The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

What did they hear? Mr. Shanju’s paintings?

After four long years, Mr. Shanju’s paintings are on display here, and there are two of them?

A young lady couldn’t resist and grabbed Shu Yu’s hand, eagerly asking, ”Are there really Mr. Shanju’s paintings upstairs? Can we go up and see?”

Shu Yu always thought that Meng Yunzheng’s paintings were only famous among scholars and merchants looking to profit from his work. Unexpectedly, they were also well-known among the young ladies and madams in the capital.

She blinked and nodded slowly, ”Yes, if you wish to see them, you can certainly go up.”

The young ladies couldn’t wait and immediately followed the group of scholars upstairs.

The old woman’s nanny turned back to the courtyard to report the news.

However, the scholars who went upstairs earlier were surprised to find that the top scorer, who rode a horse through the streets just two days ago, was present, standing in front of one of the paintings.

The crowd couldn’t help but stop and bow to greet him.

Meng Yunzheng smiled and said, ”Mr. Shanju’s paintings are right here, please take your time to enjoy them.”

The crowd raised their eyes in the direction he pointed, and at a glance, they saw a dazzling gold color that instantly captivated their gaze.

Meng Yunzheng, looking relaxed, sat down beside a table, poured himself a cup of tea, and sipped it slowly.

About ten scholars arrived, some eagerly went straight to the paintings, while others approached Meng Yunzheng.

After all, he was the newly appointed top scorer, a rare one who achieved top honors six times in a row. Now facing him in person, they were equally excited and nervously began to ask some questions.

Meng Yunzheng invited them to sit and took the opportunity to discuss academic topics.

When Shu Yu led a few young ladies upstairs, this scene unfolded before them.

The young ladies didn’t expect Meng Yunzheng to be on the second floor, and couldn’t help but glance at the top scorer, their cheeks turning slightly pink.

Previously, not having seen Meng Yunzheng’s appearance, they could gossip about the romantic affair between him and Shu Yu Cen Yi.

But a few days ago during the horse parade, they glimpsed Meng Yunzheng’s true appearance.

All of a sudden, they felt Cen Yi’s judgment back then was quite accurate. Just look at him, handsome and talented, such a young and promising man appearing before them, they would also be moved.

Unfortunately, the fine gentleman is already spoken for now; they can do no more than simply admire him.

They all looked at Shu Yu in unison, and the latter raised an eyebrow, ”What’s wrong?”

One of the young ladies couldn’t help but ask curiously, ”County magistrate, did you choose Master Top Scorer Meng years ago because of his looks?”

After all, Meng was just an ordinary man with no titles back then.

Shu Yu sighed, ”Of course not, am I such a shallow person?”

But she didn’t feel the need to tell them precisely what she admired in him; they weren’t that familiar.

While they were talking, the old woman and others came over, and she remarked with a smile, ”I heard the second floor is a tea house where you can admire the paintings.”

Upon the arrival of Old Madam Qi, the scholars, busy appreciating the paintings and discussing academic matters with Meng Yunzheng, were slightly surprised.

This is the wife of Grand Tutor Qi.

Meng Yunzheng was the first to greet her, and Old Madam Qi smiled, ”I haven’t had a chance to congratulate you, Master Top Scorer Meng.”

Meng Yunzheng smiled, ”Madam, please don’t tease me.”
