Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 400: Chapter 396 Hattori Keiko

”Crazy!”

Zhou Mei rolled her eyes at Huo Sining, and Ye Zixin looked at Huo Sining as if she were looking at an idiot.

It was obvious that both of them thought Huo Sining was talking nonsense.

”Why should I change to another store? Miss, what you are saying is very strange. I have no plans to change the store’s location.”

Hattori Keiko’s face also looked somewhat displeased.

”Miss Hattori, this does not require your decision or plan, it’s simply that I unilaterally do not wish to renew the lease,” Huo Sining said with a smile, then turned around and snapped her fingers at the lawyer.

The lawyer took out Huo Sining’s document bag, and quickly found the property deed for the Wangfujing store and the lease contract signed with Yu Shenmu Jewelry Company.

Huo Sining passed the property deed and contract documents to Miss Hattori for her to look over. Upon seeing the property deed and contract, Miss Hattori’s face immediately changed.

”Miss Hattori, the lease contract I signed with you ends in May, and I regret to inform you that after May, I do not intend to renew the lease. Therefore, during this time, you need to find another store for Yu Shenmu Jewelry,” Huo Sining declared.

Hattori Keiko’s complexion stiffened, and with a hint of reluctance, she asked:

”Miss Huo, I wasn’t aware that you owned this storefront. I apologize if I have offended you just now and hope you won’t take it to heart. But are you really not considering renewing the lease? I am willing to agree to a rent increase because it is quite difficult to find another store of this size in Wangfujing to rent.”

The strong sense of superiority in Hattori Keiko’s eyes had disappeared, leaving only panic and urgency. She had not expected Huo Sining to be the owner of the store.

That contract could not be fake; in fact, a week ago, Hattori Keiko had heard from legal affairs about the lease termination, but she thought that renewing the contract when the time came would suffice, so she did not take it seriously.

But now Huo Sining intended to take back the store, and the stores in Wangfujing were always in high demand – it was rare for anyone to transfer them. It was practically impossible for her to find another store of around two hundred square meters in just a few months.

However, Huo Sining was resolute. She had originally had no intention of renewing the lease, let alone renting it to a Dongyang person whom she already had a bad impression of.

”I’m sorry, Miss Hattori, I suggest you look for another store,” Huo Sining said.

A flash of anger crossed Hattori Keiko’s eyes: ”Miss Huo, we have an agreement in our legal contract that if you are to rent out the store, we at Yu Shenmu have the right of first refusal at the same price. Therefore, you can’t just terminate the agreement unilaterally. Even if you want to rent it out, Yu Shenmu Jewelry Company has priority! Otherwise, it would be a breach of contract, and you would need to compensate our company for our loss!”

Hattori Keiko thought that Huo Sining was planning to take the store back to rent it to someone else, but she guessed wrong again.

Huo Sining shrugged: ”Miss Hattori, I do not intend to rent out the store. I plan to open my own, so it does not go against the terms of the contract we signed.”

Hattori Keiko was left speechless by Huo Sining, while the expressions of the Zhou siblings changed instantly. They looked at Huo Sining with disbelief, then at Hattori Keiko. After exchanging glances, they were both somewhat dumbfounded.

The Zhou siblings had come to the Imperial Capital entirely on their own, keeping it a secret from the Zhou family. Their purpose, naturally, was to reach a cooperation agreement with Hattori Keiko.

Because Master Zhou had already set the rules: in the coming year, Zhou Zhen and Zhou Yan were to compete fairly with a starting fund of ten million each. Whoever could create more economic benefit in a year’s time would inherit Zhou’s Jewelry.

Zhou Zhen and Zhou Mei thought it over and set their sights on collaborating with Mikamiki Jewelry.

Zhou Zhen had contacted Hattori Keiko several times due to Hattori Masano’s earlier introduction, but they had not reached an agreement.

However, Zhou Mei had heard that Hattori Keiko had come to the Imperial Capital for an inspection, so the siblings discussed it and immediately set out to meet with Hattori Keiko.

Hattori Keiko was also interested in breaking into the S City jewelry market, and having the Zhou family to lead the way would be a great help to Yu Shenmu as well.

The two parties hit it off immediately, enjoying a very pleasant conversation, but they didn’t expect such a sudden turn of events at this crucial time.

The Wangfujing location is Yu Shenmu’s branch in Huaxia, with the storefront below and the office area above, acting as the general agent. If the storefront were taken back, it would undoubtedly be a huge blow to Yu Shenmu. Whether Zhou Zhen and Hattori Keiko’s cooperation could continue had become an unknown.

”Miss Huo, aren’t you being a bit too inconsiderate in doing this? Miss Hattori sincerely rented your shop, and you are so ruthless to say you’ll take it back. How do you account for the economic losses caused?” Zhou Zhen couldn’t help but ask indignantly.

Huo Sining was amused and irritated by Zhou Zhen’s words: ”Compassion? Your words are laughable. This is my first meeting with Miss Hattori Keiko, and I have no acquaintanceship with her, let alone any obligation of friendship!”

”Zhou Zhen, if you want to bootlick a Dongyang person, that’s your business, but don’t nauseatingly drag us into it! The shop belongs to Huo Sining, and it is her freedom to rent it out or to whom she rents it. It’s none of your business to point fingers!”

Su Qingqing felt disgusted seeing Zhou Zhen being so servile in front of Hattori Keiko. She had only thought Zhou Zhen was mindless before, but now she realized that not only was he mindless, but his character was also severely flawed. Groveling to a person from Dongyang, he wasn’t afraid of his ancestors climbing out of their graves.

”It’s only the end of January now; there are three months left until the contract’s deadline. Miss Huo has given Miss Hattori Keiko ample preparation time, so it isn’t abrupt to take it back. Therefore, sir, your statement doesn’t hold up and is legally unfounded. Miss Huo isn’t obligated to bear any economic losses that Miss Hattori Keiko incurs during this moving process.”

The lawyer, who had been composed, hadn’t intended to interject, but hearing Zhou Zhen talking about economic losses and blaming Huo Sining, he couldn’t hold back anymore. It’s one thing to be ignorant of the law, but it’s intolerable to spout nonsense in public.

The lawyer’s sharp rebuke was like a chokehold, leaving Zhou Zhen red-faced with anger, unable to find the words to retort, as his expression twisted in frustration.

Gu Xu was impatient with arguing with these people and felt that it was beneath him. He gave the lawyer a glance and said, ”Alright, the person in charge is here. You handle this.”

With that, he took the lead, pulling Huo Sining along to head outside, not even bothering to spare another glance at Zhou Mei.

Zhou Mei was choked with rage, her eyes looking at Huo Sining as if they were filled with thousands of knives. Yet Huo Sining seemed oblivious, docilely allowing Gu Xu to lead her away like a little wife.
