My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1457: Chapter 1251: Glory

I once searched along the direction she pointed out, but couldn’t find it myself; all of this only made my heart feel heavier.

Old Master Zhang realized at that moment that he really had no way to communicate with his daughter-in-law about this matter. Perhaps this outcome would ultimately feel like a difficult decision to them. No parent can truly turn a blind eye to their own child.

”I know I’ve said too much now, and you may not feel that this is the best outcome, but please try to think from your child’s perspective. If he is willing to be trampled by others, if he is willing to be stepped on by others years later, without any ability to fight back, if he is willing to be a Lower-class Person all his life instead of an Upper-class Person, then you have the right to dictate his life. But if he chooses not to take this path, then as parents, you cannot take away his right to choose freely, nor should you allow your child to resent you years later. The only thing you can do is let your child be grateful, knowing that his mom and dad are his strongest support, and that whatever decision he makes, his parents will always support him from behind!”

”Grandpa, I understand. Rest assured, but I want to make an agreement with you. If my child chooses to walk a different path in life, then none of us should burden him with the responsibilities of the Zhang Family. Let him do whatever he wants freely. I don’t want my child to be burdened with the family’s pressure from birth as he grows. Such pressure can be suffocating—I don’t want my child to slowly endure all this pain as he grows. I really can’t bear it!

But if my child ultimately chooses to take this path, I too will support him unwaveringly. I will let him know that even if the whole world abandons her, as her mother, I will never abandon her. I will always be by her side, supporting her silently, praising him eternally. I will let him know that one day, he can still become an Upper-class Person, and all results of these efforts will come from his own hard work!”

Old Master Zhang did not expect his granddaughter-in-law to suddenly speak such words. He was a bit taken aback. If there had been such an agreement earlier, things would not have become so difficult or complicated. Everyone’s chosen life path is indeed different; this path might become the grand avenue of your life or your abyss of pain. No one can control their own life, nor can they change everything to match their imagination unhesitatingly. The only thing that can be changed is that the efforts you make can eventually be rewarded. Otherwise, no matter how much effort you put in, you will still end up with nothing.

”Since you’ve said so, then I also have to make this agreement with you. I hope that by then, you can remember what you’ve said today. I also believe that your child will absolutely choose to continue down this path, no matter how many thorns, how much difficulty or what might happen ahead. I believe he will continue with this decision.

Because no descendant of the Zhang Family is a loafer; because every member of the Zhang Family is gallant and high-spirited, ready to give up everything for their ideals. Every member of the Zhang Family possesses unchangeable pride, ready to forsake all for their dignity and self-respect. I believe he will be no exception because he is an authentic descendant of the Zhang Family!

Whatever our child does, we shouldn’t use it as a wager. But today, we have no choice but to do so. It might make our child feel that we adults are merely using him for a trade of interests. Yet today’s decision might make our child eternally grateful to us, or on the contrary, feel that we merely regard him as a tool, never considering his true inner thoughts. Regardless of whether the result is good or bad, it cannot change our child’s impression of us!”

”Grandpa, my actions are not aimed at changing my son’s impression of me as his mother. What I want is just for him to have a chance to choose his life. I only hope that she doesn’t regret her choice. If this life is what she truly desires, then as a mother, how could I interfere with her life and destroy her happiness? I merely want him to know that regardless of the outcome, every step he makes must be completed, even if it means leaving a trail of bloody footprints, without retreat, never giving up halfway!

Perhaps everyone has different ways of educating their children, but I never thought that there would ultimately be a divergence on this path of teaching our children. Our mentality towards our child is the same, yet no one thought that we would finally decide their path in this way, to ultimately choose which road would be the best outcome for them!”

In fact, how could Old Master Zhang have imagined that his granddaughter-in-law would propose such an agreement today? This kind of agreement may not necessarily be a good thing for anyone, yet it isn’t entirely a bad thing. No one can determine what the future holds, nor can anyone preemptively prevent unknown dangers and difficulties; they can only take it one step at a time. But who would have known—when Zhang Ni learned about this bet between his grandfather and his mother, he still resolutely chose the path he is now on, never once regretting his decision. On the contrary, he feels that choosing this road is the correct and best option. He wants a life of his own, a life that won’t be abandoned due to any interference, nor changed by anyone’s decision.

Who would have known that his future life path would be even more glorious and exciting than his biological father’s, and no one would know how lively his future family will be. He doesn’t know how many siblings he will have or the kind of road he will ultimately face, but he has always stayed true to the path he chose!

No matter how arduous the road may become, he still chooses to complete his life journey...

Creating glory together, what a daunting task, but it is even clearer in his heart: If he gives up, then others would surely look down on him even more...
