Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 283: Chapter 280 Du Yanlin’s Poisonous Move

Liu Ming and Huo Biao went to the hospital for laser photography, and sure enough, each of them had different degrees of bone fractures.

The only one who was injured without clear cause was probably Skinny Monkey, he had no idea how his arm got dislocated.

”Captain Liu, this incident can’t be taken lightly, those people were too arrogant!”

”Exactly, assaulting police officers is a serious crime, I say lock that guy up for a few years and he’ll behave!”

”It’s Huo Sining who’s the main culprit, she was the first to start the trouble!”

Accompanying Liu Ming, Huo Biao, and the others to the hospital were of course the instigators of the incident, Zhu Jianliang, Du Yanlin, and Xue Jingjing. Seeing the medical reports of Liu Ming and the others, they immediately started chattering with suggestions.

However, Du Yanlin didn’t think it was her fault. On the contrary, seeing Huo Sining in conflict with the police, Du Yanlin felt very excited, spitefully hoping that Huo Sining would be sentenced and directly expelled from S University.

She even silently thought to herself that she would immediately go to the university forum to post once she got back to school, with the title, ”New Student with the Surname Huo from S University’s School of Biological Sciences Assaults Police and Injures Several, May Be Criminally Detained”.

Hearing what Zhu Jianliang and the others said, Captain Liu looked grim, coldly eyeing Zhu Jianliang and his group, ”I heard that Biaozi took action this time to vent for you guys. Are you going to cover the medical expenses?”

Hearing this, Du Yanlin and Xue Jingjing fell silent. What a joke, the person wasn’t injured by us, why should we pay for it?

Zhu Jianliang, cunning as ever, laughed and said, ”Of course, Captain Liu, you and Biaozi share a bond of loyalty, and since this happened because of us, we will certainly cover the expenses!”

Considering herself Zhu Jianliang’s girlfriend, Du Yanlin naturally thought of his money as her own. Hearing Zhu Jianliang take on the matter so confidently, she immediately felt unhappy:

”Captain Liu, that Huo Sining is a wealthy person. She used to live in the same dorm with us. She wouldn’t bat an eye even for makeup worth four or five thousand yuan. I also heard she opened some store around Chenghuang Temple and made a pretty penny. You should make her pay the medical fees, it would be best if she was driven to bankruptcy!”

Captain Liu’s heart tightened upon hearing this. Those who run shops around Chenghuang Temple are wealthy, and wealthy people usually have backing. He wondered if he had crossed some formidable person this time.

”Is Huo Sining’s family well-off? What do her parents do?” Captain Liu anxiously inquired, fearing he had offended someone untouchable.

Seeing Liu Ming so anxious, Du Yanlin instantly understood what he was thinking and couldn’t help but sneer:

”Don’t worry, that woman has no background. She’s not a local, she came from Bashu to attend school. According to her student record, she’s even an orphan. Who knows what kind of damned luck she had to make a fortune, just enough to open a shop in Chenghuang Temple. Such a person doesn’t have the capital to be arrogant. Captain Liu, you can do as you please, can’t you?”

It was by chance that Du Yanlin saw Huo Sining’s student record. Because there was so much to do at the beginning of the semester, the counselor was overwhelmed and asked several female students to help sort out the records.

It so happened that at that time, Huo Sining received a notice to transfer departments. The counselor asked Du Yanlin and others to find Huo Sining’s file to prepare it for transfer to the College of Biology, and so Du Yanlin just happened to see Huo Sining’s student record.

As for the matter of opening a shop, Du Yanlin obtained that information by making conversation with Luo Jinzhi. Luo Jinzhi had visited the Xianyu Shop only a handful of times and since she wasn’t much of a talker, the useful information Du Yanlin extracted was limited, merely knowing Huo Sining opened a shop at Chenghuang Temple. However, as for what kind of shop and its scale, she had no idea whatsoever.

Nonetheless, Du Yanlin didn’t think someone like Huo Sining would have any backers. An orphan who had been in S City for merely half a year, how many people could she possibly know? Having angered the police and been hauled into the station, wasn’t she just someone to be kneaded and shaped by others at will? Perhaps, to be released, she might even lose her shop!

It must be said that Du Yanlin had a bit of a malicious streak. Hearing about Huo Sining’s shop opening had filled her with immense jealousy. Although her family wasn’t wealthy, she was still somewhat aware of the Chenghuang Temple area.

Opening a shop in that area, no matter the size, she must have made no small amount of money. No wonder that cheap wench, Huo Sining, was so generous; she casually gifted Luo Jinzhi, that country bumpkin, a set of makeup worth four to five thousand yuan without batting an eye.

From talking to Liu Ming, Du Yanlin knew that he was someone who’d devour others without spitting out the bones. Huo Sining’s friend had injured him, and he would undoubtedly seek vengeance tenfold or a hundredfold. Now that he had heard that Huo Sining, a loner in S City, had opened a shop, was it so strange that he harbored ulterior motives?

Indeed, Du Yanlin had a knack for gauging people’s mentality. Once she mentioned it, Liu Ming’s heart leaped with joy. A gleam of determination flashed in his eyes, a look of ensuring victory crossing his features, and after tending to his wound, he headed straight to the police station while remembering to call the station chief on his way.

”Captain, someone’s bringing us a windfall!”

In the Luwan District Police Station, most officers were out on patrol, with only a few left behind chatting idly, looking bored, when they saw Officer Zhang leading several people in.

Aside from a man in his twenties or thirties, there was also a woman holding a three-or-four-year-old child, Little Bun, and an elderly lady in her sixties or seventies.

Those who were chatting found the situation peculiar. Although all sorts of people might turn up at the police station, seeing this group of the old, the weak, women, and children dragging family along was somewhat unusual.

Originally, they thought Huo Sining and her company had come to the police station to file a complaint, but to their surprise, as soon as Officer Zhang entered, he led the group straight to the interrogation room, with all the demeanor of escorting suspects.

This left everyone bewildered, exchanging confused looks, unsure of what was happening.

”Officer Zhang, what’s going on? Weren’t you on duty with Captain Liu? How come only you’re back? Where’s the captain?”

Captain Li Wei from another unit, seeing the situation, couldn’t help but ask, while casting a puzzled glance at Gu Xu’s group.

Officer Zhang led Gu Xu’s group into the interrogation room, and his hanging heart finally settled.

He felt intimidated by Gu Xu, but now back on his home turf, he spoke with newfound firmness. Seeing Li Wei questioning him, his expression froze, and he replied:

”Captain Li, Captain Liu got injured by these folks while out on duty. These people were fighting and detaining others on S University Snack Street and even wounded the captain. The captain’s gone to the hospital now, he asked me to bring these few back for questioning first.”

Liu Ming got injured?!

Li Wei was suddenly taken aback, and the other officers listening attentively to the commotion were also stunned.
