My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2037: Chapter 1830: Holidays

Sometimes, wanting to live easily is really hard!

”Actually, none of the decisions you made were wrong; it was my extreme behavior that hurt you time and again, and in the end, I got nothing.

In this life, I have not wronged anyone. The ones I always mention are you and my father, who never listened to a word I said. I regret every mistake I made and can’t bring myself to forgive. I just want to ask you, haven’t you ever made a mistake? Everyone makes mistakes. To err is human, so how can you not believe that all my past actions were not my true intention? Doesn’t abandoning you hurt me as much as abandoning my classmates did? Do you genuinely believe that all the decisions I made were just to live selfishly for my own freedom, happiness, and joy?

I think you should consider things from my perspective and see how tough my life has been all these years.

I gave all my happiness and joy to your mother. As long as your mom could be happy, nothing mattered to me more than seeing her smile. Those years, I gave my all, including my genuine feelings and emotions, just to see her smile. Do you know how exhausting that time was for me? Did I really have no way to hang on? I was scared; scared that my only reason for holding on was fueled by his betrayal, ultimately only leading to hurt!

But I never gave up, because I wanted to give you a complete family. If any interests arose between your mother and me, then you would no longer have a mom and dad. If your parents are living and have separated, then you wouldn’t be in my protection zone, and would I have no feelings deep inside?

What I desire most is to return here, to your side, and see my son speaking to me, even if it’s just during conflicts again and again; even if ultimately, nothing is gained from it, not even the best outcome, I can still be happy and joyful. I don’t know by what kind of willpower I lived to today, but I feel that it’s already a great feat, a miracle.”

”Grandfather, I don’t quite agree with what you’re saying. You say to us that it’s a miracle that you’ve lived to today, but have you ever thought? My father living to today is the real miracle. When he was training in the mountains, enduring harsh conditions, he didn’t quit, even when he didn’t get to take naps. Have you considered what kind of terrible psychological trauma a child of just a few years old had to endure?

You want us all to consider things from your perspective, but have you ever considered ours? Did you think our lives were truly happy, easy, and carefree these years? While you could freely enjoy your life outside, we were trying desperately to prove we were strong and correct. We poured all our effort, training exhaustively to prove worth. What harm did you ultimately cause us?

You always believe that everything you did wasn’t wrong. Do you think accusations against you are just baseless?

You’ve changed; you’re not the same anymore, so can you stop saying these things?

When you chose to hurt us, it was destined for no good outcome. Grandfather, have you ever truly considered that although in your personal view, there was no error in your decisions, they might have caused harm to others? Your actions reflect selfishness, living for your own interests, not for others, who might be struggling immensely. My father wished you happiness and joy.

For your interests, you abandoned your relatives, causing your family pain time and again. Have you never feared being abandoned someday?

You are my grandfather, my father’s biological father. Have you ever considered how tough my father’s years have been?

In your eyes, shouldn’t there only be interests seen once, you should think of your family more often. Are they hurt by your actions? People should respect and care for each other. If every decision you make hurts others, why should they give you their genuine feelings?

Genuine emotions are exchanged mutually. If your eyes only see your interests, it shows you’ve lived too unsuccessfully. You always think about leaving the best things for yourself, but forget your family also needs companionship. Aren’t the moments when pain is secluded within you the time when you consider what your past sacrifices were for? What outcome were you hoping for?

Grandfather, as a younger generation, I might be too harsh today, but you should think about your actions, and see if it’s really not too much. Haven’t you thought that one day everyone will hate you and think everything you did was wrong? You’ve abandoned your relatives, your father, your entire family, disregarding the company he painstakingly built. I don’t know how to describe you; your every action seems so heartless. What were you really working for? Have you thought about how to live joyfully your entire life? You’ve caused others pain while keeping happiness for yourself. Over these years, have you really been happy? Has grandmother given you the most happiness? In truth, it’s when you come to this house, our family gathers joyfully to dine together, isn’t it?”

Zhang Zhentian didn’t expect that without saying anything, his grandson could see so clearly, understanding all his inner thoughts. He knew when he had been happiest, and he understood the toughest parts of his life too.

He truly is my grandson...

My descendants are my greatest pride!
