Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 278: Chapter 275 Conflict

Having eaten until she was about seventy percent full, Huo Sining was ready to put down her chopsticks when someone suddenly emerged and walked straight up to her table.

”Which one of you two is Huo Sining?”

Huo Sining was taken aback, lifted her head to glance at Luo Jinzhi, then smilingly asked, ”I am. What’s up?”

The person looked Huo Sining up and down and then suddenly said, ”Brother Biao wants you to join him for a drink inside.”

The smile on Huo Sining’s face paused for a moment. She quietly pulled a napkin from the dining table, wiped her mouth clean, and said indifferently:

”Sorry, I don’t drink, nor do I know any Brother Biao. You’d better find someone more suitable. Please excuse us, we’ve finished our meal!”

As she spoke, Huo Sining started to stand up, pulling Luo Jinzhi with her, ready to leave. But then, a pair of arms suddenly stretched out, blocking her path.

”Huo classmate, I’d advise you to be reasonable. Brother Biao is famous for his bad temper. You won’t like the consequences of angering him.”

Huo Sining lifted her head to look at the somewhat arrogant thug in front of her, her lips curled into a cold smirk:

”It was Du Yanlin who sent you, wasn’t it? She doesn’t dare to provoke me herself and thinks she can deal with me by sending a man?”

The thug saw that Huo Sining did not show fear on her face but rather a sense of calm, and he was momentarily unsure whether Huo Sining truly had some powerful backing or was just pretending to be composed.

Taking advantage of this moment, Huo Sining gave a meaningful glance towards Luo Jinzhi, who was tense beside her.

Understanding the cue, Luo Jinzhi got up and quickly slipped past the thug and out of the restaurant, immediately taking out her phone to call Wu Jun.

Huo Biao was slick and sly. The moment he laid eyes on Xue Jingjing, he was captivated and immediately nodded towards Zhu Jianliang, indicating his interest. After a round of showing off and boasting, he almost claimed he was the **** overlord of S City who could turn the world upside down with his power.

Du Yanlin was the sort to climb the social ladder when given the chance. Learning that Huo Biao had some influence in the area, she quickly became opportunistic. On one hand, she was marketing her good friend Xue Jingjing to Huo Biao, calling him ”Brother Biao” affectionately, and when the mood was right after a few drinks, she subtly brought up her grievances with Huo Sining.

Of course, she wouldn’t tell the truth. Instead, she twisted the story, exaggerating and distorting the details, portraying herself as a victim and accusing Huo Sining of wrongdoing. After her tale, she didn’t forget to let a few tears spill from her watery eyes.

Huo Biao was impulsive and not the brightest, taking Du Yanlin’s words at face value, thinking she really had been bullied by this outsider, Huo Sining. With Xue Jingjing chiming in, his ire was further stoked.

Hearing from Xue Jingjing that Huo Sining was eating at a table outside the private room, Huo Biao flew into a rage. He immediately commanded his followers to invite Huo Sining in for a drink, and to apologize to Xue Jingjing and Du Yanlin.

Huo Sining was not a fool; trouble would not seek her out for no reason, and to be summoned by name for a drink, there could only be Du Yanlin and Xue Jingjing, whom she had just seen entering a private room, behind this farce.

Huo Sining did not take this so-called Brother Biao to heart. Du Yanlin and Xue Jingjing were not some rich heiresses who could know very influential people. At most, they knew a bully leader. These types, with a bit of power, do not realize their place, unaware that some people should not be trifled with.

Seeing Luo Jinzhi had successfully fled, Huo Sining breathed a sigh of relief and then lifted her head to address the thug, ”I advise you, if you don’t want trouble, it’s best not to mess with me!”

The thug was just about to say something in response when the door to the private room opened again. Another henchman came out and looked displeased at his colleague:

”Is bringing in a woman that hard? What’s with all this dilly-dallying? If you don’t move, Brother Biao’s going to get mad!”

Speaking, the hoodlum glanced over at Huo Sining with disdain and asked, ”Are you Huo Sining?”

Huo Sining nodded expressionlessly, and the hoodlum’s face twisted into a ferocious grin, ”Then there’s no mistake. The woman who offended our Brother Biao can only blame her lack of foresight. Come with me inside!”

As he spoke, the hoodlum reached out toward Huo Sining. Her expression remained unchanged, but her eyes suddenly turned cold, and her right hand subconsciously reached for her left index finger.

In her previous life, Huo Sining had been robbed of her backpack by a few street thugs, so she had since made a habit of carrying things like pepper spray for self-defense in her backpack.

But with her Space ability, it was no longer necessary to go through such trouble—she didn’t even need a backpack and simply stuffed her self-defense items into her Space.

It was just a precaution; Huo Sining never expected she would need to use such items so soon. She hesitated for a moment, but seeing the hoodlum’s hand reaching out for her, she no longer doubted.

However, the moment she was about to retrieve the pepper spray from her Space, a crack sounded in the air. The hoodlum suddenly let out a pained scream; the hand he had stretched out now dangled limply as if it had been dislocated.

Startled, another hoodlum hurried over and asked, ”What happened?”

Huo Sining was also taken aback, and she quickly unfolded her crossed hands.

The hoodlum fell to the ground, clutching his injured arm and wailing nonstop.

”What did you do?!”

The other hoodlum, having not noticed Huo Sining’s actions, now saw his companion writhing in pain on the ground and immediately misunderstood. Assuming it was Huo Sining’s doing, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and fear, and he looked at Huo Sining, unsure and suspicious.

Huo Sining found it all baffling—she hadn’t done anything, so how had this man’s arm suddenly become dislocated?

”What’s going on here?” Just then, the door to the private room was abruptly pushed open from the inside, and Huo Biao walked out with Xue Jingjing in his arms, pausing in surprise at the scene before him.

”Brother Biao, that scumbag broke Skinny Monkey’s arm!”

The hoodlum continued to howl in pain on the ground, while the other, seeing reinforcements, promptly shouted to Huo Biao.

Huo Biao was taken aback and then flew into a rage, regaining his composure and snarled at the hoodlum:

”What are you standing there for? Why haven’t you killed this bitch yet? Do you need me to do it myself?”

”Brother Biao, this woman seems to know a thing or two. Skinny Monkey didn’t even have the chance to raise a hand before he was taken down by her!”

The hoodlum was somewhat wary of Huo Sining and hesitated upon hearing Huo Biao’s words.

Huo Biao’s face darkened at this news, ”It’s just a woman, and you’re scared like this. Are you even a man? I refuse to believe it, she’s just bluffing with some fancy moves, she can’t be tougher than me!”

As he said this, Huo Biao charged forward and kicked ferociously towards Huo Sining.
