Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 364: Chapter 360 Preparation Before Going to the Imperial Capital

The wishful thinking of these people clinked loudly, yet not one of them realized that Huo Sining, as early as the moment of her fallout with the Huo family, was no longer a pawn to be manipulated by others.

They could scheme all they wanted against Huo Sining, but it would only work if she was willing to cooperate.

Xu Lian’s confidence was baffling, actually expecting a share of Huo Sining’s research institute and even having the audacity to assume it was her due.

Huo Sining had no clue about the Huo family’s intentions, or she would have definitely laughed her head off.

After learning the verdict for Zhang Jun and Wu Jingyi, Huo Sining stopped fretting over it. After carefully unraveling the two pieces of Hetian jade from the basement, she went to find Yan Feng for help with crafting a few sets of jewelry and curios.

Carving these items would take at least a week, and Huo Sining had specifically calculated the time, with half a month left until the New Year. A week later, she would go with Master Huang to the Imperial Capital and just in time for the ancestral worship on the twenty-fourth day of the twelfth lunar month.

However, upon learning of Huo Sining’s plan, Yan Feng gave her a disdainful look, picked up the two pieces of Hetian jade casually to inspect them, and suddenly muttered a few strange phrases under his breath.

Soon a white pearl emerged and spun rapidly on Yan Feng’s forehead. Invisible and colorless spiritual energy also began to gather slowly in the palm of his right hand, and in no time, sharp wind blades flew out from his palm, heading straight for the two pieces of Hetian jade.

This situation continued for a few minutes, and Huo Sining saw those wind blades hit the Hetian jade pieces, leaving shallow marks on the stone after they passed over them.

She was puzzled, not knowing what Yan Feng was up to, but her eyes quickly widened in amazement, her mouth gaping open almost unable to close.

A few minutes later, Yan Feng retracted the spiritual energy, the Wind Spirit Pearl disappeared, and the two pieces of Hetian jade on the table seemed unchanged. However, when Yan Feng blew gently on one of the jade pieces, stone chips danced in the air, and the jade lost its support, collapsing in a heap on the table.

Only then did Huo Sining realize that, in the span of just a few minutes, the wind blades had carved out several jade bracelets and pendant plaques from the stones.

Moreover, the patterns and shapes carved on these finished products were distinctly different, exquisitely elegant, and the craftsmanship was so natural that even experts would surely praise them as rare hand-carved treasures.

Now Huo Sining looked at Yan Feng in a different light, no wonder the guy was a world-renowned master sculptor; it turned out he had a cheat code.

The Wind Spirit Pearl could even be used like that, and Huo Sining was impressed.

Seeing his proficiency, it was no wonder that when he agreed to come out of retirement, he only stressed working three days a week. Before, Huo Sining thought Yan Feng was just being a diva, but now it seemed he had been modest.

With such large pieces of jade turned into more than ten sets of exquisite jewelry in an instant, other master sculptors would have taken at least ten days to do the same. However, in Yan Feng’s hands, with a Wind Spirit Pearl and a whirl of Wind Blade, it took only three minutes. No wonder he could afford to be so arrogant.

While marveling at Yan Feng’s craftsmanship, Huo Sining also felt wronged about her recent efforts in the basement with stone gambling. With such a skilled Wind Blade master around, her work on stone gambling and polishing seemed utterly superfluous. Huo Sining was close to crying over her own foolishness.

She wouldn’t let a worker she hired go to waste. Huo Sining naturally chose to exploit the labor power and extract surplus value, so without the slightest hesitation, she dragged Yan Feng to the basement and pulled out dozens of pieces of Hetian jade and jadeite from her storage space, asking him to help with the gambling and carving.

Yan Feng was not impatient either, spending a few more minutes turning those pieces of jade she held into finished products.

A pile of jade materials had turned into a large box of jade jewelry and ornaments, and Huo Sining’s eyes almost sparkled with greed. What a joke, with such an amazing master sculptor, she could open a jewelry store!

Of course, Huo Sining herself would definitely not stoop to doing such a tacky thing. Bai Yishan’s studio was relying on her to supply the raw materials in order to survive. If she were to start her own shop, Jade Beauty would certainly not be able to continue.

Moreover, asking Yan Feng to do this would definitely consume his Spiritual Energy. Once or twice might be okay, but if it was every day, he would definitely walk away, abandoning the task.

Although that’s what she thought, Huo Sining was still pleasantly surprised by Yan Feng’s skills. Women love jewelry, and no one would complain about having too much of it.

Since the jade carvings were finished so quickly, Huo Sining naturally had to make new plans. She was thinking of going to the Imperial Capital after a week, but it seemed her plans could be moved up now.

When she mentioned this to Master Huang, he naturally agreed without hesitation.

Having lived in S City for such a long time, he really missed home.

And now that he could walk a long distance with the help of a cane, it wouldn’t be long before he could discard the cane and move freely.

Master Huang couldn’t wait to return to the capital, to show off his reborn legs to his old comrades.

Huo Sining understood Master Huang’s feelings. Being chronically ill and wheelchair-bound for so many years were hard for a young general who once galloped across the battlefield. Being pitied and sympathized with like a disabled person was like falling from the clouds into hell—a blow that not everyone could bear.

Master Huang had been frustrated for so many years, and finally, he could hold his head high again. He must have been impatient.

To set off for the capital as soon as possible, Huo Sining arranged all her affairs in just one day.

Although Xianyu Shop had only been open for half a year, its business was very good.

Wu Jun had passed Huo Sining’s assessment, and she now truly regarded him as one of her own. Huo Sining was never stingy with her people, so the year-end bonus she gave Wu Jun was definitely generous.

Xianyu Shop’s business was even better than usual ahead of the New Year, especially auspicious ornamental fish were very popular. Huo Sining wanted to let Wu Jun close the shop for the holiday, but he was stubborn and refused.

Huo Sining was helpless and agreed. Fortunately, Yaya was on winter break and could help Wu Jun.

In addition to this, she had Grandma Li brought to Xianyu Shop as well.

Li Quan and his grandma depended on each other. This time Huo Sining was taking Li Quan to the Imperial Capital, leaving Grandma Li alone during New Year’s. Worried she would be too lonely and fearing something might happen to her, Huo Sining decided to have Grandma Li stay at Xianyu Shop.

Initially, Grandma Li felt a little embarrassed, but once she arrived at Xianyu Shop, with Wu Ya, the young girl, there to cheer her up, the old woman quickly got used to it.

Yan Feng and the auntie chef remained in the villa, and how they would deal with the New Year’s bustle was something Huo Sining did not concern herself with, leaving it up to Yan Feng and the auntie to arrange themselves.
