My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1487: Chapter 1281: An Excited Heart

You never expected that when I finally thought I could hold your hand at our wedding, I would be so happy. For me, wherever there is joy, there is happiness, even just thinking of you makes my lips curl into a smile, thinking of your face emerging in my mind brings more joy deep within me. Yet, I never imagined why all this turned out this way.

”Well, as long as they can wake up, it will be a happiness for this couple too. They have gone through so many storms over the years, and if they lose their lives because of this, how unfair it would be for them. Who has considered their inner feelings? No one knows what they truly want. But as long as they can live in this world, perhaps that is the greatest comfort. Everyone wants different things, and everyone gets different outcomes in this world. No matter how much one has given, as long as one can reap a little reward at the end, it is something worth celebrating!”

”Yes, if they truly cannot wake up, then how devastating would it be for a child? They never considered this. Perhaps every parent has moments of selfishness, but when a selfish act harms relationships with their family, it is not worth it for anyone.”

”Mom and Dad, can you really bear to see your own son in such pain here? I really hope you can wake up. Mom and Dad are slowly showing some response now, why aren’t you reacting? Why are you hurt worse than Mom? I really hope both of you are okay, it would be better if the one lying in the hospital was me. I’m willing to bear all the pain for you, but I don’t want to see you suffer even a slightest harm. I don’t know why, but slowly I’ve come to accept you deep inside.

As long as you are not harmed, it seems like I can endure all the pain, I really don’t care about so much. What I want is really simple, just living directly is the happiest thing for me. I never considered what kind of life I would lead. Everyone is living like this. I live through it again and again, is what I want still not simple enough?”

Zhang Yichen was even more moved seeing Xia Jing’s finger move. He believed his call had a significant effect on his mother. He just wanted his mother to wake up, not worrying that his father wouldn’t wake up. He trusted there was a tacit understanding between them that couldn’t be broken by anyone. He believed that as long as one person woke up, the other would wake up immediately, because that was something unique to them that no one else would know.

”Mom, you’re about to wake up, aren’t you? I believe you really can’t bear to leave me alone here. These past years, you know how hard I’ve lived. I can no longer bear the blow my Mom and Dad have given me. As long as you live on, even if I’m pierced by a thousand arrows, I wouldn’t care. As long as you can be safe and happy, it means more than anything to me. Grandpa is already sick. Do you know you must wake up, wake up quickly? Do you know? I’m your son, am I not? I’m the son you’ve abandoned for so many years, yet never hated you!”

Xia Jing heard these words, and his fingers moved more frequently. He didn’t know if it was his subconscious or something else, he knew he was guilty toward his son. But upon hearing, he immediately opened his eyes to see his son.

These years, he owed his son so much. He was most aware of this himself. He knew he might never have a way to let his son live happily like before. But it was all his own doing. As a mother, shouldn’t he quickly open his eyes and make amends to his child? Should he really let his child continue to suffer like this? If that was true, then what right did he have to be his mother?

”Mom, open your eyes, quickly open your eyes, it’s me, your son, I’m waiting for you here.

I’ve been here, accompanying you for so many days. Day and night, I never left. What I want is just for you to wake up. Don’t you know it? How much I long for you to wake up quickly, as long as you wake up, what does it mean to me?

Don’t make me worry anymore, don’t make me sad anymore, as long as you wake up, it means more to me than anything else. Wake up, mom, wake up quickly and look at me, look at your grandson. He longs for his grandma to talk to him. Wake up quickly and see grandpa, grandpa is still waiting in the ward. Because of you, he has aged. Can you really bear to see so many of us, suffering all responsibilities for you two, one by one moving into the hospital?”

Xia Jing suddenly opened his eyes at that moment, realizing how bright it was when he did. He hadn’t seen the sunlight in a long time, he couldn’t even remember. He had been living in a nightmare, unable to escape, hearing his son’s cries but unable to open his eyes that felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. He was afraid too, hoping to open his eyes, to see his son, to see his father, to hug his grandson. He knew how much he owed these years, how much he owed in total, and couldn’t escape it. He could only rely on his will to live each day step by step. These years, he longed for so much, it’s not fake. Today, he finally achieved everything he dreamed of.

The moment he woke up, had he already forgotten why he argued with his husband? He remembered vaguely what he had done, choosing constructive pursuits, forgetting those most painful things, only remembering his happiest memories.

Maybe it’s the best for her, but her son didn’t know, not even she knew why her mind was in chaos remembering nothing, only finding out after the doctor’s examination that she had selective amnesia.

She woke up, but her husband didn’t wake up, a blow to everyone, yet also a happiness. As long as one person wakes up, it’s also happiness, and by waiting, believing in the miracle to continue happening.

Did I tell the world about my love for you, yet in the end, you still want to leave me? How do I withstand this blow, and how do I smooth the pain deep inside?
