The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

This was the agreed statement between Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng. Shu Yu felt that it was better for Mr. Shanju to maintain an air of mystery.

So they claimed that the two paintings were inspired by Mr. Shanju when he was passing through Dongan Province and saw the vast sunflower field. After staying in the area for a long time and seeing that the sunflowers were about to wither, he couldn’t resist the urge to capture the beautiful scenery. Climbing a nearby mountain, he was amazed to find the view even more stunning from above. So, he painted these two beautiful landscapes.

Later, upon learning that this sunflower field belonged to Wen’an County Lord, he sent someone to deliver the paintings.

The shopkeeper listened with deep regret, his eyes wide open in shock as he asked, ”So, these two paintings were given to you for free by Mr. Shanju?”

Shu Yu nodded with a smile, ”Yes.”

The shopkeeper clutched his chest, ”Do you know how much these two paintings are worth?”

”Mr. Shanju said that our sunflower field brought him joy, clearing many of his blocked thoughts. For him, inspiration is priceless, and these two paintings were given to me as a thank you.”

Well, yes, our sunflower field is indeed something special. So, anyone with the time should come and have a look.

It can really open your mind.

The shopkeeper was silent for a while before he finally looked up, showing an envious expression towards Shu Yu, ”That’s amazing. It’s the first time I’ve heard that Mr. Shanju would give away his paintings for free, and two of them at that!”

He emphasized the word ’two,’ almost making Ying Xi, standing behind Shu Yu, burst into laughter. If the shopkeeper knew that Mr. Shanju would be her future husband’s, he wouldn’t be surprised if he gave away two hundred paintings, let alone two. Who knows if the shock would make him faint?

The shopkeeper glanced again at Lu’s shop, hesitantly asking, ”County magistrate, are you planning to hang these two paintings in this shop?”

He looked as if it would be a waste of beauty to hang the paintings merely inside without daily incense offerings and appreciation.

Shu Yu twitched at the corner of her mouth, ”The paintings will naturally be kept in the shop, as the things we sell are related to these two paintings. However, the paintings won’t be on the first floor; they’ll be on the second. The second floor will be a tea house in the future. Shopkeeper, if you have free time later, you can come to our second floor for tea, enjoy the paintings, and discuss Mr. Shanju’s artworks with other like-minded individuals.”

The shopkeeper was stunned, ”Are you saying...”

After all, he was a businessman, so his eyes lit up as he clapped his hands, ”Great, great!”

You see, Mr. Shanju’s paintings are not only expensive but owners would treasure them, only showing them to close friends and family for appreciation and critique.

Opportunities like this are very rare. Given his status as a shopkeeper, where would he normally have the chance to see them?

Now they’re displayed here, viewable for free at any time, and there are two of them. Such an extraordinary opportunity is truly rare.

Realizing this, the shopkeeper looked at Shu Yu as if she were a great benefactor.

Immediately, he clasped his hands towards Shu Yu, ”When the shop opens, I will certainly come to congratulate. By the way, these two paintings have already been framed, and I won’t charge for the framing. I just ask one thing of you, county magistrate.”

Although Shu Yu wasn’t lacking in money, she asked, ”What is it?”
