Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 279: Chapter 276: Elder Madam She Arrives

Though it happened quickly, a dark shadow suddenly rushed in from the outside and effortlessly kicked Huo Biao aside with an extended leg.

Huo Biao, caught off guard, only felt a strong force colliding with him, and several Niang Qiangs were promptly knocked down in front of a dining table a few meters away.

”Bullying the weak, when did the public safety of S City become so bad?”

Gu Xu looked coldly at Huo Biao and a few hoodlums in front of him, his gaze as if he were looking at a few ants.

A protector lurking somewhere retracted his hand sullenly and snorted coldly. He had originally planned to give Huo Biao a lesson, but Gu Xu, this troublemaker, charged out unexpectedly. Well, that saved Huo Biao from trouble!

Huo Biao wasn’t used to disciplining women and had intended just to kick Huo Sining a few times and be done with it, but Cheng Yaojin intervened unexpectedly.

Seeing a youngster rashly run out, Huo Biao’s expression immediately darkened. Angrily, he glared at Gu Xu, ”You little nobody dares to meddle in my business?! It seems you don’t want to live...”

Before Huo Biao could finish speaking, there was a loud ’bang,’ and in an instant, Gu Xu had closed the distance and swung a punch at Huo Biao.

Huo Biao couldn’t react in time and only felt a sharp pain on his right cheek, followed by a rush of sweet and metallic taste as a broken tooth mixed with blood was spat out.

”Old man? Who’s your old man? Speaking so rudely, this punch is on behalf of my old man for you!”

Ignoring the hatred and resentment in Huo Biao’s eyes, Gu Xu’s gaze remained chilly.

The aura emanating from Gu Xu froze Huo Biao and the two hoodlums, especially his crisp and powerful move that left them defenseless. Huo Biao and his men were instantly overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, Du Yanlin and Xue Jingjing, who had been smugly waiting at the private room door to watch the commotion, were frightened back into the room.

Huo Biao, not someone unfamiliar with the world, could tell that Gu Xu was trained in martial arts, which instantly made him warier, not daring to act rashly anymore.

Gu Xu inconspicuously glanced at the astonished Huo Sining beside him, a faint smile flashing in his eyes.

”Are you alright?”

Huo Sining shook her head but seemed somewhat surprised to see Gu Xu there, ”How come you are here?”

Just as Gu Xu was about to come up with an excuse, a childish voice suddenly rang out from the crowd, ”Uncle is fighting the bad guy, Uncle is so cool!”

Following the direction of the voice, they saw a little tyke standing not far from the restaurant entrance, holding an Ultraman toy, with chubby hands clapping loudly and round eyes beaming with admiration at the tall and heroic man in the middle.

Huo Biao’s face instantly darkened, and Huo Sining’s forehead was also lined with frustration. Where did this foolish kid come from, utterly clueless about timing? Whose unruly child was this, and why wasn’t anyone taking care of him?

Just then, an Old Granny appeared, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Gu Xu in the middle of the crowd and gave a thumbs up, ”Son, that punch just now was so handsome! Show your old mother a few more moves!”

Shocked, Huo Sining looked back and forth between the Old Granny and the child, then at the twitching-lipped hero nearby, and quickly figured out the relationship between this family.

A boisterous child, a goofy Old Granny, and a stoic man — Huo Sining couldn’t help but internally criticize: Indeed, as the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together.

Huo Sining didn’t realize that she was also included in her previous statement, because not long after, she would also become a member of that peculiar family.

”Mom, why did you come here instead of staying put in the Imperial Capital?”

Gu Xu had not expected Elder Madam She from his family would actually come to S City, and judging by the looks of it, she probably arrived yesterday and had been following behind him all along.

But Old Granny showed a face of indifference, ”You can come, why can’t I? I just took the opportunity to get out for a bit and relax. Besides, I wanted to see my future daughter-in-law!”

Uh...

Upon hearing this, Gu Xu’s face immediately stiffened, and he subconsciously looked up at Huo Sining.

Why are you looking at me? Huo Sining was stunned for a moment before quickly realizing the meaning behind Old Granny’s words, and her face suddenly flushed red.

Huo Biao and the others stood in place, feeling completely ignored by those four people; they felt it was a blatant slap in the face. How could this be tolerated?

Even though they were wary of Gu Xu’s skills, Huo Biao couldn’t bear being looked down upon like this. He exchanged a glance with another thug and suddenly spun around, as both charged towards the child and the Old Granny.

Huo Sining was still caught in her awkward embarrassment when she saw the two men’s movement and was instantly alarmed. She opened her mouth to shout a warning to the Old Granny to be careful but saw, at that moment, Elder Madam She’s mouth cornering up with a sly smile.

Huo Biao and the thug had already lunged forward, yet the Old Granny’s smile remained unchanged as she moved to meet them with a few shoulder motions.

The Old Granny stretched out her fist while simultaneously sweeping her foot sideways, and ducking her body down, she easily caught one of the thugs and effortlessly flung him far away.

By the time Huo Biao rushed over, Elder Madam She let out a soft snort from the corner of her mouth, caught Huo Biao’s wrist with a backhand grip, and with a strong twist, there was a crack, followed by a pained yelp from Huo Biao.

Once she let go, Huo Biao clutched his elbow joint in agony, his right elbow clearly dislocated.

It all happened in the blink of an eye. Eldar Madam She, with agile movements, dispatched the thugs with just a few moves, leaving Huo Sining amazed as all she saw was a blur before the thugs were already groaning on the ground.

This is like a real-life version of ”Miao Cuihua and Fang Shiyu”, isn’t it? Elder Madam She’s martial arts are simply incredible! Huo Sining admired the Old Granny who had easily taken care of two strong thugs all by herself.

Gu Xu stood still, not even moving an inch, even when Huo Biao and the other thug had rushed over to attack Elder Madam She. He acted as if he had known all along that the thugs were no match for the Old Granny.

Seeing the thugs unable to get up, he just raised an eyebrow and looked helplessly at Elder Madam She before shaking his head, ”Mom, have you had enough fun?”

Madam Gu rotated her wrist a few times, casting an annoyed glance at her son:

”What do you mean ’fun’? They bullied my daughter-in-law, am I not supposed to teach them a lesson? Why don’t these people, able-bodied and young, do something decent instead of choosing to be riffraff and thugs?”

Hearing these words, Huo Sining’s face instantly turned red all the way to the roots of her ears; she and Gu Xu had no relationship whatsoever, how could the Old Granny...

The corners of Gu Xu’s mouth uncontrollably twitched as he anxiously observed Huo Sining’s reaction. Seeing that she was not angry, he finally relaxed and said urgently:

”There is no daughter-in-law here, can you not talk nonsense, please? Moreover, they’re just a few thugs, there was no need for you to step in, please don’t sully your hands over this.”
