My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2004: Chapter 1798: Beach

Yearning climbs through dreams, who else in the future is worth all my sincerity to love?

”My grandparents, do you still not understand by now? No matter what mistakes I make, or how much trouble I cause, everyone in this world still views things from my perspective because I’m just a child. Even if I make mistakes, in my parents’ eyes, they won’t be too hard on me. I’m different from you. All you’ve done only makes others think you’re wrong, that you’ve let us down.

Of course, if you just immediately tell me the real reason you left, if you tell me whether the reasons you said to my father were true or false, I would leave right now and wouldn’t trouble you any longer.

Do you honestly think I have nothing better to do? Why would I come to you without reason to ask these questions? It’s because I have a deep-seated doubt about this; I don’t believe it’s that simple.”

”How many more times do you want us to say it, child?

Back then, when we left here, there really was no other reason. We just wanted to live our own lives peacefully, not live for others anymore.

We just wanted to go out and find our own freedom. The outside world is so vast and beautiful. Didn’t I deserve to leave this place and not grow old and die here, alone?

Do I have to be stuck here, let my life be restrained, unable to step outside even once?

Everyone has the right to go abroad, the right to make a choice for their own life. Why can young people do it, but we can’t? Just because we gave birth to you, do we have to sacrifice our lifelong freedom for our children repeatedly?

You are my grandson, your father is my own son. Over the years, we care more about how he is doing than anyone else, even if we never showed it openly. Do you think we really ignored all the bullying he faced as a child?

We couldn’t stand out; we wanted him to grow up independently. Although you might think these are just excuses, they are our true feelings. Every time we stood there watching him being bullied and still stood grounded, not moving forward. Do you have any idea how we, as parents, felt seeing our child being bullied? No one can understand this feeling.

You always believe we’re so selfish as parents; choosing to abandon family, children, and everything for a glimpse of the world’s beauty. But were we really wrong? Who doesn’t want to go out and see the world? For you, it might not mean much now, but for us, it was an opportunity to broaden our horizons, maybe the only one in our lifetime!

This time, after what happened, I know your father waited for us outside for a long time.

He stayed awake, waiting for an explanation, waiting for us to wake up. Deep down, he no longer resents us as he once did, but he could never put aside his pride to let us come home. I know, as a person, that’s about dignity and pride.

He couldn’t give up both his dignity and pride, but the fact that he came this far makes me very happy. I never thought my son would one day agree to have his father back to accompany him!”

”Grandpa, you know this isn’t the answer I’m looking for. You know I’m not standing here to listen to all this. I just want a straight answer: Why did you leave? What kind of result were you hoping for? In the end, aren’t the people you hurt the most the ones who love you the most?

You didn’t see my father waiting and watching over you both, his eyes already full of bloodshot veins. But he never closed his eyes, afraid that if he falls asleep, the news he wakes up to would be your disaster. He’s terrified of losing you completely, but have you ever thought about the psychological impact your actions would have on him?

Even now, my father stands at the pinnacle of his life, but none of it is due to you. He achieved everything with his own efforts, not through any help from you. What you’ve done is nothing short of an insult to him. Stating that today was possible because of you is delusional when it was his perseverance that brought him here. Did you really help him?

What else did you give him besides hurt?

In truth, deep down, you’re unsure of how many mistakes you’ve made, because you’ve never counted them.

Heaven has eyes and watches over you every day. Do you think it will always turn a blind eye? It’s not like that; there’s a saying, ’Not that it’s not reported, the time has not yet come.’ I believe heaven will give back what you owe my father eventually, whether good or bad, and when the time comes, you will bear it on your own.

Grandpa, Grandma, I’ve conveyed my greetings today. I never intended to chase you away. On the contrary, I truly hope you can return to this home. Only when everyone is here is it genuine reunion. I don’t want my father to long for you every day, nor my great-grandfather to stare in a daze at your photos every day. I don’t want them crying secretly in the corner.

All I’m doing isn’t for myself, nor for you; it’s for this family. I don’t want it to fall apart like this. I don’t want my father or my great-grandfather to endure such blows. They’ve borne too much already. For any remaining pain, let it fall to me. How could I bear to watch them be hurt again?

Rest well!”

After Zhang Ni expressed his heartfelt thoughts, he felt much better, leaving happily. But Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing’s hearts didn’t share the same joy, theirs were incredibly heavy. They didn’t realize that their actions would eventually deliver such blow and hurt.

I always thought I was brave. I don’t know what the future holds for me!
