The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

After finishing the portraits, Meng Yunzheng set Dazhuang’s image aside and drew several more for Ms. Wei.

This way, when they arrive at Huajiang Prefecture, they can find someone to look for people using the portraits.

With the last stroke completed, Meng Yunzheng was about to put away the paper and pen when Ms. Yu suddenly spoke up, ”Uh, uncle, could you draw one more?”

Meng Yunzheng turned his head to look at her, ”Draw what?”

”Anything is fine, I’ll have it mounted and hang it in the living room. You’re Master Top Scorer, after all, the top scorer who achieved six consecutive wins. When the neighbors come over, I can tell everyone this is Lele’s uncle, then Lele will be in the limelight.”

Aunt Hong scolded her, ”Is it Lele in the limelight or your vanity?”

Ms. Yu chuckled awkwardly, ”Haven’t there been people asking us in recent years if we’ve lost Lele? If we have this painting, there would be more credibility, wouldn’t there? Those people wouldn’t randomly speculate, thinking Lele got into some trouble.”

Meng Yunzheng pondered for a moment, ”Let’s skip the drawing, I can write a piece of calligraphy.”

He’s Mr. Shanju, although they wouldn’t know without the seal, but there’s no guarantee someone wouldn’t suspect his identity from his drawing habits; he currently prefers to maintain his anonymity.

Ms. Yu didn’t care much about anything, as long as she could hang it on the wall.

Doesn’t calligraphy seem more fitting?

Ms. Yu quickly nodded, ”Sure, a piece of calligraphy is just right for the living room front.”

Seeing that Meng Yunzheng didn’t oppose, Aunt Hong didn’t say anything more, but she gave Ms. Yu a couple of glares.

Meng Yunzheng thought for a moment, then began to write.

His handwriting has always been free and generous, like flowing clouds and water. Even though Ms. Yu doesn’t understand it, she finds it very pleasing.

”Of all virtues, filial piety is foremost.”

After writing these five characters, Meng Yunzheng asked Ms. Yu, ”Are these characters okay?”

Ms. Yu’s mouth twitched; isn’t this a bit of a satire on them?

She felt a bit uncomfortable, but gritted her teeth; satire is as it is, after all, the calligraphy is valuable. Moreover, there are few neighbors who can read, even if she hangs it on the wall, people might not understand what it’s about.

As long as she achieved her purpose of showing off, she didn’t care about anything else.

Ms. Yu immediately clasped her hands and smiled, ”Good, the calligraphy is beautiful, Master Top Scorer is indeed Master Top Scorer.”

Meng Yunzheng took out his personal seal and stamped it, making Ms. Yu even happier; she couldn’t help but reach out and touch the paper, as this was personally inscribed by the top scorer who achieved six consecutive wins, it looked very extraordinary.

Later, she should let her son come and touch this calligraphy; maybe it could rub off some scholarly aura.

Meng Yunzheng tidied up the items, regardless of what Ms. Yu was thinking. Since the task was done, they had to go back.

Aunt Hong didn’t keep him, knowing they were setting out tomorrow and surely had many things to pack today.

She herself also had to prepare.

The two escorted Meng Yunzheng and the others out the yard gate. Once they got on the carriage, Ms. Yu suddenly addressed the curious neighbors outside, ”Master Top Scorer, County Lord Lu, take care!”

Shu Yu and the others: ”...”

After the carriage turned a corner and completely disappeared, the curious neighbors hurriedly asked, ”Ah Mao’s mother, who did you just call? What’s this about Master Top Scorer and County Lord?”

Ms. Yu was about to brag, but Aunt Hong dragged her inside, directly shutting the door.

Aunt Hong slapped her, ”Can you stop?”

Ms. Yu pouted, ”Mother, don’t scold me, I actually have something to ask you.”
