My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1778: Chapter 1572: In a Hurry

Perhaps amidst the rush and chaos, you glimpse an aspect of yourself in others’ love stories, only on that day can you truly know all those deeply imprinted things in your heart.

When Zhang Ni learned that his grandparents were planning to leave home once again, he was momentarily shocked. He couldn’t believe his grandparents would do such a thing, leaving time and again. Why choose to repeat this mistake now? Were they really just using everyone in the family?

Zhang Ni saw his father still here, and he couldn’t believe it. Despite the chaos in the family, his father could still stay here nonchalantly, without concern for any changes that might happen. Had his words truly hurt his father’s feelings, making him unwilling to care about family matters, no matter how the family turned out, refusing to intervene?

This was not the result he wanted to see. Although he hoped his father would spend more time with his mother, forcing his father to make a decision in this way meant he would be the one disrupting family harmony. He couldn’t let that happen. What he desired was simply for everyone in the family to be happy and joyful. Even if no one at home wanted to understand him, it didn’t matter, as long as he was true to himself.

”Dad, since you know that grandparents intend to leave home again, to abandon all of us during those few days, shouldn’t you go back and take a look?

If you’re unwilling to go back because of my words saying you haven’t fulfilled your caregiving responsibilities for my mother, then I tell you now, I will take care of my mother. But I also hope you seriously consider whether to go back or not. After all, they are your parents, my grandparents. If they are making such a decision today, it must be because of us. Don’t you want to persuade them to stay? When they put aside all pride and begged to return home, it proves that they genuinely wanted to stay. But for our little disputes, they decided to leave once again. Is it really right for us to let them go by doing this?

We should understand that it is challenging for someone to let go of prejudices and admit fault to their family, just to return home. We should not blame them entirely. Haven’t we made any mistakes ourselves? We should reflect on whether our actions were right or wrong, not always shifting the blame onto others. Others aren’t our scapegoats; they hold no responsibility to bear all the guilt repeatedly for us...

Perhaps you think my words today are somewhat excessive, but have you considered the courage it took for grandparents to return to this home and admit fault? It’s to hope we could forgive them and let them stay, no longer leaving. But now, with things turning out this way, I really have no way to understand or accept the reasons for this outcome. If it is due to my actions, then what must I do to retain them? Every action I’ve taken has caused so much pain and suffering to them, something I’ve never considered.

You are their son, and now things are like this. You should definitely go back to see them, at least attempt to retain them. Whatever their final decision is doesn’t concern us, but if we don’t even bother to check, and casually ignore everything while they leave, we’ll only be criticized for not fulfilling the slightest responsibility as younger generations, not caring enough to retain our elders.”

Zhang Yichen genuinely didn’t expect his son to say such things. He thought his son, no matter what, should carefully consider whether this was right or wrong. But now that his son spoke to this extent, if he chose not to go back, how would he justify it? All he wanted was for them to stay home peacefully. Yet now, even with things turning out this way, the blame shouldn’t be entirely on his parents. Even if they hadn’t returned, maybe this outcome would still occur. Perhaps it’s predestined, so why let them bear this guilt?

Zhang Yichen decided to go back and see his parents. If they insisted on leaving, unwilling to stay home to accompany him, then he had nothing to say. If he didn’t try to retain them, and they left never to return, he would be the one to regret.

Returning home, Zhang Yichen saw his parents had already packed their luggage, ready to leave. He suddenly didn’t know how to speak; should he make this attempt or not? Would he truly regret if he missed the chance? Would silently waiting here mean they wouldn’t leave? It wasn’t certain. He knew his parents’ characters deeply, they certainly wouldn’t stay here.

”Are you two planning to abandon me once more now, in this state after returning home? I just want to ask, do you truly love me? If you do, then don’t leave me!

If you choose to leave today, then regardless of whether you return or not, I won’t forgive you.

I’m not a Saint. I cannot accept my parents hurting me repeatedly, being indifferent. Perhaps you think it’s irrelevant, but for me, it isn’t possible. If you could think from my perspective, the outcome might be completely different. Now, even knowing my wife is in this state, you choose to leave at this time, isn’t it just adding insult to injury?”

I believe, in the end, we will have the most beautiful conclusion.
