Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 776: Chapter 772: Defeat Them One by One

Zhong Zifan was not foolish. He couldn’t be certain about the connection between Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei, but from the expressions of Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei just now, he had already sensed something was amiss.

Although he hadn’t fully seen through it, Zhong Zifan had already smelled something fishy and vaguely guessed that this setup might not only involve Wang Zhongwei but possibly Zhong Yuejin as well.

So, seeing Zhong Yuejin and Wang Zhongwei both taking a loss now, Zhong Zifan was certainly in high spirits.

Of course, Zhong Yuejin would not actually spend 2.91 million to buy such a worthless piece of fake raw jade. He wouldn’t even take it if it was given to him for free.

This trap was originally set up by Wang Zhongwei, from purchasing the fake raw jade to luring Zhong Zifan into the scheme, he hadn’t meddled.

The only reason he had agreed to Wang Zhongwei to participate in this setup was to drive up the price after Zhong Zifan fell into the trap, causing him to lose three million all at once.

As a result, Zhong Zifan’s jade gambling shop would no longer be able to continue, and he would no longer need to worry about any threats from him.

In this scheme, Zhong Yuejin could only be considered an accomplice. Now that Zhong Zifan hadn’t fallen for it, Zhong Yuejin certainly wouldn’t be foolish enough to spend nearly three million on such trash.

Therefore, Zhong Yuejin immediately refused to proceed, ”Since you don’t want it, I don’t want this raw jade either. Boss Wang, you can sell this material to whoever you like! I’m not buying it!”

Wang Zhongwei’s face looked as if he had swallowed a fly. He glanced at Zhong Zifan and then at Zhong Yuejin, his expression quite ugly, clearly conveying, ”Are you two, uncle and nephew, trying to play me for a fool?”

Zhong Yuejin wouldn’t fall for Wang Zhongwei’s ploy. He had originally planned to cooperate with Wang Zhongwei to take advantage of Zhong Zifan, but with the unexpected turn of events, doubt inevitably arose in his mind.

He kept thinking, even suspecting that this setup might not be targeted at Zhong Zifan but a ruse by Zhong Zifan and Wang Zhongwei to trick him instead!

Zhong Yuejin was someone who liked to employ underhanded tactics, so when it came to judging others’ behaviors, he tended to think in roundabout, complicated ways.

Thinking of how Wang Zhongwei had approached him for no reason to help, and considering Zhong Zifan’s prior actions, and then his sudden withdrawal from the bidding, the more Zhong Yuejin thought about it, the more he felt he had uncovered the truth—that Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Zifan had joined forces intentionally to deceive him!

Especially at this time, Huo Sining did not forget to add fuel to the fire, ”This doesn’t seem to follow the rules, Boss Zhong. We had agreed beforehand that the highest bidder wins. You participated in the bidding, and now you say you don’t want it anymore. That doesn’t seem justifiable anywhere, does it? If this gets out, it might damage your reputation, Boss Zhong, right?”

These words were deliberately provoked by Huo Sining, aiming to make Zhong Yuejin overthink things, and unexpectedly, Zhong Yuejin indeed took the bait.

Zhong Yuejin felt like an utter fool, played around by Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Zifan. He never expected that in his daily hunting of geese, he would be pecked by one instead. He thought he had trapped Zhong Zifan, but now he was being jointly forced to buy a piece of counterfeit raw jade!

The angrier Zhong Yuejin got, the darker his expression became. He couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh and said venomously to Wang Zhongwei, ”Wang Zhongwei, I’ll remember this!”

Having said that, without waiting for Wang Zhongwei to react, Zhong Yuejin angrily opened the door and stormed off with long strides.

Wang Zhongwei was confused and had no idea what had just happened. How could Zhong Yuejin flip his attitude so suddenly?

However, Wang Zhongwei couldn’t afford to think about that now. With Zhong Yuejin gone, and no one left to collaborate with, the situation still had to continue. He had spent so much money to buy this counterfeit rough stone from Hu Youmin, and he couldn’t let it all end so abruptly.

With this thought, an awkward and ingratiating smile couldn’t help but appear on Wang Zhongwei’s face:

”Xiao Zhong, look at the mess this has created. I know a little about the conflict between you and your uncle. He really wasn’t fair in his actions, but whatever grudge you have with your uncle, I won’t interfere. The business deal between us has nothing to do with your uncle. Now that your uncle is gone, that’s perfect. He doesn’t want the rough stone anymore, so you’re getting a great deal. Although your uncle’s last bid was 2.91 million, since he doesn’t want it now, let’s go with the last price Miss Huo called out, 2.81 million. I’ll take a loss, and sell you the stone!”

After saying this, Wang Zhongwei even showed a pained expression, as if he was indeed selling the stone at a loss with the 2.81 million deal.

Huo Sining couldn’t help feeling secretly delighted when Zhong Yuejin left. Hearing Wang Zhongwei now, she couldn’t help but show a look of disdain in her eyes. Did Wang Zhongwei really take them for fools?

”Boss Wang, let’s speak frankly. You went through a lot of trouble to buy this rough stone from Mr. Hu, which must have cost you a pretty penny, right? In consideration of our past relations, we will not quibble too much. But do you really think this matter was carried out without anyone being the wiser?”

Huo Sining’s expression was very calm, but her words exploded in Wang Zhongwei’s head, leaving his mind blank and his face turning pale almost instantly.

”How, how did you know?”

Huo Sining smiled and shrugged her shoulders, ”Of course, Zhong Yuejin told us. If Uncle Zhong hadn’t informed Zhong Zifan about this, we might have really fallen for it! Did you really think that by finding an ally, you could lure us into being deceived? That’s just laughable. You can’t write two ’Zhong’ characters with one stroke of the pen. Even if there are conflicts between Zhong Zifan and Zhong Yuejin, those are internal issues within the Zhong family. It’s not your place as an outsider to scheme. Boss Wang, what you have done is hardly what a gentleman would do!”

Seeing that Wang Zhongwei still seemed somewhat skeptical, Huo Sining dropped another bombshell, ”Mr. Hu must still be waiting for that final payment of one hundred thousand from you, Boss Wang, but what to do now? I’m afraid that you won’t be getting that hundred thousand.”

Huo Sining showed a look of pity, shrugged her shoulders, and looked at Wang Zhongwei with sympathy.

If Huo Sining had only pointed out the source of the rough stone and not mentioned the last one hundred thousand, Wang Zhongwei might not have believed her words.

But now, not only had Huo Sining mentioned Mr. Hu, but she also knew about the tail end of the payment, which forced Wang Zhongwei to believe that everything Huo Sining said was true. The details of the situation with the rough stone had been fully disclosed to Zhong Yuejin earlier, and only Zhong Yuejin knew the insider details of the transaction with Hu Youmin.

It turned out that Zhong Yuejin and Zhong Zifan had conspired from the start. The whole pretense of bidding today was just the uncle and nephew playing him!

Fuck! Wang Zhongwei’s face turned beet red, and he was on the verge of spewing a mouthful of blood. At this moment, he wished he could rush to the Zhong residence and begin cursing Zhong Yuejin out loud.
