The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

When Shu Yu and a few others returned to the small courtyard south of the city, Xun Sheng and Xie Bo were already gone.

In the study, Meng Yunzheng was painting, and Shu Yu wanted to discuss the matter of Little Song Le with him. Upon entering, she spotted the large artwork spread across his desk, and her eyes lit up.

”Is this... a sunflower field?”

”Yes, isn’t your shop opening in a few days? You can hang it there; it might catch quite a few people’s attention.”

Shu Yu nodded eagerly, admiring the golden sunflower field, and loved it deeply, ”This painting is eye-catching in the shop and can answer questions for the guests, telling them that melon seeds and sunflower oil come from these flowers. They might even buy more because of this beautiful field.”

Putting down his brush, Meng Yunzheng turned his head to her and said with a smile, ”Not just that, I’ll give you an extra advantage.”

”What advantage?”

Meng Yunzheng pulled open a drawer, took out a seal, and pressed it heavily onto the painting.

When the seal was removed, Shu Yu understood what he meant by advantage.

”Mr. Shanju!”

Indeed, Meng Yunzheng has a very famous and valuable alias ’Mr. Shanju’. He only produces one or two paintings a year, and somehow they are highly sought after.

Especially here in the Capital, with many scholars and wealthy people, they are fond of Mr. Shanju’s works.

However, it’s been four years since Mr. Shanju released any new works.

Many suspect that something has happened to him or he has run out of ideas. Otherwise, how could it be that there hasn’t been a new painting in four years?

Due to this, the last painting by Mr. Shanju remains high-priced.

Now, after four years, another of Mr. Shanju’s paintings has appeared, and Shu Yu can already envision the possible uproar in her shop.

She pressed her chest with excitement, her gaze at Mr. Shanju’s seal was so intense that it seemed to burn through the painting.

”No, no, no, no, I can’t just hang it in the shop.”

Meng Yunzheng was taken aback, ”Why not?”

”My shop sells things. If word got out that such a painting was hanging there, scholars and literary enthusiasts might crowd in, preventing genuine customers from coming in. So, it can’t be hung in the shop.”

But she also wanted the painting.

Suddenly, her eyes brightened with an idea, ”There it is, I’ll hang it on the second floor.”

”The second floor?”

”Yes, I’d always been unsure what to use the second floor of the shop for, thinking it could temporarily serve as an office space. Now, I think it can be completely separated from the first floor. I’ll turn it into a tea house.”

”A tea house?”

Shu Yu nodded, ”Yes, hang your painting up, boosted by your reputation. Then put some books on the shelves, set out some tea and snacks. Think about it, scholars pride themselves on their dignity; they wouldn’t enter without buying tea or ordering some snacks, right?”

She had the tea, from the southwest area, which was excellent. She would have Yuan Gui deliver some at a lower price later.

As for snacks, melon seeds would be perfect substitutes. If those scholars find snacking on melon seeds unseemly, it’s okay; Lu’s also sells shelled melon seeds.

Throwing in some other dried fruits would work too.

And there’s Instant Noodles. When these people get engrossed in books or art, they forget about eating. They can have instant noodles mixed with sausages as a quick meal.
