The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

The crowd was still wondering which lady from the Qi Family was coming over, but when the carriage stopped and the curtain opened, a dignified and elegant old woman stepped out.

The girls instantly widened their eyes, ”It’s, it’s Old Madam Qi?”

Old Madam Qi coming over? It must be known that Old Madam Qi rarely goes out now, unless it’s for a court banquet or an invitation from close relations; otherwise, she is hardly seen.

But now, Old Madam Qi actually appeared here?

She has come to celebrate County Lord Lu’s opening, which seems improbable.

Yet, here she is, not only herself but accompanied by another old woman, the two coming hand in hand, while the old women behind them brought forth their congratulatory gifts.

Seeing the gift packed in an exquisite box, everyone knew it wasn’t casually thrown together; it was certainly prepared with care.

Shu Yu also didn’t expect Old Madam Qi would come, hastily stepping forward to support her on the other side, ”Old woman, why did you come over?”

”Your shop is opening, I definitely had to come,” Old Madam Qi, called the old woman, is actually just over fifty this year, about the same age as Shu Yu’s Grandmother.

As she spoke, she walked inside, introducing the other old woman beside her, ”Ah Xi, this is Shu Yu, whom I mentioned, titled as Wen’an County Lord by the Emperor. Look, isn’t the young girl just a good child?”

The old woman called Ah Xi laughed, ”If you say she’s a good child, she must be a good child. Can I doubt your judgment?”

Old Madam Qi then introduced Shu Yu, ”This is my old friend, the old woman of Duke Jiang Mansion.”

Shu Yu hurriedly bowed, ”I have seen the Duchess.”

The old woman smilingly exempted her from the courtesy.

The few girls standing nearby finally found an opportunity and quickly also bowed to the two old women.

Old Madam Qi nodded and smiled, ”Are you all here to congratulate Shu Yu on the opening?”

The girls quickly agreed, but their hearts grew more astonished. Old Madam Qi seemed to be so familiar with County Lord Lu, as if she were a junior of her own family.

No, perhaps she’s even closer than a junior of her own family.

Having accepted the congratulatory gifts, Shu Yu hurriedly invited everyone inside, ”It’s so crowded outside, let’s talk in the backyard. Just as well, Aunt Yao and others have also arrived, they are having tea in the backyard.”

Old Madam Qi laughed, ”Oh really, they came early. Let’s go, Ah Xi, we’ll talk in the backyard.”

Led by Shu Yu, the two old women headed towards the backyard, and the girls who had initially planned to leave hurriedly followed without another word of departure.

Upon reaching the backyard, the girls discovered that the Madam and daughter-in-law from the Minister of Public Works’ house were also present. So Aunt Yao mentioned by County Lord Lu referred to them?

This County Lord Lu, despite not being in the capital, how does she know such remarkable families? The host’s lady even personally came to offer congratulations?

Once seated, one of the girls couldn’t hold back any longer and asked in a low voice, ”Old Madam, are you old acquaintances with County Lord Lu?”

Old Madam Qi remained very approachable, ”Naturally, old acquaintances. Speaking of which, a few years ago when our Lord managed to return from the southwest, we were much indebted to her. The young girl has great kindness towards our Qi Family, and what’s most precious is that she’s kind-natured and skilled. By her own ability, she rose from being an ordinary citizen to Village Chief and then to County Magistrate. I, ah, particularly admire her.”
