Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 392: Chapter 388: Selling You a Dog Hair

Huo Sining involuntarily furrowed his brow upon hearing Liang Junqi say ”money is no object,” casting a displeased glance at her, ”I told you, my dog is not for sale!”

Huo Sining didn’t want to waste his breath on such a person and coldly spat out a sentence.

But that just seemed to aggravate Liang Junqi, her gaze landing on Heitan with a look of determined acquisition flashing in her eyes, ”Ten thousand, how about it!?”

Gu Xu couldn’t help but let out a snort of laughter upon hearing this, then turned around to take a good look at the woman in front of him—no, more accurately, a girl.

This girl appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen, probably even younger than Huo Sining, but she was wearing high heels and had put on a gothic outfit, as if trying to seem more mature.

She had applied a very heavy smoky makeup, yet the greed and cunning in her eyes couldn’t be concealed by the thick layers of cosmetics, making it extremely uncomfortable to look at her.

”Ten thousand?” Huo Sining smiled harmlessly and said leisurely, ”Sure.”

Upon hearing this, Liang Junqi’s face immediately lit up with joy as she eagerly asked, ”Really? Great, here’s ten thousand. I’ll take the dog!”

As she was about to pull a stack of RMB out of her bag, excitedly ready to pay Huo Sining, she didn’t expect to be interrupted by him the next second.

”Ten thousand, I’ll sell you a single dog hair.”

Huo Sining’s tone remained unhurried, but as soon as he spoke, Liang Junqi’s face turned livid.

Her complexion instantly darkened, ”What do you mean?! You bitch, you dare to play me?!”

After saying this, Liang Junqi seemed ready to lash out at Huo Sining, but stopped short upon seeing Heitan leisurely lying at Huo Sining’s feet, with Gu Xu standing next to him, a chill in his eyes.

Honestly, Huo Sining was a sincere person and rarely made things embarrassing for others, but this girl seemed too presumptuous, commanding and desperate from the get-go, which inexplicably made Huo Sining very uncomfortable, so she didn’t hesitate to give the girl a taste of her sharp tongue.

”Who’s playing whom here? Ten thousand, don’t you find that laughable?”

It wasn’t that Huo Sining was naturally sarcastic, it was just that the girl’s offer was absurdly low; even an ordinary Tibetan Mastiff pup might not sell for ten thousand, let alone the fact that her Heitan was a top-tier purebred Tibetan Mastiff. The offer of ten thousand was practically an insult to him.

Huo Sining didn’t even want to speak with such a person, and she had already stated upfront she wasn’t selling. The girl had been insistent on making an offer, and pushing the price extremely low, making Huo Sining feel both annoyed and amused, and she couldn’t help but look at Liang Junqi as if she were an idiot.

”Miss, nobody’s playing you, ten thousand might really just get you a few hairs from this pup!”

Huo Sining had no desire to entangle with this woman and was about to walk away with Gu Xu when suddenly, at that moment, an unfamiliar man emerged from the crowd.

”Luo Cheng, what are you doing here?”

Liang Junqi obviously knew the newcomer. She turned around, saw the man who had spoken, and was immediately taken aback, unable to stop herself from asking.

For a moment, both Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s attention shifted onto this man called Luo Cheng.

The man appeared to be in his mid-thirties, clutching a small snuff bottle in his hand, clearly here to find bargains at Antique Street.

Luo Cheng didn’t look at Liang Junqi, but instead fixed his gaze on Heitan at Huo Sining’s feet and asked, ”Miss, if I’m not mistaken, your purebred Tibetan Mastiff is a descendant of the Mastiff King, right? A pure pedigree and commanding presence, that’s a fine dog!”

As soon as Luo Cheng said this, Huo Sining lifted her head in surprise and took a few looks at the man named Luo Cheng, and couldn’t help but laugh and say, ”Sir, you really do have a sharp eye!”

With that, she had confirmed the pup’s royal Mastiff lineage. Luo Cheng, who had been merely probing, suddenly showed excitement in his eyes upon hearing Huo Sining’s affirmation.

Huo Sining didn’t expect Luo Cheng to recognize Heitan’s identity at a glance; even she and Huang Chengyi, who lived with Heitan day and night, had not discerned Heitan’s uniqueness. This man had taken one look and made such an accurate judgment—his discernment alone was worthy of admiration.

Perhaps noticing the admiration in Huo Sining’s eyes, Luo Cheng said somewhat sheepishly,

”To be honest with you, miss, I run a Kennel Garden in the suburbs, dealing in the business of pups, so I usually know the breed of a dog at first glance.”

Luo Cheng smiled, but his eyes were constantly locked on Heitan and couldn’t bear to shift away.

If it were just a matter of money, he wouldn’t be so perturbed; the problem lay in the fact that, in the Tibetan Mastiff trading market, even purebred Tibetan Mastiffs were priceless, not to mention the Mastiff King’s offspring.

Back in the millennium, someone in their circle had once offered five million RMB for a purebred descendant of the Mastiff King, but so many years had passed, and that person had still not succeeded.

Times change; over seven to eight years, the price of Tibetan Mastiffs had skyrocketed, let alone the Mastiff King’s pups. The price was feared to have multiplied several times over.

That’s why Luo Cheng said ten thousand RMB could only buy a few dog hairs; if Heitan truly were of Mastiff King’s bloodline, then its value might be tens of millions. Although saying ten thousand RMB could only buy a few hairs was an exaggeration, purchasing an offspring of the Mastiff King was absolutely a fanciful daydream.

Dog breeders’ fondness for Tibetan Mastiffs was indisputable, especially after dealing with many dog breeds, one would grow increasingly fond of the almost perfect wildness and loyalty of Tibetan Mastiffs. So to encounter a purebred descendant of the Mastiff King, it was no wonder Luo Cheng was thrilled.

”Miss, would you be willing to part with this Tibetan Mastiff? I know the descendants of the Mastiff King are rare, but I am very interested in your dog, and if you are willing to transfer it to me, we can definitely negotiate a good price. I am willing to offer fifteen million RMB to buy it!”

Luo Cheng calculated in his mind and finally quoted a price of fifteen million RMB.

When Liang Junqi and Huo Sining had their conflict earlier, several people had gathered around. Now, when they heard Luo Cheng offer fifteen million RMB for a pup, even more bystanders were drawn, each staring dumbfounded at the pup at Huo Sining’s feet.

Liang Junqi was stunned too.

She had never imagined that such an unremarkable, dark little pup could actually be a descendant of the Mastiff King!

Liang Junqi looked at Heitan lying calmly at Huo Sining’s feet with a flash of jealousy in her eyes.

The ferocity of an offspring of the Mastiff King was incomparable to that of ordinary dogs—no wonder her black-back had been so frightened.

Liang Junqi felt a wave of regret and discontent—had she quoted a higher price earlier, would that Tibetan Mastiff now be hers?
