My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1766: Chapter 1560: No Way Back

We can never return to what we used to be; when I see you again, you are both unfamiliar and familiar. And I cry, perhaps because I am very happy!

Some love remains a secret forever, so beautiful that it stays in memories.

Where Xiao Wei heard it from, he didn’t know, but ever since his older sister and brother-in-law returned to their home, his parents have been indifferent to him. Even though their biological son displayed such deep affection in the hospital, they still showed him off-putting faces once back home.

This made him almost disbelief that the person who cried so genuinely in front of him could have such a true disposition.

How could it change so drastically upon returning home to his parents?

He truly didn’t understand; is this still the nephew he used to know?

He really wanted to find his older sister and brother-in-law and ask them clearly what this ending means when they came home. Are they happy with this outcome?

Actually, for Xia Jing, this outcome was still very satisfying.

After all, he had been back with his family, staying close to his son. Such a result was beyond joyful for him, how could he be so greedy?

Only those who have lost something can understand how significant their mistakes are, and those who have lost can realize how important those people and things they lost were.

Li Jiayuan knew the deep discomfort in Xiao Wei’s heart, after all, that was his sister. Even if there was no blood relation, how could the years of sibling love easily be forgotten?

”Xiao Wei, do you know what Elder Sister Xia Jing is thinking?

She should be laughing even in her dreams now!

She waited so many years to finally return home, regardless of what the outcome is once back; she will be happy. That’s the home she dreamt of day and night for decades!

Just because of those mistaken notions from the past, she ended up like this, we couldn’t help her, nor could we stop her from getting hurt.

Sometimes, things need to look forward; if your information is here, then you must consider what good it does for you to continue being persistent. You never care about what kind of harm your family might endure. Perhaps you think you’re enjoying the moment, but in the end, the harm received might be even greater. You should stand in her position and think about what she will endure; the result shouldn’t just cater to your ideas, disregarding others’ safety!

I know you’re worried about your sister, how could I not worry? After all, she’s become a good friend to me; regardless, she’s my closest friend. How can I just put all her matters aside, not manage them, not ask, and not care?

I just don’t know how to tell her certain things, or after telling, whether she would return to her previous uncomfortable state. Will she be thrown out of the house again like before?

If we can just live peacefully like before, without interfering in their lives, maybe as time passes, their grudges will dissipate. If because of our involvement, their family relationship worsens, wouldn’t that be a deep-seated guilt for us?”

Xiao Wei knows his wife deeply cares for his older sister and their family’s life, just like he does. But he thinks his wife is right this time; regardless of the relationship with his sister, these things shouldn’t be interfered with or questioned. Once involved, the situation changes, and it won’t end easily. If truly his involvement brought his sister even deeper harm, wouldn’t his guilt be more severe?

”You’re right; I shouldn’t intervene, nor should I participate in their family matters; let them resolve it themselves. If because of my involvement, they end up like that, then I’d be at a loss even if I jumped into the Yellow River. I just want to help them, not harm them in the end!

Maybe we really should just quietly live our own life, avoid interfering in their relationship, and perhaps, as time goes on, those who were hurt might become different from before. If due to our mistakes, they endured harsher blow, what should we do then?

Over these years, he lived much like you mentioned, never easily. Even back at home now, he suffers greatly, even painfully, but deep inside, he is sweet. And he never had such a happy life before; in his eyes, he doesn’t want much, just to peacefully return home beside his family to find happiness!

Sometimes, I hardly understand my sister’s thoughts about wanting such a life, but seeing her so blissful, my heart feels some unease. No matter what, she relied on her own efforts to live until today, trudged every step so difficultly without relying on others. She declared to the world through her actions that she could reach the end by her efforts even though she is a woman!”

Li Jiayuan couldn’t help but sigh at Xia Jing’s life since knowing her. From the day she met her, she knew this woman was not simple; her life was not as often seen, nor was it easy. She painstakingly got where she is now, yet she never saw her ever live joyful.

”Maybe what we don’t understand is the life she truly wants. Seeing her so pained, do you think our study material feels well? Yet she looks so happy and joyful, forgetting all the pain and worries in her heart, as long as she lives happily, she is content. Why should we interfere in her numerous matters?

She just experienced a life-and-death ordeal, for her, all she wants now is to cherish her remaining time well.

Because she realizes now, time is precious, living steadily isn’t easy; without effort, why should one continue living here, what will the result be? Nobody knows the life path is explored step by step by oneself; no one gave a smooth path from the start to traverse easily.

Xiao Wei, though we’re a couple, certain things we shouldn’t interfere in others’ affairs, as they might only bring disasters upon themselves. I hope you can seriously consider!”

Once I hoped the world would know how much I love you, but we didn’t end up together; maybe all this is fate?

Now I hold you deep inside my heart, longing for you to return to my side soon!
