Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 396: Chapter 392 All Hit

Where there was water, it became Huo Sining’s home court.

Games like this seemed specially designed for her, and of course, they were extremely easy for Huo Sining.

Huo Sining’s gaze fell upon the vat of porcelain fragments, her lips curling slightly.

”Sounds quite interesting, so I’ll give it a try,” Huo Sining said, feigning disinterest.

Receiving the gloves handed to her by the clerk, Huo Sining did not put them on. Instead, she plunged her hand directly into the vat to rummage through it.

Azure Pearl’s appraisal skills were not to be belittled. No sooner had she entered the water than Huo Sining found a genuine porcelain fragment within a minute. She did not stop there but continued to search.

Ji Kun watched from the side, and as he saw Huo Sining’s haphazard method of searching, a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.

Back in Hetian, Ji Kun had deliberately tested Huo Sining and found that her theoretical foundation on Hetian jade was very solid, and her desire to learn was extremely strong; these were the reasons why Ji Kun wanted to introduce Huo Sining to his teacher.

But now, watching Huo Sining select porcelain pieces, with her apparent cluelessness about porcelain appraisal and not even mastering the basic assessment of biscuit and glaze, Ji Kun wondered if his teacher would truly appreciate such a student.

Ji Kun was somewhat doubtful and shaken. Had he really misjudged her?

As these thoughts wandered through his mind, Huo Sining had already picked out all ten porcelain fragments. She laid them out on the table and said with skepticism:

”All these fragments look the same to me. Are you sure there are both real and fake pieces here? It wouldn’t be a set-up designed to deceive people, would it?”

Ji Kun’s mouth twitched involuntarily. ”I can guarantee with my personal integrity that this game is real. There indeed are ten genuine porcelain fragments that can be assembled into an authentic piece of porcelain. Are you sure you don’t want to choose again? Less than ten minutes have passed, you still have over twenty minutes left.”

With an air of nonchalance, Huo Sining shrugged her shoulders and laughed, ”Real or fake, I can’t tell them apart, my eyes are getting blurry from looking. It’s all guesswork anyway; might as well just pick at random and leave it to fate.”

Ji Kun had harbored some expectations, but upon hearing Huo Sining’s words, the light of hope in his eyes vanished completely. He no longer had the interest to see what the results of Huo Sining’s selections would be and waved his hand as he turned to walk back into the store.

Meanwhile, the clerk began counting the ten porcelain fragments selected by Huo Sining because some of the pieces did not match and could not be fitted together.

Therefore, the clerk came up with a method. Using a black oil-based ink pen that couldn’t be washed off with water, they marked each of the three hundred porcelain shards with a numbered code on the back. The ten genuine porcelain fragments each had a unique number code as well.

In this manner, all the clerk had to do was compare the string of numbers with the codes on the back of the fragments chosen by Huo Sining to quickly determine whether the pieces she selected were genuine or not.

At first, the clerk didn’t pay much attention, casually noting down the code on a small porcelain fragment. However, as she noted the numbers, something felt off - the sequence seemed familiar.

Immediately, she pulled out the genuine porcelain code sheet, and to the clerk’s astonishment, the code on that small porcelain shard matched exactly with one of the genuine porcelain fragments!

This meant that among the ten randomly chosen porcelain pieces by Huo Sining, there was one genuine piece!

The clerk felt stunned, a flash of surprise in her eyes as she thought to herself how lucky this girl was.

She attributed this to Huo Sining’s luck, because before this, the four clerks in their store had also played this game. They all guessed randomly, but they were all very unlucky, completely wiped out, not a single piece of porcelain they picked was genuine.

But very soon, the clerk would not think this way.

One piece, two pieces... She carefully compared the codes on the back of the ten porcelain fragments picked out by Huo Sining.

After the comparison, she could hardly believe her eyes. She checked again, doubtingly, and after confirming there were no mistakes, her face stiffened, and she was stunned.

One or two pieces might be chalked up to luck, but all ten? Could this still be called luck?

The clerk had heard Professor Ji say in person that not even one of his proud students had ever reached the standard of five pieces of porcelain, and that was within a time limit of half an hour.

But this girl in front of her had clearly spent less than ten minutes doing it. This was just too incredible!

At this moment, the clerk also realized something was amiss. This girl had acted completely casual in front of Ji Kun as if she knew nothing about porcelain, but now the results had taken everyone by surprise. Could she have been feigning ignorance?

”Beautiful sister, how many pieces did I get right?”

Huo Sining watched the clerk with a teasing smile, whistling cheekily as she asked.

But the cunning look in her eyes was obvious, as if she was just playing with them.

The clerk came back to her senses, then stammered, ”All ten are correct!”

Huo Sining immediately snapped her fingers and asked with a laugh, ”Professor Ji just mentioned that if someone got them all right, they would receive a big surprise from your store. What is the big surprise?”

Huo Sining was quite interested in this, but the clerk stiffened upon hearing this.

Because Ji Kun had assumed nobody could pick out all ten genuine porcelain pieces within half an hour, his mention of a big surprise was just an offhand remark; in fact, there was no such option among their game rewards.

Now that Huo Sining had found all ten genuine porcelain pieces in less than ten minutes, she was asking what the big surprise was, but how could the clerk know what the big surprise was?

She gave an embarrassed smile and said, ”Miss, I’m sorry, I’ve just started working here and am not clear about the highest level reward of this game, I need to consult our boss to know for sure, please wait a moment.”

Huo Sining listened to her without objection. The clerk was just about to go find their boss for clarification when she saw Ji Kun and their boss walking over. The clerk immediately felt like she’d seen a savior and eagerly approached them.

”Professor Ji, your friend just picked out all ten genuine porcelain fragments, and she is asking about the reward.”

The boss was taken aback, but Professor Ji’s face changed drastically upon hearing this, he looked at the clerk incredulously: ”What did you say? All correct? You didn’t make a mistake?”

The clerk shook her head: ”Definitely no mistake, I’ve checked several times. The code numbers all match, there’s no error.”
