My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2035: Chapter 1828: Importance

Some journeys can’t be completed alone, but when two people join forces, there’s nothing they can’t face!

”What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and apologize to your father. Don’t you know where you went wrong?”

Xia Jing was almost driven mad by Zhang Zhentian. How could someone make a mistake and still be so unaware? Perhaps only her husband could be like that!

Zhang Zhentian finally realized he was wrong. He should apologize to his father, otherwise how much pain must his father’s heart harbor? As a son, he hurt him time and again; how should his father view him now? Has his impression of him dropped again?

”Dad, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it earlier. I couldn’t control my temper and snapped at you. Please don’t mind.”

Old Master Zhang laughed. His son never seemed to grow up, always thinking a simple sorry could resolve everything.

But is that really the case? Sorry isn’t all-powerful and can’t forgive all those who hurt us.

”Zhentian, do you really think a ’sorry’ can settle everything?”

Zhang Zhentian didn’t understand what Old Master Zhang meant. He had already apologized, what more was needed?

”Dad, what do you mean?”

”Shouldn’t you count how many times you’ve lost your temper with me? For what reasons did you repeatedly hurt me? Don’t you have any idea at all? Have you really forgotten everything? Even if you have, I haven’t. Do you want me to remind you of the past grievances?

Right from the beginning, you got angry at me over Xia Jing. Time and again, do you really think my heart is made of cotton? No matter what you say or do, will I forgive you without question?

You’re way too naive and ridiculous. I’ve forgiven you many times, but time and again, you brought me, your father, heavy hurt and blows. This time, I won’t forgive you.

Do you really think you’re fit to be a son when you so casually lose your temper at me, your father? I raised you with so much effort, and this is how you repay me?

I really can’t understand what you think of me in your heart as a father?”

Zhang Zhentian was surprised his father would bring up past issues, tallying everything. Did it mean he, as the son, was so untrustworthy that a simple release of emotions justified unforgiveness?

”Dad, are you really going to nitpick over a single thing I said to you?

You’re my father, I’m your son. Can’t you be a little more forgiving towards me?

Or do you think I’m not worthy of your forgiveness at all?”

Xia Jing was truly baffled. She had come to mediate, so why were they still fighting?

”Zhentian, can’t you speak to your dad in a better tone? If you spoke a bit more gently, you wouldn’t fight.”

”Then how should I speak? It’s wrong whether I say something or not. Everything I do is wrong, or should I just let you all handle everything?”

”Zhentian, what’s gotten into you today? Why are you randomly lashing out at everyone? Neither dad nor I did anything to provoke you today, right?

If you have something bothering you, you can share it with us, and I can help shoulder it. But can you calm down before speaking? Look at you now, you seem like a demon full of anger.”

”Xia Jing, don’t talk to him now. He’s almost like a demon who doesn’t recognize family. Look at how he talks, does he even see us as his family? We’re worse than enemies to him.

Years ago, his outbursts could be excused as youthful ignorance. But now he’s a grown man with a son and even a grandson. Yet, when he does these things, he doesn’t consider the consequences. Since childhood, he’s been happy living for himself, without caring about those around him.

In his eyes, we’re nothing. He vents his frustrations from outside on us, his family, without ever treating us as his family. He never considered that we also have feelings, get exhausted, and can be unable to bear it!”

”Dad, Zhentian isn’t really like that.

He might be genuinely upset over something today, so he directed his anger at us. As his family, we should be more forgiving, shouldn’t we? Holding onto this won’t lead to a good life for anyone, right?

You always said family should be understanding and forgiving of each other.

But now, we’re letting a small matter divide us. Do you think we still deserve to be a family?

I know it’s wrong for him to let go like this. You can’t endlessly forgive him; he should be accountable for his actions.

But after all, he’s part of the family, and everything he did was because of me.

If this incident causes discord between you two, put the blame on me.”

Old Master Zhang was at a loss. Why couldn’t his son amount to anything?

Sigh!

”I hope, no matter what you do, no matter the size of the issue, apologizing is never the best solution.

When an error is made, if you don’t take responsibility, no amount of money can buy back the harm you’ve caused others.”

”Zhentian, I really can’t figure out what’s with you today?

Why would you lash out at dad for no reason? He didn’t do anything wrong. He speaks for your own good. Your apology was insincere. I’m also displeased and can’t accept it. Why do you only apologize after realizing the error? Can your brain react a bit quicker?

I think you should understand your father better. Over the years, he has painstakingly raised your son; it wasn’t easy for him.

The hardships he endured are ones we’ve never experienced. We should always be grateful, thankful that he raised our child, and that he took care of this family for so long. We should take on responsibility the moment we return home!

Stop doing things that hurt your family!”

As long as two people are together, that’s happiness!
