Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 255: Chapter 252 Spiritual Energy Temptation Chapter 255: Chapter 252 Spiritual Energy Temptation The dolphins eating rice balls were one thing, as everyone thought that the three dolphins were just force-fed a few rice balls by Huo Sining and couldn’t spit them out, just giving face to Huo Sining, their life-saver. However, they were soon utterly dumbfounded.

After eating a few rice balls, the three dolphins still found it unsatisfying. They lifted their bodies, rubbed against Huo Sining’s arm, and acted coyly, showing an eager yearning for more. However, at this time, the porcelain bowl in Huo Sining’s hand was empty again.

Although the Spiritual Energy was beneficial for the dolphins’ health, Huo Sining dared not extract too much, fearing that the dolphins might undergo a change in bloodline and eventually bring disaster.

Moreover, the supply of Spiritual Energy was not infinite, so after finishing feeding the bowl of rice, she didn’t go for any more and remained unmoved despite the three dolphins’ hopeful stares.

While Huo Sining hardened her heart, Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan were melted by the pitiful, drenched appearance of the three dolphins. They immediately ran toward the kitchen, with overflowing compassion and love, and returned with a large pot of plain rice in no time.

Huo Sining: …

Everyone: …

Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan excitedly shaped the rice into balls and waved them in their hands over the sea, trying to attract the attention of the three cute dolphins.

However, to Su Qingqing and Bai Yishan’s disappointment, the three dolphins seemed to ignore the food in their hands and were instead fixated on Huo Sining, with their heads raised expectantly.

Huo Sining found it amusing, knowing that dolphins were quite picky eaters. If she hadn’t infused the Spiritual Energy into those rice balls, why would these creatures defy all logic to eat plain rice balls that tasted as bland as wax? This must be a joke, right?

Su Qingqing refused to give up. Seeing that the rice balls weren’t working, she turned around and fished out a live fish that Qin Tian had just caught from the bucket behind her.

Upon seeing this, Qin Tian’s expression changed instantly. Big sister, that’s our competition trophy. We still have to go for the final judgment later, you aren’t really going to feed it to the dolphins, are you?

Su Qingqing didn’t care about that and started to shake the live fish at the dolphins.

The two adult dolphins showed no interest, but the young dolphin swam over to her.

Seeing this, Su Qingqing instantly felt a surge of joy, but to her surprise, the young dolphin sniffed the fish, then turned around and flicked its tail, splashing Su Qingqing’s face with seawater.

The seawater trickled down Su Qingqing’s cheeks and dripped onto the deck, soaking it.

Her face alternated between shades of green and white, and she was embarrassingly drenched. She couldn’t help but glare fiercely at the young dolphin.

But the young dolphin looked triumphant, even circling around in the water, leaving Su Qingqing utterly vexed.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but find it hilarious. This little guy was just too funny.

Thinking of those three dolphins reminded Huo Sining of the hundreds of kilograms of ambergris under the sea near the island.

She did think about having the dolphins guide her to it, but with so many people around, she naturally couldn’t be so brazen as to head there now. She could only wait for another opportunity.

After playing with the dolphins for a while, Huo Sining and Su Qingqing went back to the cabin to change their clothes.

The dolphins must have realized that Huo Sining wouldn’t be giving them any more taste of the Spirit of Azure Pearl today, so they reluctantly turned and swam away.

By this point in the competition, Huo Sining’s catch was larger than the other three groups combined, and everyone knew very well that with Huo Sining, the master at baiting, they definitely wouldn’t win this contest.

Ouyang Jun’s expression was somewhat embarrassed. Not long ago, he had boldly claimed that fishing was not something women were good at. Huo Sining proved him wrong with a demonstration that seriously slapped him in the face, and now Ouyang Jun no longer dared to say that women weren’t up to the task.

As time slowly approached noon according to Zheng Huaqing’s itinerary, they would return after lunch, so they were not planning to continue the competition any longer.

Just as everyone began to reel in their rods in preparation to leave, suddenly Gu Xu’s rod was pulled by a tremendous force, bending it into a steep arc.

A fish was hooked!

Gu Xu’s face tensed up as he quickly wound the reel while slowly moving towards the back of the deck.

Sitting near the mast, Zheng Huaqing noticed the commotion and turned around just in time to see a white fish stir up huge waves on the surface of the sea. He stood up from his chair, excitedly shouting to the old captain, “Old Fang! We’ve got a big one!”

The old captain was taken aback by the news, and the others stopped their reeling to peer over at the sea.

Gu Xu, who was from the military, was incredibly strong, but now he staggered several times, nearly being pulled into the sea by the large fish.

Gu Xu’s brows immediately furrowed, and he calmly grasped the rod and reel in his hands.

Seeing this, Zheng Huaqing quickly handed Gu Xu a pair of leather gloves; the thin fishing line was painful to pull on with bare hands, and leather gloves would give him a better grip.

Ouyang Jun and Song Hui also rushed over to help.

Everyone stood up and watched the fishing line tighten with excitement, anticipating the big catch that was about to be landed.

Soon, the fish appeared about a dozen meters from the gunwale, its white belly tumultuously struggling.

This fish was clever, occasionally turning to swim in the opposite direction. Realizing it was restrained, it would wheel around and head towards the bottom of the boat, swimming swiftly and pulling Gu Xu’s rod now bent, now straight.

Seeing the black silhouette of the fish, the experienced old captain’s face showed excitement, “It’s a beautiful Golden Spearfish, at least fifty or sixty kilograms!”

With those words, he turned and headed straight for the wheelhouse, calling out as he went, “This fish is too big; we need to wear out its strength. I’m going to drive the boat, dragging it along!”

The boat was soon controlled to move slowly, revealing the Golden Spearfish hidden beneath it. After more than ten minutes, Gu Xu and his two companions tussled with the cunning fish, exhausting its last bit of energy.

Experienced crew members had been ready and waiting, and as the fish was dragged to the edge of the boat, young, strong sailors immediately speared its back with a harpoon and lifted the entire fish out of the water.

The fish was finally landed, and upon seeing the Golden Spearfish over a meter long, everyone aboard clicked their tongues in admiration.

Old Fang took a drag of his cigarette, puzzled, “Golden Spearfish are not so easy to catch; they easily unhook. The fish today is really strange; I’ve never seen such struggling in my life. It’s damn eerie.”

Huo Sining smiled inwardly, how could it possibly unhook with Spiritual Energy as bait? Having tasted the sweetness, why would the creature let go?

But of course, this was something Huo Sining would never say out loud. She looked at the Golden Spearfish on deck, still reluctantly glaring, and chuckled to herself, “Whom can it blame but itself for being too greedy? If it had let go, it certainly wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

Huo Sining’s gaze involuntarily shifted to the endless sea, looking out into the distance.

The boat slowly turned back, and they were all set to make their way home.

However, not far along, Huo Sining’s eyes paused, landing on a black dot several nautical miles away.
