My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1775: Chapter 1569: Angel

I wish I could become the angel you love most in the fairy tale, always protecting you, but now I am so tired.

Whenever Old Master Zhang sees his family arguing incessantly here, he feels unsettled because he desires simplicity. Yet, why has everything become so difficult, transforming him into something he never wanted to be? No matter what he becomes, he wonders what he looks like in the eyes of his family. He deeply wishes that everyone at home could understand him, especially that he is not a heartless or unfeeling father, nor is he a stern old man. He is simply an aged relative who needs everyone’s care and affection.

But he asks too much, expecting things that can never be fulfilled.

They gradually realized that what they once desired is no longer obtainable at will. They demand too much, and others cannot fulfill their objectives, inevitably leading to disputes. These repeated quarrels eventually wound everyone’s souls.

If this was truly the outcome he wanted, he wouldn’t have chosen to bring them back home. He once gave the greatest leeway to both sides, following his innermost thoughts. However, if he was repeatedly hurt by others, why should he reveal his heart to them? Trading hearts doesn’t guarantee soul and body, so why let himself get wounded all over?

Zhang Yichen seems to understand his grandfather’s thoughts. He cannot accept, let alone forgive, the harm brought to his family by his parents, even though they too have suffered much. After all, it was the consequence of their own actions, unrelated to anyone else in the family. Yet, the harm caused to the family was indeed caused by them. This is a deep-seated pain within him, a wound that cannot be erased. No one wishes to let their family be hurt this way. They only want their family to live happily and joyfully, even if it means altering their initial intentions, making life different from what they once envisioned. Ultimately, it has nothing to do with them, as they do not wish for things to end this way.

”No matter how much I trusted someone on mobile, it’s best not to easily believe in anyone too quickly. Believing every word of someone effortlessly will ultimately lead to irreparable outcomes. They won’t be sincere with you, and will never honestly tell you everything. They’ll just choose to hurt you time and time again with such remarks.

Over the years, I’ve gradually become accustomed to everything. No matter how earnestly I devote myself to him, in his eyes, it’s merely a fleeting thought. He will never understand how exhausted an elder like me truly feels.

I’ve given everything for my children, but in his eyes, you are just a tool to be used. He will never care what you did for him or what you sacrificed. All he sees is the immediate benefits. He doesn’t care about your hardships. Everyone goes through it. I don’t know how I spent my time in the past, but deep inside I will never forget watching what I cherished slowly slip away, and what I held dear abandon me completely. I am also weary. I don’t know what I should do to keep what I want most close, never leaving, but it seems for everyone it is very difficult.”

”Actually, none of this is really that hard. Focus more on what you have, and don’t compare yourself to others. What you have is what’s most worth cherishing. If you keep comparing what you don’t have to what others have, you’ll live a very hard life. You want everything to be like others. You’re blindly chasing them, making their life your shadow. You’re following their steps, forgetting what your life should truly be, whether your youth should be spent in regret or without regrets.

Everyone’s life is different, never tread in the footsteps of others on the road of life. That’s not your life. No matter how glorious someone else’s life seems, that’s theirs, unrelated to you.

Never envy someone else’s rich and exciting life. It has nothing to do with you. Always be clear about what life path you truly desire. Don’t let your actions make everything passive as it is now. Perhaps one day you will realize, every step you take leaves behind unique footprints belonging to you. It’s your growth journey, no matter what you’ve experienced or what kind of setbacks and hurt you’ve faced, it’s a beautiful experience. When you look back years later, you will realize it was the most necessary bump on your life journey. No matter when or where, you can’t avoid those ups and downs. Growth happens by facing and overcoming what you once feared the most. When you get everything you deeply desire, you’ll realize it aligns with your life’s expectations. You’ll feel no regrets towards your youth, nothing towards yourself, and all goals reached were once the targets you most desired. When you reach these goals, you will find that it was indeed challenging in the past, but your feelings will be vastly different in that moment.

I’ve witnessed many people experiencing life’s highs and lows, their ways of living, their pain, and sadness, but they never gave up. They constantly find the perfect outlet for their life.”

Thinking about it this way, it seems my grandson’s words are indeed correct. Everyone has their path in life, facing the ups and downs they must endure. Others can’t help you avoid these; you can only rely on your own efforts to experience them. Only by living an extraordinary life can one walk towards their happiest moments.

If you always stand still, no matter how wealthy or successful you seem, you’ll never be truly happy!

Once, I cried while telling you everything in my heart.

One day, I will become the angel you love in the fairy tale, spreading my wings to embrace and protect you...
