The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu couldn’t give her an answer to this question.

She could only say, seeing Aunt Hong’s anxious gaze, ”I will find someone to search for her. At least we know she appeared in Huajiang Prefecture, so there’s a direction to search.”

Aunt Hong opened her mouth, hesitated, and then nodded after a while, ”I hope she can be found.”

She worried that something might really have happened to Ms. Wei, based on her understanding of Ms. Wei. If she had really escaped from that rich merchant’s house, she would surely try to find a way back to the capital.

After all, she has a child here who she carried for ten months and never felt at ease about.

But now it’s been nearly a year, and she hasn’t appeared. Even the Wei family has already returned, and even if she crawled, she should have arrived by now.

Shu Yu and Aunt Hong returned to the side of the carriage, lifted the curtains, and boarded the carriage to see Little Song Le holding a bead, rubbing it incessantly.

This bead was not the one he used to carry around. His original wooden bead had long been put away by Shu Yu. Just because the little guy was not used to being without a bead, Shu Yu found him another one.

Whenever he felt anxious and uneasy, Little Song Le would rub the bead.

Clearly, his emotions were not stable now.

Shu Yu sat next to Little Song Le, bid farewell to Aunt Hong, and then had Ying Xi set off.

It wasn’t until the carriage drove steadily forward that Little Song Le looked up, stared at Shu Yu, and seemed unsure where to begin asking his questions.

Shu Yu knew he must have figured it out; the little guy wasn’t naive.

She sighed slightly, ”Do you want to ask who that man was just now?”

Little Song Le hesitated and slowly nodded.

”His name is Wei Tang; he’s your biological uncle.”

Little Song Le suddenly raised his head and looked at her with eager eyes, ”Then my mother...” He knew, he knew that his mother was taken away by his grandmother, grandfather, and uncle.

Now that his uncle appeared, does that mean his mother has returned too?

Shu Yu didn’t want to hide it from him. Wei Tang appeared once, and there’s no guarantee he wouldn’t appear a second time. If Little Song Le didn’t know the truth and was deceived by him or Old Man Wei, it would be regrettable.

So she calmly told him everything Wei Tang had said.

Little Song Le’s eyes turned red, and he clutched the bead tightly in his small hand, tears dripping down after a while.

Shu Yu hugged him, ”Don’t worry, we’ve been to Huajiang Prefecture before, and your cousin used to live in Tianning County beneath Huajiang Prefecture for ten years. Uncle Meng knows many friends there and is very familiar with it. When the time comes, we can ask them to pay attention, and we’ll surely find your mother.”

Ying Xi, sitting on the shaft, also hurriedly said, ”Yes, yes, I’m familiar with Huajiang Prefecture. My brother and I even know a jailer from the prefecture. We’ll ask him to search then, no problem.”

”Earlier, we didn’t know your mother’s whereabouts. Now that we know she appeared in Huajiang Prefecture, it’s much easier with the clues we have.”

Under their reassurance, Little Song Le gradually calmed down, nodded and ’hmm’ed, ”We’ll definitely find her.”

He lifted his head, tried hard to smile, ”Besides, my mother found a way to escape from that household, indicating she’s very smart. She won’t be in trouble; she’s probably waiting for us somewhere now.”

Shu Yu smiled, ”Exactly.”

Little Song Le lowered his head again and silently prayed with the bead in his hands.
