My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1772: Chapter 1566: Fulfillment

I once always thought that falling in love with you was the most fulfilling thing for me. I never thought to ask for more, but I don’t know why the words suddenly stopped like this.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt fear in his heart. He felt that no matter what, this matter must be clarified with his wife face to face, otherwise he would wake up in the middle of the night even when sleeping, and he would not sleep peacefully.

This time, Xia Jing saw her husband calling her, but she was unwilling to answer the phone no matter what. Clearly, she had already spoken so clearly, yet why does this man always pester her relentlessly? Is she really unable to escape from him? How can she truly rid herself of this person?

Zhang Zhentian called one after another, but his wife just didn’t answer. He knew that this time he had truly hurt his beloved wife’s heart, but no matter what, he had to ask her face to face, otherwise how could his heart be at ease? If his love for her was truly so deceitful, then he should face it. He only cared that she lived happily, perhaps he should have long learned to let go, to complete his wife, let her live the life she wants. She stayed by his side for so many years, each day not knowing if she was truly happy. She never discussed what happiness meant to her with him.

Zhang Zhentian refused to give up. He called again and again, but no one answered, so he sent a message directly: If you still consider me a friend, if you still hold me in your heart, then please answer my call. I have something very important to ask you, something that concerns both of us. If I clarify this matter and the truth is as I think, then I will no longer pester you. I will give you the freedom you want, allowing you to seek the happiness and life you desire.

Xia Jing read the message her husband sent, her heart was shaken. What does finding the desired answer mean? Then he would give up on her? What does this sentence mean? She had already clearly and plainly spoken with him, what more is there to communicate? Maybe this matter is really important, otherwise how could he still be so persistently calling after so many hang-ups.

”What do you have to say? I hope you can say it all at once this time. After today, I will never answer any of your calls again, nor will I reply to any message. I hope you can think through every question you want to ask before coming to me, or else you will lose the chance to ever communicate with me again. We shouldn’t keep dragging on like this, making others unhappy. We should live happily, separation is not shameful. I just know that if you truly no longer have me in your heart, then please don’t forcibly keep me by your side. You won’t be happy, nor will I, let’s give each other a way out, okay? Don’t push each other to a dead end, leaving no way out!”

They both came to the lakeside. Zhang Zhentian spoke straight to his wife: ”Today, I don’t want to say anything, I just want to ask you one question. I hope you can honestly answer me, telling me your most genuine thoughts, okay?”

”Ask.”

”I want to ask you, what kind of love has your heart had for me these years? What kind of feeling is that? Can you clearly tell me? This is what I most want to know. If today you give me the answer, I will consider whether I should give up on you, then I can give you the freedom you want, you can live the life you wish for, and you will no longer be persistently entangled by me every day.”

”I must admit, in the early days of being with you, the feelings I had for you were indeed from the heart, I genuinely wanted to spend a lifetime with you. But gradually, after I had a child, when we abandoned our son, chose to live far away, that’s when I realized we weren’t the most suitable match. Gradually, my love for you also changed, became faint, because every action you took seemed to brush me off, making me lose trust in you. Without trust, how can a marriage be happy? I didn’t even know when my feelings for you deteriorated to this point. At that moment, I never thought I wanted to leave you, but when I had to see you, I realized I couldn’t let go. Regardless, I couldn’t put you down, that feeling is the most genuine emotion. And every day I’m with you, I hope everyone can live happily. Even if we aren’t the most suitable match, I still hope we can persist together, live our lives to the end. You heartlessly pulled me to the civil affairs bureau to handle the divorce papers, from that moment, I lost heart in you. Even if I have feelings for you afterward, it’s not genuine anymore, because that genuine feeling vanished the moment you abandoned me. Such feelings cannot arise ever again, the tacit understanding between us has completely disappeared. How can there still be love between us? Actually, you should be well aware inside. I also understand exactly why you’re asking me this question today. I’ve given you all my answers. Do whatever you want honestly; I absolutely won’t have any complaints!”

Zhang Zhentian never thought that in his wife’s eyes, he was still so important, it seems he really misunderstood her. If he hadn’t selfishly insisted on the divorce back then, maybe things wouldn’t have reached this stage today. Many times, he was the one who did wrong, why did he blame everything on his wife, making her lose heart? It’s understandable she doesn’t want to return to him now, seems like he can only completely let go to make his wife happy. His love wasn’t deceitful; rather, it was he who used a villain’s heart to judge a noble soul...

I always feel we protect each other, yet it does not decrease the heat of our mutual yearning. We act indifferent, listening to the other’s spoken words, receiving careful care. The painful ones are those trapped by memories!
