The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1559: Chapter 1559: Seeking Out the Xiao Family Again

Seeing that he knew what he was doing, Shu Yu had nothing more to say and let them continue with their work.

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly thought of something and said to An Letian, “By the way, our store sends out two sets of clothes each season. Manager Wei has already mentioned your measurements, and they’re still being made these days. They should be delivered before the opening.”

Although people were hired the day before yesterday, to avoid any delays, Manager Wei immediately sent An Letian’s measurements to Jiangyuan County’s Yiren Pavilion on the same day, and Fu Xiangdi had already started making them.

When Shu Yu mentioned this, An Letian’s eyes brightened. If there was one thing he worried about the most, it was clothing.

He learned everything else quickly, but he really had no talent for making clothes.

His father and mother made the family’s clothes before. Later, when his father fell ill, An Letian could only figure it out himself. Fortunately, after stopping hunting in the mountains, the clothes were less prone to tearing and lasted longer.

However, even so, frequent work wore them out quickly. Sometimes when his father felt better, he would sit on the bed and help him with patching.

As a result, his clothes were covered in patches.

Although there were ready-to-wear clothes shops in the prefecture, the prices were quite expensive. An Letian had used up almost all of the family’s savings to treat his father’s illness and couldn’t bear to buy from these shops. So he could only get fabric himself and ask a neighboring aunt to help make them, offering some wages in return.

But it was still troublesome and inconvenient.

Now that the store provides clothes, it’s like a gift from heaven for him. When he saw this clause in the contract earlier, he thought he was imagining things.

Now, hearing Shu Yu’s confirmation, An Letian couldn’t help but smile.

Seeing this smile, Shu Yu couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. Truth be told, it was quite charming.

He’s the kind of cheerful young man that when he smiles while hosting guests in the store, it definitely uplifts their spirits and increases their goodwill.

Shu Yu felt that Manager Wei had indeed chosen the right person.

She couldn’t help but smile as well, then went to the backyard with Manager Wei.

The warehouse was filled with melon seeds and sunflower oil. After examining them, Shu Yu said to Manager Wei, “Regarding the prizes for the drawing, I’ll list them in a bit, and you can go buy them. I have something to attend to, so I need to head out.”

The prizes should have been purchased a few days ago, but they ran into Lu Tong from the Xiao Family, and then got busy with Hao Dingshan’s matters, so they were delayed.

Fortunately, this matter isn’t urgent, and there’s still about seven or eight days left, so it’s manageable.

Wei Ronghua took the list, “Don’t worry, boss, I’ll handle it.”

With Wei Ronghua around, Shu Yu felt much more at ease. Leaving the store’s affairs entirely to him was enough.

She was thankful for the effort she put into traveling to Donggu County before, as it resulted in such a valuable peace of mind now.

Shu Yu, accompanied by Ying Xi, left the store and headed straight for the guesthouse where the Xiao Family was staying.

The Xiao Family had been staying there for four or five days now and needed to move to a new place. After all, inns are bustling with people, and staying longer would arouse suspicion.

Especially since the Xiao Family had not gone out; although they claimed to be resting due to health issues, after a while, the innkeeper would worry and suspect her of having a serious illness, fearing something might happen in the room.

When Shu Yu arrived, it was right at the time between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m, so there weren’t many people in the inn’s lobby.

The two of them went directly to the second floor, where it was Lu Tong who opened the door.

This time when they entered, there were no other guards inside.
