The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Later, Mr. Huai’an’s father passed away, and he escorted the funeral back to his hometown. After the three-year mourning period ended, he did not return to the court but instead traveled around the country.

Throughout his life, he authored numerous works and mentored many students. Some pursued the path of the imperial examination, while others were passionate about other fields. In any case, his stature among scholars was extremely high.

It is said that the previous Emperor wished to have him return to the court, but Mr. Huai’an declined.

But now Meng Yunzheng actually claims he invited this person to his newly established academy?

No matter what, with the fame of Mr. Huai’an, many students would flock to his academy to learn from him.

The Emperor raised his eyebrows, ”In that case, I am reassured. I was also considering, if you are short of people, I could introduce Mr. Hejiang to your academy.”

People in the hall widened their eyes, wondering if they had heard wrong.

Mr. Hejiang???

Mr. Hejiang and Mr. Huai’an are different; he comes from a scholarly family, with ancestors who were esteemed literati, steeped in academic traditions. Thus, he was well-read and knowledgeable from a young age.

However, he never participated in the imperial examination and remains without official rank.

Yet, despite his unranked status, his reputation is widespread.

Everyone who has discussed academic matters with him praises his talent and ability. His knowledge is vast, including many obscure and rare subjects. Even the Master Abbot of the Imperial Temple converses with him about scriptures for days and nights.

The Emperor intends to introduce him to Meng Yunzheng? It seems their relationship is indeed very close.

While people in the hall were still emotional, Meng Yunzheng had already reacted quickly, kneeling to express gratitude, ”Thank you, Your Majesty, for the introduction.”

”Do you not already have Mr. Huai’an?”

”As far as I know, Mr. Huai’an and Mr. Hejiang have never met. Both are scholars of great erudition and probably look forward to meeting and exchanging ideas, exploring unknown realms together. If the two could become teachers at the academy, it would surely lead to unique sparks.”

Sparks? The corner of the Emperor’s mouth twitched; where does this saying come from?

But since he had already discussed it with Mr. Hejiang and Meng Yunzheng had given a starting point, he followed suit, ”You do have a point, but whether or not to go depends on Mr. Hejiang’s own decision.”

The Doctor from the Imperial College could hardly contain himself. Your Majesty, what are you really thinking? Since you are familiar with Mr. Hejiang, why not invite him to the Imperial College?

So many students eagerly await Mr. Hejiang’s arrival, and you directly push him towards Top Scholar Meng instead.

The Doctor could not hold back and was about to step forward to fight for the opportunity.

Meng Yunzheng, quick to notice, immediately kowtowed and expressed gratitude, ”Thank you, Your Majesty. I promise to ensure both teachers feel right at home and will not disappoint Your Majesty’s expectations.”

”Hopefully,” the Emperor waved off, ”Then this military order stands?”

”Yes.”

”Good.” The Emperor patted the Dragon Chair, ”I don’t want you to work in vain. Do you have any other requests?”

Meng Yunzheng indeed had one, ”I request the Emperor to personally inscribe.”

”Inscribe what words?”

”Zhenglu Academy.”

The Emperor, ”...” a mind full of questions? Are you serious?

Meng Yunzheng shamelessly explained, ”Zheng implies standing out prominently, Lu signifies traveling ten thousand miles and reading. Zhenglu Academy means young people bravely face challenges, show their talents, just like the academy.”

Emperor: What nonsense, I think you want to show affection publicly in front of everyone.
