My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2040: Chapter 1833: Setting Sail for Love

With eyes filled with longing, embracing the warm sunlight, my heart holds tranquility, hoping for that peace!

”Do you really think you’re a good man? Actually, you’re not a good man at all. Do you have no self-awareness?

So many of the mistakes you’ve made, you always think they are someone else’s fault. You’ve never thought about taking responsibility for the errors you committed. You’re a coward, and I don’t want to marry a coward; I don’t want to spend my life with a coward!

Since things have come to this point, there’s no need for anyone to say anything more. We are living the lives we each want now, isn’t that great? Why keep entangled here, holding on to the past that’s already gone? Don’t force things that aren’t yours; they won’t belong to you even if you keep missing them. Why give up lifelong happiness for them?

I’ve been using you from the start, exploiting your love for me. You have feelings for me, and I use them to achieve my own goals. I have been ruthless in reaching my ends, doing things you can’t even imagine, things you’d never thought I could say behind your back.”

The past couple of days, I really didn’t want to listen to him speak any further. He raised his hand and slapped him, surprised by his own son’s actions. He never expected his son to hit a woman; last time, he didn’t expect his son to even strike his beloved wife. If this is his love, then his son should face some consequences.

”Stop saying these things to me. If you continue, don’t blame me for being rude to you. Whether I’m a coward has nothing to do with you, and what kind of a person I am is none of your business. I’ve made it clear in front of you: what you said means we are strangers now, with no connection or relationship. How dare you speak to a stranger in such a tone? I don’t care what you did behind my back to achieve your goals; I won’t pursue it further. But I don’t want to hear anyone say I’m a coward anymore. Otherwise, I will place all blame entirely on you!”

Xia Jing never thought Zhang Zhentian would actually hit her; after all these years, no matter how many mistakes she made, Zhang Zhentian had never hit her before. This was the first time, and she was honestly stunned.

”You dare to hit me, but I hope you remember this action for a lifetime. Since you’ve hit me, it proves we no longer have any relationship; you’ve broken our bond with your own hands. If you ever plead me to return to your side, remember today and what you did. You’ve shattered our couple’s affection of more than a decade with a single slap. For years, we’ve never had an argument, and all our days were filled with laughter. But today, you hit me because I called you a coward. You can’t even take a joke? Do you actually feel you’re useless, hesitant in your actions, lacking a man’s courage, needing a woman to stand up for you when facing difficulties? Don’t you feel your life is a failure? As a man, what’s the point of living in this world if you hit women? That only proves you’re indeed a useless man.

I won’t say much to you now, but hope you remember this slap, this imprint, it disrupted our acquaintance, our knowing each other, our companionship, and our separation...

If I had known you were someone who hits women, I would never have been with you. Such actions make me feel ashamed; a so-called man hitting his wife proves he has no courage. You’ve demonstrated with your actions that you’re useless, a coward, a man without backbone. It shows every mistake you commit is despicable in the eyes of others!”

Looking at his hands, Zhang Zhentian couldn’t believe he lashed out at the woman he loved the most in a moment of anger. Perhaps this family has indeed been torn apart forever by that slap, as such a proud woman was publicly humiliated by a man.

Xia Jing couldn’t accept this no matter what; even if this man loved her deeply, sacrificing everything for her, today he slapped her, this action thoroughly crushed her heart.

”Xia Jing, I’m sorry for that slap, I didn’t mean it. It was impulsive of me; I didn’t intend to hurt you. Can you forgive me? Don’t be mad at me, or I truly don’t know what to do!”

”You don’t need to say anything more to me; don’t think of keeping me by your side. Whether intentional or not, you’ve hit me, proving you don’t truly love me. If you don’t love me, don’t drag me down; let me seek the love I desire, the life I want, let me achieve the things I expect most in life!

Perhaps you think that slap was accidental, but in my eyes, it was deliberate. You purposely hit me because you didn’t want me to speak those words, because even you couldn’t accept the cowardly behavior of yours. I’ve thought about it; if one day the person I love the most ever hit me, I’d never live with him again because a man who hits his wife proves he’s not a man, and I absolutely won’t live with someone who’s not a man!

Do you dare say you’re still a man now?”

Zhang Zhentian was speechless at Xia Jing’s question; he knew this time he was indeed in the wrong!

Awaiting the return of the white crane is the most poignant moment!
