The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Although Jin Lin, the third place scorer, isn’t as handsome as Meng Yunzheng, he was nevertheless awarded this title, and his appearance is still commendable.

Unlike Meng Yunzheng who avoided the thrown items, he actually took them all.

The result of this was that his body was almost covered with scratches. It wasn’t just flowers and handkerchiefs being thrown, but various little trinkets that people could grab.

One girl got too excited and threw the Cuju Ball her nephew was playing with directly at Jin Lin’s head, nearly knocking him off his horse.

He couldn’t say anything but smiled and nodded.

He learned his lesson afterward and at least paid more attention to what people were throwing.

But most people’s attention was still on the talented and wise top scorer Meng Yunzheng, who at this moment, had achieved six consecutive victories in the exams.

However, Meng Yunzheng had nothing in his arms until the procession was about to reach Lu’s gate, when suddenly he looked up and his gaze met Shu Yu’s.

The crowd was visibly surprised when Master Top Scorer showed an unusual expression and followed his gaze, seeing that in the second-floor private room at Lu’s, there were a few women peeking out and some children excitedly shouting, their cheeks flushed with excitement.

Xiao Ruojun hurriedly urged, ”Quick, quick, Yu, throw the handkerchief.”

Shu Yu hadn’t planned on throwing the handkerchief; it was too light and difficult to aim unless wrapped with something.

Thus, she prepared a pouch, but before she could take it out, Xiao Ruojun shook her arms, causing the handkerchief meant for wiping the sweat of the excitable children to fall down.

Shu Yu, ”...”

The handkerchief descended, with Meng Yunzheng being the first to notice, but it fell straight to the ground, and even with a breeze, it wouldn’t blow into his arms.

Just when Shu Yu intended to switch pouches, Meng Yunzheng suddenly supported himself on the saddle, jumped up, tapped lightly on the horse’s back with his right foot, and gracefully lunged forward to grab the handkerchief before it hit the ground.

Those around him stared in amazement at his swift actions, and when he sat back on the horse holding the handkerchief, a vigorous cheer erupted from the crowd.

”Bravo!”

”The top scorer is skilled both in literature and martial arts.”

”Ah ah ah, I adore him!”

”Who is that girl who threw the handkerchief? The top scorer rejected everyone’s but hers. Could it be that the top scorer is near a fruitful marriage?”

”She’s quite pretty, a perfect match for the talented top scorer.”

Of course, many present recognized Shu Yu and felt a bit envious watching their interaction.

The procession continued moving forward, with Meng Yunzheng turning back and waving the handkerchief towards the second floor.

The other new Advanced Scholars in the procession also lifted their heads to examine her.

Shu Yu looked at the pouch she didn’t manage to throw, and then at the handkerchief he held, and immediately made a megaphone with her hands, shouting loudly, ”Meng Yunzheng, you are the best!”

The Little Song Le beside her quickly joined, ”You are the best!”

The neighboring Zhao Xi group echoed, ”The best, the best!”

Madam Yao and others laughed uncontrollably, and once the procession gradually disappeared, and everyone could no longer see them, Shu Yu pulled back from the window ledge and turned around to see everyone in the private room teasingly looking at her.

Shu Yu touched her nose, ”Well, they still need to attend the Qionglin Banquet. Should we find a place to eat?”
