The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

The shopkeeper quickly said, ”If the county magistrate receives Mr. Shanju’s paintings again next time, could you still send them to our shop for mounting?”

Shu Yu, ”...” You just said Mr. Shanju’s paintings are rare, now you’re talking like they’re common cabbages?

”If there’s a next time and I’m in the capital, I will definitely send them to your shop.”

Guessing there won’t be a next time.

The shopkeeper was very happy, ”That’s good.”

He looked at the paintings once more. Although he wanted to keep looking, he knew he shouldn’t waste other people’s time. Fortunately, Lu’s Shop will open in two days, and he will be the first to visit then.

The shopkeeper bowed and bid farewell, reluctantly leaving Lu’s Shop.

Shu Yu couldn’t help but shake her head, laughing as she called Daniu and Yuan Gui to take the two paintings upstairs to hang them.

The second floor is now exquisitely decorated, both paintings are hung in the flower hall, the space here is large, allowing guests to view the paintings without crowding.

After hanging them, Daniu and Yuan Gui crossed their arms and commented, ”They look quite good.”

But neither of them could fully comprehend the shopkeeper’s passionate demeanor from earlier.

Could it be that their lack of education prevents them from grasping the essence of the paintings?

The two exchanged a glance, ”Let’s take a closer look.”

After all, it’s Master Top Scorer’s paintings; looking more might improve their literary knowledge.

However, the more they looked, the more dizzy they felt, ”Yu, we’re going downstairs to rest. Let us know if you need anything.”

”Alright.” Shu Yu was amused by the two.

But after the two went downstairs, she stood before the two paintings, quietly appreciating them.

She had seen these paintings before, and quite thoroughly. But to appreciate them in such a serene and atmospheric setting for the first time was different.

She didn’t truly understand art; she just felt the paintings brought her joy, with their bright tones suggesting the artist was in a very happy mood.

Yun must have been really happy while painting these, she wondered what was on his mind at the time.

Shu Yu watched, a smile unconsciously forming on her lips.

As Meng Yunzheng came upstairs, he saw her standing with her head tilted, facing his paintings silently.

He stood at the stairway, watching her and appreciating the artwork in quiet.

Until Ying Xi turned his head and saw him, paused for a moment, and was about to speak, Meng Yunzheng suddenly raised his hand and gestured.

Ying Xi understood, glanced at his young mistress still fully absorbed, and then discreetly retreated down the stairs.

Only then did Meng Yunzheng step forward, standing behind Shu Yu.

When Shu Yu finally noticed, she leaned back against a warm body, enveloped in his embrace.

Shu Yu was startled, turned her head to look at him, ”Why are you back?”

Meng Yunzheng hugged her, smiling, ”I came back to respond to you.”

”Respond to me? Respond to what?”

Meng Yunzheng took out a handkerchief from his sleeve, ”This.”

Seeing it, Shu Yu couldn’t help but laugh, ”That handkerchief was unintentionally left behind.”

”Was it? I thought you, like other girls, threw the handkerchief to express your feelings to me.” Meng Yunzheng disregarded it, stuffing the handkerchief back into his sleeve, ”But it doesn’t matter, I still heard your words.”

”From so far away, good for you to have heard.”

”But I’m not satisfied; I think since I became the top scorer, I deserve a tangible reward.”
