The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Shu Yu, with her keen eyes, noticed that these few young ladies seemed to be the ones who saw her confronting Wu Ling on the second floor of this shop that day.

She couldn’t help but twitch her mouth; these ladies really came to support her? Oh no, they were completely here to satisfy their curiosity.

These young ladies were not like Wu Ling’s group, who stayed in the carriage without coming out; they were genuinely curious about what Shu Yu was selling, so they simply came over to greet her.

”Wen’an County Lord, congratulations on the grand opening.”

They did bring congratulatory gifts, and Shu Yu accepted them without refusal. After receiving the gift boxes, she invited them to the backyard.

Unexpectedly, the young ladies all waved their hands, ”It’s fine, we’re just looking around. County Lord Lu, what are you selling?”

They initially thought it would be similar to makeup products or a ready-to-wear clothes shop, but they didn’t expect it would be... melon seeds? And oil, and even those pieces that the staff called flatbreads?

The items weren’t expensive and catered to the ordinary people’s business.

The young ladies were quite disappointed as these were not things they were interested in. It was a pity, given such a prime location.

Having satisfied their curiosity, they glanced at each other, thinking of leaving promptly.

However, at that moment, they saw a familiar carriage heading their way.

”That carriage... seems to be the Zhou family’s carriage.”

Their initial steps to leave were immediately retracted.

Shu Yu resisted the urge to roll her eyes, wondering if they were always this gossipy.

Even the Zhou family’s carriage couldn’t enter, stopping a few steps away, and soon after, the nanny accompanying Cen Yi came down with a gift box.

Smiling warmly, she congratulated Shu Yu, ”County Lord Lu, congratulations on your grand opening. This is a special gift prepared by our young lady, wishing you prosperous business and abundant wealth.”

The young ladies were greatly disappointed, keeping their gaze on that carriage. After a while, confirming that there was indeed no one inside, they secretly sighed.

They had hoped Cen Yi would come too, wanting to personally witness what kind of scene would unfold between these two former rivals — whether swords drawn or sarcastic remarks.

Though they didn’t see Cen Yi, the young ladies still listened closely to Shu Yu and the nanny’s conversation.

Unfortunately, the two simply exchanged polite pleasantries without any substantive content.

The nanny was just there to deliver a gift, and she would leave once done.

The few young ladies nearby, seeing this, could only regretfully prepare to take their leave.

Shu Yu didn’t intend to keep them either, since she hadn’t expected them to buy anything. Her only hope was for the shop’s reputation to spread.

However, having received the congratulatory gifts from the young ladies, it’s only polite to prepare return gifts.

Shu Yu called Ying Xi to arrange the items, handing them to each young lady.

The young ladies, seeing Shu Yu’s courteous demeanor, felt somewhat embarrassed for having impure motives and giving casual gifts. They thought maybe they should buy some items as a gesture?

Just as they were contemplating this, someone keenly noticed the commotion outside and whispered, ”Is Wu Ling’s group leaving?”

Everyone followed her gaze outside and did see Wu Ling’s carriage moving aside.

Yet, the next moment, they were surprised to find that Wu Ling didn’t seem to intend to leave but was... making way for a newly arrived carriage.

And that carriage seemed to be— the Qi family’s carriage.

The Qi family, the Grand Tutor Qi’s family, also had ladies coming over?
