The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1587: Chapter 1587: Merchants Follow Suit

Shu Yu noticed the young woman’s expression and smiled slightly. So, the effect of the prizes is indeed astonishing, isn’t it?

The people behind were still drawing lottery tickets. After the young woman bought some melon seeds, she sent her maid to buy several pounds of sunflower oil.

The maid was puzzled, but still took two wooden tokens.

The young woman drew two more times, but unfortunately, both times she only got consolation prizes.

Then, she got two bags of fragrant popcorn. This thing… she had neither seen nor eaten before, it was so delicious.

After the mother and daughter left the shop, they shared it in the carriage.

Until the maid came over and said someone won the fourth prize and chose a rag doll, wanting to sell it to her.

Only after trading with the other person did she reluctantly leave Lu’s Shop, wishing she could draw another lottery. Seeing her daughter happily hugging the rag doll, she let out a long sigh of relief.

Customers came and went, but there was always a long queue in front of Lu’s Shop.

As it approached noon, it gradually got hotter outside. Shu Yu had Ying Xi and Xia Yan fetch water to give a bowl to those waiting outside.

Now in September, the heat had actually subsided a lot, but at midday, with the sun glaring above, it was still a bit unbearable.

Fortunately, many went to the nearby restaurants and eateries, bringing a lot of business to the shops around Fengtao Lane, making the shopkeepers very happy.

Seeing fewer people at noon, Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng went to eat at the restaurant across the street.

The two barely chatted, considering the crowd around them, they had a lot to do upon returning.

After eating, they returned to the shop and asked others to take turns going across the street to eat. She had already paid for the meals, and they could eat whatever they wanted. Only by eating well could they have the energy to work.

But everyone ate simply, unwilling to waste time. Most ordered noodles or steamed buns, things that were quick to cook or ready-made.

Shu Yu saw this and felt a bit helpless, but everyone remained energetic. Seeing the business doing so well was like drinking nectar and dew, they didn’t feel tired at all.

In the afternoon, customers continued to come in droves, and the prizes were gradually distributed.

The first prize was hard to draw. It wasn’t until late that the second first prize was won.

This person was different from the young woman in the morning. Her family’s circumstances appeared modest, so she chose the golden hairpin and left the shop happily.

Another cedar wood box from the second prize went out, and an ink stone was chosen.

Six third prizes were drawn.

At this point, there was only one first prize, two second prizes, and four third prizes left.

The prizes were getting fewer, and the later customers were getting more anxious.

As it approached evening, the frenzy didn’t diminish, which made the shopkeepers of the surrounding shops envious.

No one expected Lu’s Shop’s lottery event to be such a huge success.

So much so that for a long time afterwards, various businesses began to imitate by holding lottery events.

Unfortunately, a gimmick is just a gimmick. What truly matters is the strength of the products themselves.

Lu’s Shop not only had delicious melon seeds and valuable sunflower oil, but also rare instant noodles, and even the prizes were selected based on the customer group. These items truly touched the customers’ hearts.

Though the merchants behind imitated, most failed to grasp the essence, especially as their spending threshold was too high, targeting wealthy customers without any novel prizes, failing to pique interest.
