The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1577: Chapter 1577: Mrs. Tan Wants to Give It a Try

Shu Yu paused, a flash of excitement in her eyes. She opened her mouth, eager to ask what was going on, what the plan was, and if Hao Dingshan had returned to the Capital.

But it was clearly not the right time now, as there were too many customers coming and going outside.

The middle-aged scholars knew what she was thinking and naturally didn’t say much. After those words fell, he immediately raised his voice in congratulations.

Shu Yu thanked him with a smile, ”Thank you, Lord Fei, for your concern. Please come inside for a cup of tea, teacher.”

The middle-aged scholar declined, ”No, I have other matters, so I’ll take my leave first.”

Shu Yu saw him out the door. When she returned, her expression was noticeably more relaxed than earlier.

The shop was even more crowded, not only with ordinary folks but even quite a few wealthy individuals came to buy sunflower oil. However, everyone was startled by the number of people in the shop.

Hasn’t the shop just opened not long ago, how come there are so many people already?

Shu Yu greeted at the entrance for a moment before returning to the shop.

As she stepped inside, she found that Mrs. Tan, who was supposed to be resting in the backyard, had come out. She was leaning against the raffle stand, watching with great curiosity as everyone took turns in the lottery.

When Shu Yu approached, she was still speaking with the Maid beside her, ”There seem to be only three prizes, I wonder what the grand prize is.”

Shu Yu stopped beside her and smiled, ”Mrs. Tan, are you interested?”

The latter turned her head, ”Of course I’m interested, your method is so novel and sensational that even I am excited to try. And the prizes are not stingy; even a consolation prize is good.”

Shu Yu sighed, ”But actually, I want people to genuinely like the melon seeds and sunflower oil more.”

Mrs. Tan laughed, ”You are greedy. Don’t you have to buy something before the lottery? Once bought, they won’t just leave them there unused. Whether it’s melon seeds or sunflower oil, or even your Instant Noodles, they’re all novel and delicious items. When the lottery’s excitement dies down, the reputation of these three will have already been established.”

Of course, Shu Yu understood this, so she wasn’t worried at all about the current situation where the prizes were more attractive than the melon seeds and sunflower oil.

There’s nothing to be done about it; everyone is always more curious about the unknown.

Shu Yu asked Mrs. Tan, ”Do you want to try drawing once?”

Mrs. Tan thought for a moment. Although she knew she should maintain her image as a lady from a wealthy family, the lottery was just too tempting. Especially since she saw many young women and ladies being equally eager, standing by waiting to try.

”Alright, then I’ll buy some sunflower oil and give it a try.”

”You don’t have to buy it...”

”No way,” Mrs. Tan said sternly, ”I can’t break the rules.”

Before Shu Yu could refuse, she directly instructed the Maid to place an order and get a token.

Shu Yu smiled and did not stop her. After all, she had prepared return gifts for every friend who gave gifts; when the time came, she would see what Mrs. Tan was interested in and give her an extra one.

There were more people buying melon seeds, but fewer buying sunflower oil, so it wasn’t long before the Maid returned with a token and went to line up.

The line for the lottery moved slowly due to the number of people, although there had only been one winner for the fifth and fourth prizes so far, this didn’t dampen the crowd’s enthusiasm.

Mrs. Tan watched the line moving not far away, rubbing her hands together with a hint of nervousness in her voice, ”I’m not very lucky, I’m not expecting the grand prize, a fourth place prize would be fine.”

Shu Yu was amused, just as she was about to say something, a sudden cheer erupted from the direction of the raffle stand.
