The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1552: Chapter 1552: Two Main Objectives

”Please speak, teacher.”

The middle-aged scholar extended two fingers, ”Their trip has two main purposes, one is the Dongqing Temple master, and the other one...”

He raised his eyes and looked at Shu Yu, ”Is for Young Master Meng.”

Shu Yu pursed her lips, her expression tense, ”Could you please elaborate, teacher.”

The middle-aged scholar no longer kept them guessing, ”The main goal is still to find the Dongqing Temple master. Actually, the Xiao Family has never given up searching for the temple master, not just in Dongan Province. Any news of the Dongqing Temple master’s appearance prompts the Xiao Family to send people to search.”

”Why?”

Shu Yu furrowed her brow and immediately understood after asking.

Who is the Dongqing Temple master? Ordinary citizens might not have a strong concept, but as a member of the Imperial Family, they know this very well.

The late emperor valued her, and the current emperor, before ascending to the throne, specifically sent Meng Yunzheng to search for her.

Now, the Xiao Family hasn’t given up hope. They even collaborate with the Second Prince, still coveting that position, so it’s not surprising they continue to search for the Dongqing Temple master.

Indeed, the middle-aged scholar said, ”The matter of the emperor secretly searching for the temple master before ascending to the throne has already been discovered by the Xiao Family. The Xiao Family suspects that the transfer of the throne from the late emperor to the current emperor might be related to this, so...”

Shu Yu thought the Xiao Family and the Third Prince were desperately clutching at straws. Although the master is skilled in the Face Reading Technique and calculation, relying solely on her for matters concerning the nation seems rather incompetent?

Shu Yu shook her head, ”It seems Hao Dingshan will have to linger in Dongan Province for a long time before he finds the master.”

The middle-aged scholar nodded, ”There’s also Young Master Meng. They’re watching Young Master Meng, seemingly wanting to know what he’s been up to and if there’s any movement. But this is likely just incidental; they haven’t invested much energy in Young Master Meng.”

Shu Yu understood that with Meng Yunzheng’s current status, perhaps only the Second Prince cares a bit about him.

The Xiao Family isn’t concerned about someone with only a scholar’s title, lurking in a small county town, who can’t greatly influence the situation.

Otherwise, Hao Dingshan wouldn’t have only contacted someone like Chen Ji to monitor him in such a manner.

”They didn’t bring many people this time, did they?”

Middle-aged scholar, ”Not many, only three in total.”

Shu Yu understood, no wonder Hao Dingshan went alone to Jiangyuan County.

”By the way, the person who was pushed to the front to cause trouble today at Dongqing Temple is actually from Dongan Province. He is helping the Xiao Family, obvious by being one of theirs. This works well, removing a thorn in our side.”

Shu Yu smiled, ”It seems teacher has gained quite a lot this trip. Has Lord Fei been informed of this?”

The middle-aged scholar nodded, ”Others have already been sent to report to Lord Fei. Village Chief Lu Xiang, knowing Hao Dingshan’s intentions now, do you have any thoughts?”

”Not yet, since half of his purpose is aimed at Yun, I will return to the county town in the afternoon to discuss with Yun.”

”Alright, if Village Chief Lu Xiang and Scholar Meng need any help, just let me know.” He stood up, ”I still have business at the government office, so I shall take my leave now.”

Shu Yu stood up to see him off, ”Thank you, teacher. Take care.”

The middle-aged scholar nodded and quietly left through the back door of Lu’s shop.

Shu Yu exhaled lightly, beckoning Ying Xi, ”Let’s go back.”

She informed Wei Ronghua of the situation, and after entrusting everything to him, she returned to the county town with Shu Yu.
