My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1483: Chapter 1277: Forced

The cold rain is not as cold as the feelings between us, but I really miss you. I can’t blame anyone for my own failure.

Zhang Zhentian himself doesn’t even know how to act when his biological father comes to find him, hoping to take him home. But when he recalls how he took the initiative to come home back then, his father repeatedly shut him out. Even though it hurt inside, he was torn and in pain.

So many things make it impossible for him not to think about them. Often, he finds it equally hard to accept many things happening inside him, but there’s nothing he can do about it, because his father’s final choice was not him. But now, when his biological father speaks to him with such words, how could his heart not be moved?

But what should I do to completely handle this matter well?

Sometimes, it’s like this: perhaps you think the things you did were unintentional, not purposely intending for them to become like this, but in others’ eyes, since you made that choice back then, why regret now?

This is how everyone’s perspectives are different, but when it comes to this, everyone feels conflicted inside. What should be done? On one side is your pride and dignity, on the other is your warm family. What should you really choose?

Zhang Zhentian ultimately decides to call Old Master Zhang. He feels that no matter what decision he makes, he should inform his biological father about it, whether it’s good or bad. At the very least, he must respect himself and act like someone with manners, not like an ungrateful person who repays kindness with enmity. He absolutely cannot let people call him a heartless villain.

When Old Master Zhang received the call from his son at home, he was extremely joyful. He felt that after his relentless pleading, his son would definitely return home soon. This was because he also understood that he, as a father, did not do it intentionally. He knew his son longed to be with family, because when he went to find him, he saw that longing in his eyes.

But when he heard the words from his son, his joy was instantly frozen. Apparently, his son did not think that way in his heart, and he didn’t understand what kind of hatred would make his son still refuse to return despite his pleas.

”Zhentian, have you decided to come back? If so, hurry up and pack your things and come back. If it’s not convenient for you, you can tell me, and I’ll come pick you up. As long as you come back, everything will be fine...”

When Zhang Zhentian heard his father say these words, his heart felt really heavy. He clearly chose not to return home, but seeing his father’s overjoyed appearance made it hard for him to break such brutal news. Perhaps his father truly realized his mistakes?

Does he need to reconsider? Why make family relationships so terrible when they can be resolved peacefully? Many times, could he really bear it with his heart? Why doesn’t he ask himself what he really wants?

”Dad, it’s not what you think. The reason I’m calling today is not to say I’m coming back. I want to tell you I don’t want to come back. I feel I’ve gotten used to life outside all these years. When I tried to come home, you rejected me for whatever reason you had. That proved you didn’t really want me back at home. So why not avoid disappointment? I think those days I spent outside alone weren’t that bad.

Why make such a big deal out of something small? What I truly want isn’t much; I just wish to live happily without anyone interfering with my life. I know the things you said to me came from the heart, but I cannot let go of my prejudices against you. After being excluded for years, I still can’t move on. I’m sorry, Dad. My decision might surprise you or hurt you, but I want you to understand my intentions. Since I’ve made this decision after careful thought, I won’t regret it. I can’t bring myself to say such harsh words to you in person because I can’t bear to see my dad’s hurt expression and still abandon him as a son. I’m getting old inside, and I don’t know whether it’s because I’m aging or something else, but I hope to get your understanding. You should know that my actions aren’t without reason, I just don’t know how to return to the past!”

”Don’t you miss your son? Don’t you miss your grandson? Do you realize that by making this choice today, one day you will regret it? If you don’t return today, your son may decide never to forgive you in his lifetime. Do you really want your son to hate his biological father forever?

Do you understand how much he longed over the years for his father to be by his side, to guide him, to support him? But you, wandering outside for so long, isn’t it enough? Do you want to keep wandering forever without a home? Do you know each decision you make breaks the hearts of those who love you, the ones who unconditionally clean up your messes? I don’t want to say anything more; I just want to ask you, can you stop being so selfish for once when making decisions? Do you think being this self-serving is truly good for you? Does it really hurt you? In fact, when you act selfishly, you always hurt those who love you the most. People love you because they care about you, treat you as family, and view you as important, yet you break their heart—isn’t their heart human too? If a person’s heart dies, then they will never care for anyone again in life, do you understand?

Do you really want everyone never to care for you again in the future?”

No matter how genuine the feelings, even if losing everything, he couldn’t let go.
