The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Upon seeing the people in the backyard, the staff immediately stopped and looked at Shu Yu, hesitating to speak.

The Senior Duchess saw this and immediately said, ”There might be something urgent in the front that requires your attention, you should go quickly.”

”Yes, we don’t need you to entertain us here.”

Shu Yu apologized and then quickly walked towards that staff member, asking softly as he walked, ”What happened?”

The staff lowered his voice, ”Boss, a lot of scholars have arrived outside, and they seem quite aggressive.”

”Scholars?” Shu Yu was pensive and quickly reached the front shop.

The few young women in the backyard saw Shu Yu leave, and the old women resumed a conversation on topics that did not interest them. Although they wanted to make an impression in front of Old Madam Qi and the Senior Duchess, they couldn’t get a word in, so they were considering leaving.

Fortunately, Old Madam Qi was somewhat worried about Shu Yu, so she turned and instructed the nanny behind her, ”Go to the front and see if Shu Yu runs into any trouble, lend a hand if needed.”

Madam Yao was also worried, and upon hearing this, told Ms. Kang, ”You go take a look too.”

The other young women, upon hearing this, quickly expressed their desire, ”We will go too.”

So just as Shu Yu went to the front, these people followed behind.

They walked quickly, and by the time they reached the shop entrance, they happened to see those scholars arriving at the door.

The leader was a middle-aged man. As the scholars behind approached the door, they seemed a bit surprised and stopped in their tracks, asking the leading man in astonishment, ”Is this the place you mentioned? The paintings of Mr. Shanju are here?”

Shu Yu took a good look and, good heavens, wasn’t this leading man the shopkeeper who helped her mount the paintings?

This shopkeeper huffed and puffed, ”Yes, yes, yes, I’m not deceiving you, Mr. Shanju has indeed recently produced two paintings, right on the second floor.”

”I mentioned that you must have been taken for a ride, Mr. Shanju’s paintings are so renowned. He hasn’t released any works in four years; how could two suddenly appear, and displayed in a shop, no less?”

”Exactly, we hadn’t heard a whisper of it before, surely these are forgeries.”

Hearing the chatter of these scholars, Shu Yu’s mouth twitched slightly, and she stood on the steps, smiling, ”Since you all have doubts, why not go upstairs to appreciate them?”

The scholars glanced at Shu Yu, then politely cupped their hands, ”We assume you are the owner of this shop, Wen’an County Lord. We indeed have reservations and worry that the County Lord might have been deceived. Since you’ve invited us to go upstairs to appraise them, shall we go have a look?”

Shu Yu, ”...” I really appreciate your concern.

She lightly coughed, ”Everyone is welcome to go up and look at the paintings, but today is Lu’s Shop’s opening day, and I hope you can maintain order and not disturb the customers inside the shop.”

”Of course.”

With the host’s permission, the scholars, a bit excited and nervous, entered the shop.

Other customers in the shop turned their heads towards them, and seeing them head upstairs, quickly grabbed a staff member and asked, ”Does the second floor sell melon seeds too? What are they going upstairs for?”

The staff replied with a smile, ”The second floor is a tea house, these scholars are going up to see the paintings, enjoy the tea, and exchange knowledge.”

The customers were somewhat surprised, the second floor is actually a tea house? Such a peculiar setup.

They weren’t interested in the tea room, but Ms. Kang, the Qi Family’s nanny, and the few young women who had been standing behind Shu Yu, were now utterly shocked.
