My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1769: Chapter 1563: Ordinary

Zhihan, do you know? Sometimes I feel like I’m someone abandoned by the entire world. I know there’s no true empathy in this world, but I really regret letting you go!

”Zhentian, are you really that foolish? You never used to be like this. Although I often thought you were silly and said you were too naive, doing things without thinking them through.

But why, when you did this today, didn’t you consider the outcome from the depths of your heart? You never cared about what your father might think. In your eyes, there’s only me. But is a wife really that important to you? Your father is the one who gave birth to and raised you. He struggled to bring you up. I’m just a piece you married into the family. If a wife is lost, you can find another, but if your father is lost, he’s gone forever. Why don’t you consider your family’s feelings?

Although you care so much about me, deep down, I’m really touched and happy to receive such deep love from you. But sometimes love isn’t like this. Your love is too selfish. It’s not the kind of love we can bear. The life we want is very simple, and the happiness we desire is straightforward. But why does every outcome lead to us being in indescribable pain? Is that the ending you desire?

You should understand that everyone just wants a simple life. Over the years, we’ve been through so many ups and downs together. You know this better than anyone. You also know how I’ve lived through these years and what I mean to you. You understand deep down better than anyone else. So why do you pretend to be innocent? Do you think acting that way will earn people’s understanding of you? Do you find that amusing?

Again and again, I take the blame while you stand out, bearing everything for me, which makes the world see me as a terrible person!

Sometimes, think the other way around, consider the problem from someone else’s point of view. Through empathy, you’ll understand what your actions mean to others and how they might feel about such conclusions. Never think only from your angle, for such a view is too careless. You can’t make decisions on others’ behalf about what they want. Often, your perspectives might just be your misconceptions about others, but they may not think that way at all, often leading to growing misunderstandings between us. Isn’t that the case with us?

I believe at this time, the one you should apologize to the most isn’t me but your father. If you truly died here today, you would lose your father and your son. Frankly speaking, you would once again abandon them, this time forever. In their hearts, they’d never forgive you for being a heartless father and son because your actions are simply unforgivable. Why would you treat them like that repeatedly, just for me?

I once said that I would no longer resent you for any past events. By marrying you, it proves that I won’t pursue past mistakes. You don’t need to keep clinging to past issues, as it does no good and only worsens our relationship, making it more troublesome. I just want to stay here peacefully, around my child. Please give me this chance. Don’t make things difficult for me repeatedly or go against me.”

Zhang Zhentian lowered his head as his wife spoke, because for the first time, he realized that nothing he had done was right. His wife was always so understanding, making him question what his actions truly represented. He almost caused his father to lose him forever, even though his father cared so much about him. Yet, why did he make such thoughtless decisions, treating everything so simply, disregarding their feelings?

The blame lay in his own stubbornness, with his actions repeatedly failing to consider if others could bear such blows. What he desired was only a momentary impulsive decision, which in hindsight, he regretted, but it was already too late. No one waits forever for someone to admit their wrongs, and even if they do, forgiveness isn’t guaranteed.

”Xia Jing, I’m sorry, I understand now. Everything I did before wasn’t right. Now I just want a stable life. I’ll never easily gamble my life away again because life is just one, and I can’t joke with it. If I did, then how painful would my family be, especially my father? As you said, how could he send a black-haired person to the grave while he’s still alive?

If that happened, how painful must it be for them? I’m his son, yet I left him with only this method. How could he understand, find joy, when all a father desires is for his son to live peacefully by his side, to speak to him often, and feel comfort knowing he’s around? But if I truly left this world, what would my father say? Unable to even see his own child, still, he’d be in utter despair?”

”It’s good that you’ve figured it out. If you keep this up, I really won’t know how to speak to you anymore.

Your thinking is slower than everyone else’s. Others immediately recognize their mistakes, but you hardly respond before assuming there’s nothing wrong with what you did. Yet reality proves that everything you did was wrong. You never considered others’ thoughts at the time. If you still don’t rush to sincerely apologize to your father now, do you still expect him to keep worrying about you?

Parents, no matter when or where, always care about their child’s wellbeing. Even if the child makes mistakes, parents only care about their child’s life!”

I will always remember the phrase: I must wait for you to return. This home needs you.
