Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 374: Chapter 370: Don’t Recognize

Yan Feng had gone to bed very late last night, and now the quarrel outside woke him up, instantly putting him in a bad mood. Coming down from upstairs, he saw Xu Lian cursing and trying to hit someone, which made him furious. Without waiting for his mind to clear up, he had already rushed to the doorway and struck out.

With the Wind Spirit Pearl, Yan Feng’s slap was naturally not light. Xu Lian’s right cheek, though she covered it, swelled up high in less than three seconds, to the point where even her chubby hand couldn’t cover it.

Xu Lian was not one to suffer losses quietly. Suddenly struck, her face twisted nastily, her eyes filled with ferocity.

Auntie Li, on the other hand, showed a look of relief. She had never dealt with such a matter before, and having Yan Feng step in was naturally the best outcome.

After all, she was merely a cooking aunt hired by Huo Sining, but Yan Feng was different.

Auntie Li could tell that Huo Sining placing Yan Feng in the villa to live suggested a kinship with him, as they appeared to have a deep relationship.

Moreover, before Huo Sining went to the Imperial Capital, she had instructed her that if any difficult matter arose that was hard to handle, she should directly seek Yan Feng’s help.

”What’s happening here?”

Yan Feng turned his head to question Auntie Li.

Auntie Li repeated the explanation she had given to the neighbors earlier. Yan Feng snorted coldly and scoffed,

”Huo Sining has lived in Bashu, but that doesn’t mean just anyone can come along and claim to be relatives, right? Is it settled just because you say you’re family?”

Yan Feng, of course, was aware of the true identities of the people before him and was well aware of what these people were after in seeking Huo Sining. He couldn’t be bothered to waste words with them and gestured for Auntie Li to open the door.

Auntie Li was taken aback, not understanding what Yan Feng intended to do, but she did as she was told and slowly opened the courtyard door.

Yan Feng stepped out from the courtyard to face the five people outside. Xu Lian, seeing the courtyard door open, was delighted and gave Huo Yong and Liu Meiling a meaningful glance before attempting to barge in.

However, before her bulky form could squeeze through the door, a Tibetan Mastiff with a coat of golden fur charged at her, knocking her to the ground.

Lei Shi opened his large mouth and growled, embedding his claws in Xu Lian’s shoulder, ferociously gnawing at Xu Lian’s cheek, baring his teeth.

Xu Lian didn’t recognize that this was a Tibetan Mastiff. When she first arrived at Huo Sining’s villa and saw this dog barking in the courtyard, she didn’t pay any attention, thinking it was just an ordinary guard dog.

Now pinned to the ground by this beast, a foul scent assailed her nostrils, and it was only then that Xu Lian realized the danger. She lay rigidly on the ground, daring not to move an inch, shouting urgently, ”Huo Yong... Are you dead or something... Hurry and chase this dog away for me....”

Huo Yong hesitated upon hearing Xu Lian’s words, stepping forward to shoo Lei Shi away.

However, at that moment, Liu Meiling’s trembling voice broke out:

”Auntie... that’s... a Tibetan Mastiff!”

A Tibetan Mastiff?!

Huo Yong’s face changed color instantly, and he hastily retreated several steps, looking at the dog before him with a look of horror.

Liu Meiling was terrified by this sudden turn of events, especially at the sight of the enraged Lei Shi, she dared not move a single step.

Previously, when Lei Shi was in the courtyard, Liu Meiling hadn’t paid any attention at all. But now, facing Lei Shi’s appearance, she suddenly realized that, aside from the color of its fur, this big fellow was exactly like the Tibetan Mastiff owned by Jin Pangzi!

The growling from Lei Shi’s throat filled the air, his eyes brimming with ferocity.

Seeing Lei Shi’s behavior, Liu Meiling couldn’t help but think of the scene where Jin Pangzi’s Tibetan Mastiff had torn a live chicken to shreds. She shuddered at the thought.

Realizing that the weight on top of her was a Tibetan Mastiff, Xu Lian was utterly dumbfounded. She widened her eyes at Lei Shi above her, her face losing all its color to a ghastly pale.

”Keep trying, and I’ll leave the door open. I want to see if you can really get through this door today!”

Yan Feng’s voice was clear and, probably because his voice was naturally gentle and smooth, even his anger sounded pleasing to the ear. If it weren’t for the disdainful coldness on his face indicating his bad mood, just by listening to his voice, outsiders would never know he was angry.

This was precisely why Yan Feng, standing at the door, didn’t seem very intimidating. If not for Lei Shi’s imposing presence, Xu Lian and the others would probably have rushed inside long ago.

With a Tibetan Mastiff watching them like a tiger eyeing its prey, Liu Meiling and the group weren’t foolish enough to actually barge forward to their deaths.

”Who are you... living in my niece’s house... You couldn’t be some kept man that ungrateful girl raised, could you?”

Xu Lian, pinned by Lei Shi and unable to move, was terrified, yet her words remained impolite.

Yan Feng glanced at Xu Lian with a sharp look and scoffed, ”I don’t need to tell you who I am. As for Huo Sining being your niece, neither your word nor mine counts. It’ll only count when Huo Sining says so herself!”

As he spoke, he pulled out his phone from his pocket and directly called Huo Sining.

Receiving a call from Yan Feng, Huo Sining was somewhat surprised but still picked up the phone quickly.

”Some people have come to the villa, claiming to be your uncle and aunt and wanting to celebrate the New Year at your house. I’ve stopped them at the entrance; they’re making a scene outside now.”

Yan Feng said it gently, but he was sneering inwardly.

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Huo Sining’s expression immediately darkened. She replied coldly, ”I don’t recognize them. Have security kick them out!”

Yan Feng switched on the speakerphone, and Huo Sining’s words were broadcast clearly and heard far and wide, even by the neighbors who were watching.

The neighbors looked at Xu Lian and her group as if they were looking at swindlers, and the faces of Xu Lian and Liu Meiling and the others changed drastically.

Xu Lian wanted to snatch the phone to confront Huo Sining, but there was a fierce dog above her head, leaving her wanting but powerless.

Yan Feng hung up the phone, crossed his arms, and looked at Liu Meiling and the others with a sneer:

”So, what’s it going to be? The homeowner says she doesn’t know you. Will you leave on your own, or shall we have security escort you out?”

Xu Lian trembled with rage and shouted, ”I raised her for eighteen years, and this is how she treats me? I’ve painstakingly raised an ingrate that won’t even acknowledge her own uncle and aunt! Give me the phone number, and I’ll give her a piece of my mind!”

Huo Sining clearly didn’t want to be entangled with these people, and with Xu Lian’s kind of attitude, if Huo Sining dealt with her directly, it would surely be a headache. Yan Feng wasn’t foolish enough to give Xu Lian the number.

As they faced off, Old Lady Song, who had unintentionally caused trouble earlier, was already approaching with several burly security guards, gesturing towards them and saying:

”These are the people. They deceived me into thinking they were Huo Sining’s relatives, so I let them in. But it turned out they were imposters. Luckily, Auntie Li didn’t open the door; who knows what would’ve happened otherwise!”
