The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1580: Chapter 1580: Meng Yunzheng Comes to Help

Mrs. Tan made up her mind. Tonight, she would cook the instant noodles and let her husband and son taste them, experiencing the excitement in her heart.

With this thought, she urged Shu Yu to get her the prize, while chatting with some wealthy ladies she knew.

Shu Yu found it amusing. Seeing Ying Xi hadn’t returned yet, she asked Wei Fangfang to watch the prize-drawing table and went to get the instant noodles herself.

Who would have thought, when she turned around, she would see Meng Yunzheng standing behind her.

Surprised, she looked at him, “Why are you here?”

“Today is your grand opening, of course, I have to be here. So, is there anything you need help with?”

Shu Yu had many things she wanted to ask him, but the situation didn’t allow it.

She first went to get the instant noodles, and seeing Ying Xi had returned, she led Meng Yunzheng toward the counter, “You’ve come just in time, help Brother Daniu with accounting and collecting money, it’s your strength.”

“Sure.”

Daniu was already a bit overwhelmed. Even though he was quite adept at mental calculations, he couldn’t handle the increasing number of customers.

Especially those customers at the back who didn’t just buy melon seeds and sunflower oil for the prize drawing; they had genuine needs and weren’t tight on money. Therefore, these customers wouldn’t be satisfied with a simple two hundred wen.

They picked out items themselves, three flavors of melon seeds, two pounds of sunflower oil, and over a dozen packs of instant noodles. Adding up these items was much more challenging than before.

Daniu only worried about making mistakes due to his speed, as making such errors on the first day would be disastrous, as he wasn’t a professional accountant, after all.

Just as his fingers started to ache from working the abacus, Meng Yunzheng arrived.

Daniu let out a long breath, “Yun, come on, stand over here.”

Meng Yunzheng chatted with Shu Yu briefly and swiftly got into the action.

Compared to Daniu’s somewhat nervous demeanor, once Meng Yunzheng took over, he appeared much more at ease.

He didn’t need the abacus at all; as soon as a customer quoted a number, he could calculate the amount instantly. His speed was so surprising that the customers didn’t believe it, and only after using an abacus themselves and confirming the result, did they marvel, “With such a variety of items, you calculated it instantly. Amazing.”

Meng Yunzheng chuckled, “I practiced since childhood.”

The person wanted to say more, but the customers behind were already urging him to move.

Meng Yunzheng was not only fast at accounting but also had the bandwidth to chat with customers and introduce products while calculating.

Daniu stood beside him passing wooden tokens, utterly amazed. No wonder he was known as the local scholar, having aced his exams.

Shu Yu only watched for a moment before returning to the prize-drawing table, as there were too many people around. Without occasional supervision, problems could easily arise.

Half the day passed, and the first and third prizes still hadn’t been drawn.

However, this didn’t affect the enthusiasm of the customers at all. In fact, their curiosity about these prizes made them even more eager, some even taking the initiative to shout at the entrance.

Mrs. Tan had her fun and was satisfied. Seeing how busy Lu’s was, she felt it wasn’t appropriate to stay any longer to be entertained.

So when she saw Shu Yu return, she bid her goodbye.

Just before leaving, she couldn’t help but pull Shu Yu aside and softly ask, “So what are the first and third prizes?”

Shu Yu didn’t hide it from her, as they would find out soon anyway.

Mrs. Tan clicked her tongue in amazement after hearing, “You’re really generous; there are three first prizes.”

“If you don’t sacrifice the child, you can’t catch the wolf.”

Mrs. Tan looked at the thriving scene inside the store and couldn’t help but nod in agreement.
