The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Ms. Kang, holding her son who was playing with Little Huohuo and Little Song Le, nodded along, ”The streets for the parade with horse-riding have been fully booked months ago, there’s absolutely no space free.”

”This place is good; later when the top scorer passes by here, Yu, you throw the flowers down.”

Although Shu Yu trusts Meng Yunzheng greatly, at this moment she decided to be humble, ”We don’t know what rank it is yet.”

Madam Yao exchanged a glance with her daughter-in-law, ”Six consecutive firsts, such a wonderful meaning; the emperor is unlikely to miss out.”

”Hey hey hey, do you hear the sound of the drums and music? They’re coming.” Xiao Ruojun interrupted their conversation eagerly, almost leaning half of her body towards the window.

Shu Yu was startled, quickly pulling her back, ”You should be careful of your situation; if your neck stretches further, you’re going to fall.”

Xiao Ruojun sighed, ”The last time I saw horse-riding parade was when my own husband became a top scorer; it was just as festive then.”

Originally, Xiang Weinan didn’t want Xiao Ruojun to come out; she was pregnant, and with the hustle and bustle, what if something happened?

Later, knowing that Shu Yu’s shop had a good view and wasn’t yet open, with only a few familiar people around and no outsiders to run into, they sent her over early.

Since Xiao Ruojun returned from outside the city last time, she hadn’t been outside; it was rare for her to go outside for relaxation, especially in such a lively scene, she couldn’t contain her excitement.

The sound of drums and music grew closer, Shu Yu already heard many girls’ screaming next to her ear.

She cleared her ear and peeked out.

The procession was still quite far, yet the soldiers leading the way had separated the entire street.

”Here it comes, here it comes, can you see clearly who is the first on horseback?” Madam Yao squinted her eyes, not seeing clearly.

Shu Yu, with good eyesight, gradually reflected the outline of that person in her pupils, the smile at her lips growing larger.

”It’s him! It’s Yun, riding at the forefront; he scored the top position.”

”Really?” Madam Yao and the others were thrilled, despite not yet seeing clearly, they started to wave towards the direction of the approaching procession.

”Young Master Meng...”

”Yunzheng...”

”Yun...”

Excited calls echoed from both genders in the two elegant rooms on the second floor of Lu’s. Everyone was very excited.

And yet the onlooking public downstairs were even more enthusiastic, their screams and calls completely overshadowing Shu Yu and the others.

When the procession drew near, the sounds grew even louder.

Shu Yu watched as many girls and women by the roadside threw flowers and handkerchiefs towards Meng Yunzheng, she even heard some girls below loudly praise, ”Master Top Scorer is so handsome.”

”Master Top Scorer is so young; has he married yet?”

”Is this the new top scorer? I heard he scored six consecutive firsts, he’s a genius.”

”Ahhhhh, Master Top Scorer, look this way.”

The Master Top Scorer didn’t look anywhere, stared straight ahead, concentrating on avoiding the handkerchiefs and flowers thrown his way.

The girls throwing flowers and handkerchiefs were frustrated, ”Why is he avoiding them all?”

”Has he married already, and avoiding suspicion?”

”There’s no need to avoid suspicion at times like these; I don’t believe I won’t hit the mark.”

Yet she really didn’t hit, whereas the Second Place and Third Place behind him had quite a few on them. The Second Place, being older, everyone knew he must have a family already.
