s the case, go ahead and prepare a few of your best dishes. Just make sure not to ruin these fine abalones.”
