My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1485: Chapter 1279: The Taste

For so many days, I’ve been waiting to use the pain deep inside me to forget her departure, but it has had no effect at all.

”Dad, actually, I’m not saying all these things to blame you today. I just hope you can figure out whether what you’re doing is right or wrong. Do you intend to see my mom as your wife?

Think about it yourself. Over these years, how much suffering and pain has she endured, yet she’s never spoken a word about it because she knows she has to rely on her own efforts, step by step, until finally living a life that’s different from others. I don’t understand what could drive you to so ruthlessly choose to hurt her.

She is your wife; she is not a god, nor is she a saint. She can’t possibly keep smiling and laughing when her husband neglects her. Even I can’t do it. Why can’t you stand in my mom’s shoes and consider her predicament? Why can’t you empathize with how exhausting and painful her life is?

If one day you find my mom has changed, don’t think about blaming others, or think about shifting all the responsibility onto someone else. You should reflect on how excessive your actions were. You should reflect on what you’ve turned your family into. How could his evidence be so lackluster and apathetic? He is helpless; he also wants to live happily. What conclusion did we all give him? Making him live so painfully. He’s been hit hard inside and can’t keep being happy either.

I’m hoping every word I said to you today sinks in. Just because you’re my father, I can say these heartfelt words to you without reservation. If it were anyone else, I wouldn’t say such heartfelt words. Sometimes, you ought to consider things from different perspectives. Your actions have consequences for our family. Maybe you don’t care now, but because of the matter with grandparents, you pushed your wife to the brink where her depression acted up and she attempted suicide in the hospital. Do you think this is a responsibility the city government should bear?”

”Child, I know you care for your family and that what you said was for everyone in the family, but have you considered that sometimes the unintended words you say can cause great displeasure at home? What you say may seem normal to me, but for others, it might not. Everyone in the family deals with things differently, and everyone has their own path to follow.

No one will forever wait for others to pave the way for them. Do you think paths paved by others are as stable as the ones you’ve walked yourself? No one lets you advance easily through life like you want. You always think what you do is correct, but maybe in others’ eyes, it’s all wrong. When you realize your actions are never understood by others, that’s when you’ll know how painful it is not to be understood.

You’re my son. Always and everywhere, you should understand that my intentions as a father are earnest. I would never harm my wife!

No matter how I explain, you simply won’t believe that this incident was truly an accident. I didn’t want such things to happen around us. I certainly didn’t want my family to endure such a severe blow. But some things I really can’t conclude for you beforehand. Everything I do is in hopes that everyone can have a happy and joyful day.

Yet why, in the end, do I find that what I want to give you all I can never provide, repeatedly bringing harm instead? Do you think this result is what I desire? If it weren’t unavoidable, why would I have reached this stage today? You know how much I want my parents to come back to my side, just like you want grandparents back with you. That’s a long-standing longing, years of familial anticipation. It’s been so hard for them to come back; I don’t wish for any changes. I want them to stay peacefully at home. Am I wrong in doing this? Am I not doing this so everyone can get the outcome they want? Why, after mistakes, do you all push the blame onto me and never consider whether you’ve had such thoughts yourselves?

You’re my son. As a parent, I shouldn’t argue over every little thing with you. I also hope those things never happen. Regrettably, some things are truly unpredictable. People want a simple life: just to live happily and peacefully. Isn’t that the most important? Yet you never consider what consequences your actions can bring to yourself, just like you said this is the same result as mine.

Do you know that I also sincerely hope that you can live happily and joyfully? But living this way every day, what result are you bringing upon yourself? Is your life not tiring? The hurt you caused me, the pain I endured, I can never forget, yet I chose never to speak of it because I understand, in many things, myself, it’s all about being happy and joyful.

My greatest hope is that you are happy and joyful. As long as my son is happy, as long as my family is safe and happy, what’s a little more suffering or fatigue for myself?

But in the end, I realize that even if you give all you have, even at the cost of everything, to achieve every goal set for you, in your eyes, it’s all moths flying into a flame. You never give me any good outcome. You always think what you have is the best, but you forget whether living this way is tiring or joyful. You repeatedly put all mistakes on me, your father. If you truly care so much about your mom, why don’t you always stay by her side? I went out today just to study treatment plans for her, but no one wanted this accident to happen. Yet you put all the blame on me. Do you know how heartbroken I was at that moment?

I said nothing then because I was anxious too, I was scared. Might you later calm down and think, is that how a son should talk to his father?”

Yesterday was just a kind of hurt. There’s no one in this life who hasn’t been hurt at least a little.
