The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1553: Chapter 1553: Roll-Up Banner

Shu Yu went straight to Liufang Alley without even going home, and first went to see Meng Yunzheng.

Meng Yunzheng was at home helping Shu Yu draw a promotional poster, a large stand-up poster to be placed at the store entrance, designed by Meng Yunzheng based on Shu Yu’s descriptions.

It was almost done, and he was just finishing the final touches.

Unexpectedly, Shu Yu came over at this time, and without lifting his head, Meng Yunzheng said, “Wait a moment, let me write a few words, and then it’ll be finished.”

The poster was filled with numerous images and slogans, clearly conveying what the shop was about at a glance.

Hearing this, Shu Yu shut her mouth just as she was about to speak, seeing the eye-catching artwork and the somewhat cluttered study, it was obvious Meng Yunzheng had put in a lot of effort.

Shu Yu touched her face, feeling a bit guilty. Meng Yunzheng was Mr. Shanju, whose paintings were worth thousands of taels, and now he was creating a free promotional poster for her—it was truly overqualified for him.

But there was no choice; in this day and age, without computers and printers, everything had to be done manually.

“All done.” Shu Yu was still trying to voice her gratitude, but Meng Yunzheng had already finished.

He called Shu Yu over, “Come take a look, is it okay?”

When Shu Yu leaned over to look, what’s there to be dissatisfied with? It was even more vivid and aesthetically pleasing than she had described, more in tune with the style of this era.

Her eyes couldn’t help but brighten, “Beautiful, more grandiose than my depiction, the layout is appropriate, and there’s even two little figures in the center?”

The little figures were in Q-style, the only part of the stand-up poster that didn’t fit the era’s style, but they were extraordinarily eye-catching and especially cute, enough to melt anyone’s heart.

Meng Yunzheng laughed, “Didn’t you mention it? Could we add two figures with big heads and small bodies, making them fun and hard to look away from? These two little figures are looking at the golden sunflower oil on the ground, which should match what you described.”

“Perfectly matched.” Shu Yu nodded repeatedly, handling it as if she couldn’t bear to part with it.

What’s even more brilliant was that the little figures were dressed in clothes that looked like melon seeds, sitting atop a sunflower, as if the sunflower had given birth to two little melon-seed figures.

Then one of them was holding a jug filled with sunflower oil, some of which had accidentally spilled out, leaving the little figure looking pitifully at the golden puddle of sunflower oil on the ground, eliciting great sympathy. The other had a face full of distress and then pointed with a chubby finger toward the store, as if intending to go in and buy another jug.

Shu Yu couldn’t help but laugh as she watched; they were too adorable.

Any customers entering the store, upon seeing such cute little dolls, who could resist?

Seeing that she was reluctant to put them down, Meng Yunzheng shook his head, went outside to wash his hands, and then drew the painting from her hands.

“Hey…” Shu Yu hadn’t even finished looking.

Meng Yunzheng amusedly leaned against the desk behind him, “Alright, let’s get to the main point. Didn’t you say these past few days you would be in the prefecture preparing for the opening? Why did you suddenly come back, and hurriedly run to my house? What’s the matter?”

Shu Yu slapped her forehead, “Almost forgot.”

Ah, Mr. Shanju’s paintings truly are captivating.

How could this man be so capable?

Shu Yu finally tore her eyes away from the painting and sat upright, recounting the situation with Hao Dingshan to him.

Meng Yunzheng listened while nodding, “So, the person we’re looking for who was inquiring about my whereabouts, it’s him?”
