The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1554: Chapter 1554: Second Sister Zhou Is Getting Engaged

Shu Yu replied with a sound of agreement, ”Lord Fei has already sent people to secretly watch those few. What do you think we should do now?”

If we let them stay in Dongan Province, they are like a ticking time bomb.

But if we kill them or capture them, the Xiao Family in the capital will know something happened to Hao Dingshan. Then Dongan Province, Dongqing Temple, or even Meng Yunzheng could become their suspected targets.

”We definitely have to let them go back,” Meng Yunzheng contemplated, ”but we can’t let them come here for nothing.”

”What do you mean?”

”How about we turn their plan against them?”

Shu Yu smiled, ”And how do we turn their plan against them?”

”The Dongqing Temple master went to the capital, so we absolutely can’t let them find out about that. So we’ll keep the situation at Dongqing Temple as is. Hao Dingshan came here for another reason too, didn’t he? And that’s me. Let’s stir up something to make him feel like he’s discovered some sensational news, so he hurries back to the capital. Maybe... it will even cause some trouble for the Xiao Family.”

Shu Yu frowned, ”But wouldn’t that make them focus all their attention on you?”

”That’s why this needs to be carefully planned. Don’t worry, leave Hao Dingshan to me. Isn’t your shop opening in a few days? You’ll be busy with that, focus on it, and I’ll handle the rest.”

”But...”

”If I need anything, I’ll ask for your help?”

Shu Yu thought about it and then sighed, nodding, ”Alright, just be careful.”

”Okay.” After finishing their serious discussion, the ink on the promotional picture was almost dry. Meng Yunzheng rolled it up and handed it to her, ”We’ll have to trouble Lu Erbai with the base and the pole beneath it.”

Shu Yu took it, ”Alright, I’m leaving now.”

It was getting late, so she didn’t linger and hurried back to Fenghuai Street with Ying Xi.

As soon as they entered the house, they saw the old lady and Zhou Qiao talking and laughing, clearly in a good mood.

Shu Yu placed the painting on the table and curiously asked, ”What good thing happened?”

The old lady glanced at Zhou Qiao, ”You tell her.”

”My sister and Dazhuang are planning to get engaged,” Zhou Qiao couldn’t help but smile, clearly pleased with the match.

Shu Yu was surprised, Dazhuang??

”Didn’t you say before that you had a better impression of Ruan Dali? How did it become Dazhuang?”

Zhou Qiao quickly shushed her, ”Yu, my preference for Ruan Dali is just between us, don’t let it slip to anyone else.”

Shu Yu, seeing her nervous expression, couldn’t help but laugh, ”Of course.” It was a matter concerning Second Sister Zhou’s reputation and future, so she definitely wouldn’t speak about it outside.

Only then did Zhou Qiao say, ”Actually, it just happened. The other day, I returned to Shangshi Village.”

The other day was the second day after the Mid-Autumn Festival, when Shu Yu went to the county office to testify in Chen Ji’s case.

Zhou Qiao had left earlier than her, but she went back to Shangshi Village with Lu Dasong and his wife.

”Shortly after I got home, Second Sister came to see me. She said the family had bought some things I used to love eating for the Mid-Autumn Festival and brought them to me. She stayed at home for a while, talked with me, and then prepared to go back. I walked her to the village entrance and we ran into Dazhuang, who was also preparing to leave the village.”

Dazhuang had come home the previous day for the Mid-Autumn Festival. He’s been working temporary jobs elsewhere these past years and almost never returns home for such holidays.
