My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1792: Chapter 1586: Pleading

Once, I was so humble, begging you to stay by my side, but in the end, I found that it was all just a vain wish.

”Dad, I am your biological son, can’t you help me with this matter? What would it cost you to help me? I only need you to lend me a hand, it’s just a small task for you, why won’t you put in a bit of effort for me?” Zhang Zhentian was utterly helpless, driven speechless by his father’s stubbornness. His words were incoherent and impulsive. Old Master Zhang was deeply hurt upon hearing these words from his son. It seemed that no matter how much he, as a father, had sacrificed for his son, it was never acknowledged in Zhang Zhentian’s heart. He would always believe that his father had never given anything. What more could he do to make this ungrateful son understand how exhausted he was as a father?

”Do you know how hurtful the words you’ve said to me today are? I’ve done so much for you, yet in your eyes, why do I never seem to have contributed? Can’t you think for a moment before you act? Can’t you consider others’ feelings when you say such things? Are you really going to be this selfish and self-centered forever, just saying and doing whatever you want, without considering others’ feelings? You were like this in the past, you are like this now, and will you continue to be like this in the future? So many years have passed, and not a bit of improvement, still the same as before? You make me feel ashamed before the ancestors of the Zhang Family. How could I have had such an unfilial son, or birthed a son with no sense? I hope today’s words are the last of their kind. If you dare speak to me like this again, I will never forgive you for the rest of my life. You’ve said such things before, I took it as your youthful ignorance, but now you’re already grown, even have a son, yet you still say such things, which I find unacceptable. Haven’t I done enough for you? You’ve made countless mistakes before, and every time, who was it that helped you out of those troubles? Yet, you are always so self-righteous, obstinate, and never consider my feelings as your father. What right do you have to call yourself my son or a child of the Zhang Family? With someone like you, I feel ashamed for the ancestors of the Zhang Family.”

”Since you are unwilling to help me, then forget it. Let’s pretend I never asked you for anything. I won’t bother you with such matters in the future. So, I hope you remember every word you said today. This is what a father says to his son. I know all these years, I haven’t been filial, and I’ve never been by your side to care for you. All these years, it’s been my son accompanying you. But he is my son; isn’t his company similar to me being with you? Why do you still fuss over such trivial matters? Wouldn’t it be better if we could all let go of our grudges and live happily together?”

After speaking, Zhang Zhentian turned and walked out the door of the Zhang Family. He didn’t intend to rely on his father for help anymore. He now understood that his father would never help him, no matter what. He could only turn to his own son for assistance. Perhaps only his son could help him, offering him a glimmer of hope.

”Son, if you still consider me your father, then I hope you can do me a favor. Go and persuade your mother not to leave me, to come back to my side, so our family can live together happily. If your mother leaves, how heartbroken would your father be!”

”And now you come to tell me about my mother, and how heartbroken you feel. Have you ever thought about how heartbroken we were when you heartlessly left us? How heartbroken was Grandpa, your biological son, that you could act so ruthlessly? If my mother treats you like this, it’s because she knows. I absolutely won’t help you persuade her to come back. I believe my mother is happier apart from you, living the life she wants, no longer having to endure being with you. I know that during the time spent with you, she was often unhappy, forcing herself to stay by your side. She didn’t want to cause any regret, yet you cruelly abandoned her. Since you’ve already chosen to abandon her, don’t try to make her come back now. Your thoughts are misguided. My mother would not return to you just because of some sweet words. You know her character better than I do. Once she decides something, she won’t regret it. You abandoned her, causing her lifelong emotional pain. Why would she return to endure more suffering when she can happily live the life she wants? Why leap into a pit and never find peace?”

”Are you still my son? How can you say such things? Do you know how much your words hurt us? Why have you become like this? I know these words must have been taught to you by your grandpa, right? I never expected my father to act so heartlessly, even corrupting my son. If you continue like this, it only proves your grandpa didn’t raise you right. You’ve become a child without proper upbringing.”

”Anyone can say that except you. I was raised by Grandpa with great effort, and you had nothing to do with it. You remember picking me up, don’t you? How dare you insult my grandpa? He’s your biological father. You don’t have the right, especially after everything he’s done for you. You have no right to say anything against him. You’re the least qualified person in the world to say anything bad about Grandpa. If I ever hear you speaking ill of my grandpa again, I won’t let it go lightly. Who do you think you are? Just because you fathered me? Over and over, you’ve hurt those who love you. We may overlook it, but I can’t forgive you for speaking ill of my grandpa! Do not contact me again in the future. Let’s not meet anymore, because seeing you only reminds me of what you said about my grandpa and the pain it causes me...

Do you still remember every word we once said together? How laughable it seems now. I can hardly believe that in the end, it all fell apart here.
