The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1572: Chapter 1572: The First to Win Fifth Prize

Wei Ronghua laughed, ”Alright, please wait a moment, sir.”

He called out to Ren Yiping loudly, ”Take this customer inside to weigh the melon seeds. This is the first customer of our shop’s opening, give him a discount at checkout, and add an extra handful.”

The first customer was a middle-aged man. Upon hearing this, his eyes lit up.

Others, who were originally waiting for someone else to try first, immediately regretted it and quickly asked, ”Do we also get a discount? Can we get an extra handful too?”

Wei Ronghua laughed and said, ”Seeing how everyone supports us, I can’t outright refuse. Let me ask the boss; please wait a moment.”

”Go quickly.”

Wei Ronghua walked over to Shu Yu, said a few words, and when he returned, he announced, ”The boss said that the first ten customers will get a 10% discount.”

As for the extra handful, that’s a privilege only for the first customer.

Someone wanted to say more, but others quickly said, ”I’ll take two hundred wen.”

”I’ll also take two hundred wen.”

”I’ll take a hundred wen... Ah, no, a hundred wen isn’t eligible for the lottery; I’ll take two hundred wen too.”

With the rush, others didn’t waste time saying anything more—they all just hoped to be among the first ten.

Most people bought two hundred wen, but after tasting and liking the flavor, there were those who bought three hundred or four hundred wen as well.

There were many customers, but fortunately, the shop staff was well-prepared, with each attending to one or two customers, quickly weighing the seeds and calculating the bills.

Daniu was behind the counter, and his arithmetic had become quick.

Shu Yu had taught him mental calculation, so sometimes he could come up with results quickly without using an abacus. Therefore, even though he was the only one at the moment, he wasn’t too busy with receiving and giving change.

Especially since most people bought even amounts, making it easy to record.

After calculations, Daniu would give each customer a wooden token, which they could use to participate in the lottery on the other side.

The first customer had already paid, holding the seeds he’d bought, and ran to the lottery stand, eagerly and excitedly asking, ”Can I draw now?”

Sitting beside the lottery stand was Shu Yu, along with many customers especially enthusiastic about the draw.

As soon as the first customer arrived, Shu Yu took the wooden token from his hand and smiled, ”You can definitely draw now. Here is the lottery box; just reach in and pull out any slip, it’ll say which prize you won.”

The man rubbed his hands together, breathed into his palms, seemingly to bring himself good luck.

Then he closed his eyes and prayed for a moment—all the onlookers were growing impatient before he finally reached into the box to draw.

He stirred inside for a long time before he finally pulled out a slip.

Even though it was nothing earth-shattering, the man was incredibly nervous, and several customers who had already bought their seeds came over.

”Quick, open it and see.” They were no longer in a hurry to draw; they wanted to first check out this man’s luck.

The first customer took a deep breath, trembling slightly, and closed his eyes as he quickly unfolded the slip.

Someone leaned over and looked, ”Fifth prize?”

Upon hearing this, the man quickly opened his eyes and then laughed out loud, ”I won, I won! I’m so lucky today—got a discount and won a fifth prize in the lottery.”

Others were also astonished and started discussing, ”Did he really win? The first one really won a fifth prize—that was easy!”
